North to the Future

Ive often thought Id want to live there. The cold and snow doesnt scare me, but I think the dark winters and sunny nights might. How do you deal with them? I honestly want to hear your perspective.
Stay active in winter. That photo was taken on a multi-use trail that's lighted. There are plenty of opportunities to play in the evening from a nice walk to a hardcore XC ski. My headlamp and my bike light are my best friends in the winter. I'm lucky enough to have an off-grid cabin that provides some relief from technology when I can get away. Ya just keep busy. People who aren't outdoor folks need to have things to do, hobbies, etc.

In summer, with the longer daylight hours, just go to bed when you're tired. People ask how the light affects me and I tell them, "I close my eyes and fall asleep."

If you think you might want to live here, visit in February. The days are getting longer. It's not as nice as March and can still be bone-chilling cold if you're person who worries about fashion over function. Early February has cheap hotel rates. And, there's no flock of tourists to be in the way.
