It must be that "non" in the thread title

I love the photo of the egret, it has an ethereal quality about it.

That photo was totally a quick shot from a moving canoe. From the time I saw the bird to the time he flew off after I snapped a few shots, was about six or seven seconds. I think it came out nicely.

I was reminded today of some photos I made of an old relic hidden in the woods near where I live in Ocala, FL.

Back in the 1960s, construction was halted on what was to be a barge canal across the Florida peninsula. About a quarter of the project was finished, including four massive bridge supports that are now almost forgotten, but can be found in the woods between the north- and south-bound lanes of Hwy 441 south of Ocala. They are only a short walk from parking at the nearby Sheriff's Station.

This kiosk has printed materials that show the original plans for the bridge and a small map that shows where the four supports are located

It's hard to believe I posted my last images on this thread about two months before my accident. Since I'm still unable to make new photos, I'll see what I can do about adding some shots from the archive. Forgive me in advance if I post duplicates of what's already here. :)

These remind me of the Tori gates in Japan but an abandoned futuristic Tori gate.

Sorry to hear about your accident Ekserb, hope you get better soon. <hugs>

Here are two of my best pictures I took about a year ago with my tablet. I hope you like it :)

Ekserb, I always like your work, its good to see you're still posting.
I'll contribute to the thread shortly, need to move an external drive to my mac

Lest you think you need an expensive camera to take nice photos, these three images were made with an iPhone 6s. At this size, admittedly, they need not be very high resolution, but I've printed one of them at 12" x 18" inches and it is almost impossible to distinguish from a photo made with my 24MP Sony a900 DSLR.

My beagle passed a couple of weeks ago, so I just wanted to share a few photos of him through the years. Rest in peace, little guy....

This one was taken long before his death, but I thought it was poignant with him looking out the window. I miss him.

And now to bring the emotions back to normal, here's some pictures of a lightning storm over Dunnellon, Florida. This church is about 20 miles from Dunnellon, but the storm was so big that I could see the lightning flashes as I was driving to downtown Ocala. I parked in front of the church and found what appeared to be a good spot for getting the lightning with the steeple in the foreground.

I've never seen such an active electrical storm. There was a flash every couple of seconds and it wasn't hard to get some really amazing flashes on camera. I set the camera to correctly expose the steeple, then just fired off bursts of frames to get the flashes. In the past, this has resulted in one good exposure for every 40-60 frames, but this night I managed to get a flash for every 8-12 frames. It was amazing.

These three are the best combination of lightning and composition:
