In reply to a hateful PM I received from said host, that is MY photo. I took it at Maryland's Renfest last year. Guess I should be honored it was thought that I stole it off the internet

Come on now, theres no need fr this. If you dont wish to participate in this thread there is, as youve said, another to go to.
Theres no point getting into snide comments about it.

Spring

The thread has been busy. Wow.

Flower photos in Spring have been done to death since Pontius was a pilot, but I couldn't resist adding to the toll.

Taken in the garden about a week ago............'Daffs on the move'.

Thats beautiful Richard, the bokeh is particularly effective :)
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Mads, it has been so long since I have been here to the thread and so many fine photos have been posted, it was difficult to go back through them all but I did like, very much, the one you posted of the light through the lead light window. I'm guessing it was NOT a church?

Very fine, Richard. Can never get too many flowers in the spring.

Since autumn is on its way in the northern hemisphere, I'm hoping we get some people to share the changing of the leaves as the trees prepare for winter.

Thanks Phil, yes, I too, am looking forward to some Autumn leaves here on the thread.

I'm awake, honest...
Yeah, it was a church, a little one in a tiny little place

Its Oare church, where Lorna Doone was shot.
My brother in law is the authors great great grandson.

A great photo Mads. I really like the colours and the lighting; almost surreal.

The cloud and the moon give it a haunting effect. Almost expect to see bats flying past :)

Richard

I came across this photo taken about six months ago. I was in Newcastle and had a small Lumix with me. I had planned to take a few photos around the town as well as do a bit of shopping. Vanessa was with me.

As we walked away from the car (which is parked in a rather dismal car park), I noticed the lighting and thought it would make a good pic. I'm not into taking pics of my cars but this caught my attention.

IT'S A NISSAN 300ZX 1995 MODEL.

Nice isn't it? I'm being loaned one of those for a few months to see how I get on with medium format photography.
No other point to this post, just wanted to brag really.

Are you going to develop the film yourself or have you found a lab that still develops 120 film? Or is it 110?

I've given some thought to buying a 4"x5" field camera with a Polaroid back. The idea of yanking out a sheet of Polaroid B&W and waiting for it to develop on the spot appeals to me, even if the reality of acquiring the film tends to dilute the fantasy a bit.

Speaking of sheet film, does anyone know if Playboy centerfolds are shot on 8"x10" cameras anymore? Have they switched to scanning back view cameras or can they get the required resolution from a high-megapixel SLR or medium-format digital camera?

Its a 120. I do have most of the gear to process it myself, but I want to concentrate on the taking side of it more to start with, and I'll get disheartened if my developing lets me down, since I wont be able to tell if its my processing or my taking at fault.

There's a few places online that still process it, but, surprisingly, my local developing place still does it. I was rather shocked.

Getting polaroid film over here isn't too hard if you're willing to use the likes of ebay, but I've no idea what the situation is like in the states.

A few years ago I found a Russian company that was making instant film (unlicensed) for the SX-70 camera after Polaroid stopped making it. I have no idea what it cost or whether it was any good, but it shows that there will probably be a market for the stuff for many decades after the demise of the original manufacturer.
