I took this shot last night. The sparkles are genuine, I've not added them in photoshop or some such.

Looks like a bit of interesting lens flare, eh?
Thanks Richard.
I'm onto night shifts for the next few days so, though I'll be around a fair bit, I wont be able to upload any images, so here's two for your critique...

I thought this was a cool thread, and wanted to post a picture of some great clouds I captured the other day.

Didn't really have anything new this week, so I picked randomly from my library. This one is from 2008 at Miami Metrozoo:

I like the contrast between the rock and the ape. Superb as usual, Ekserb.
On another note, I know that you have this pet peeve as well, since I read it in another thread - why can't people know the difference between your & you're, there, they're & their, as well as other homophones?!Sometimes I just pass it off, but today the grammarian in me is exasperated.

Hope you don't mind another cloud picture. I find them fascinating (among other things). I believe these are cumulonimbus clouds forming? We got some rain soon after.

Do you guys live in the tropics? Both of your cloud pictures could have been taken in south Florida. We see those kinds of formations all the time, especially in the summer.
Can I get in on the cloud action?

Ekserb I think I hate you... those shots are stunning
Great stuff! It's intimidating to post in here!
Here's a full moon we had a few nights ago.

It's hard to get a shot of the moon, at least with my camera.
Nice job!
It never occurs to most people that the moon is covered with bright gray dirt and dust and is lit by the direct light of the sun, so its surface is very bright. If your camera has manual exposure control, you can get a good ballpark exposure with 1/250 second shutter speed and f8 aperture. Of course this seems counter-intuitive when shooting at night (and wouldn't even register an image of most anything else at night), but the moon comes out pretty well exposed.
Please don't stop sharing!
