Non-Erotic Photos

Is a non-erotic photo thread okay for Ampics?

I'll confess that I didn't read your post properly... and I've been sat here for ages thinking "but I prefer the first one" only to realise (some six hours later) that thats the after shot.

I really like the quality of light you've captured in the edited version, its a look I'd love to try for but I'm not quite there yet.

Sorry about that. After reading your comment I went back and added a couple captions to make it clear which was which. :)

Thank you for the comment!

No no mate, entirely my mistake... its what comes from being on night shift I think.
The depth of colour in the edited version is wonderful as well.
We've got a dog cage similar to that, but everytime I look at it in terms of a photo, my dog looks at me like I've just made him homeless.

I think this one looks a little more real and a little less edited than the previous image...

More before and after

Here's a few more examples of editing to save a lackluster photo.

This was taken at an airshow on a particularly grey day. The jet was also too far away for the lens I was using, so I got a shot of mostly sky with a little jet in there somewhere:

This is the heavily cropped version with some additional adjustments thrown in:

Another airshow, this time hot air balloons. Boring, washed out original:

Punchy, contrasty edit:

And a couple of zoo pictures, just because:

EDIT: Added this one because I'm bored tonight and going through a bunch of older photos. I don't even drink this stuff, but I thought it was an interesting bottle and label:

Are they supposed to be fairies or shrubbery?

Those are beautiful! My only question relates to the ImageShack service: Why are the "related images" along the bottom of the page all naked women? :) Not that I'm complaining, but is there something about Norway that would result in related images of women?

Good question. It might have to do with a lot of porn pics have gibberish for file names. Maybe Norwegian locations are taken as being similar.

I'm thinking fairies... the leaves across the chest are remeniscient of the green mans face leaves.

Hmmm... I think I should investigate this strange phenomenon.

From the first post in this thread:

I was discussing with a friend of mine earlier that I'd been spending a lot of time shooting scenic shots since I moved out west. So the question for the masses and mods is, can one get away with starting an Ampics thread for non-erotic photography. I'm sure there are a fair number of lit users who take artistic shots who would like to share them with the masses but don't necessarily want to friend every Tom, Jane, or Dick from lit on their Facebook page.

I take this to mean we are encouraged to share photos that we've taken ourselves. As much as I enjoy Calvin and Hobbes, I don't think sharing other people's work is in the spirit of this thread. (Not to mention that sharing any photo or graphic that you don't have permission to share is against the forum rules.)

You must have a legal right from the copyright owner to post any images - i.e. photographs/drawings that you yourself created and/or have a license or other permission to post.

I do have plenty to share. I'll just have to dig through all my backup discs.

I can see how the thread would be much more interesting this way.

With all this talk of old photos, I thought I'd share this one

That's beautiful. Where was that?
Its a shame that only a few people here meet the approval of the new thread host. For any of you that feel unwelcome or hesitant to post your first or more photos, you're welcome to come to my confessions thread. The atmosphere is much more welcoming.
