Not in sex

OK - just had an interesting conversation with our son. He was discussing how something he saw on TV was "not in sex."

Not in sex?

Husband casually asked him what he was talking about and we finally got the entire story.

He told us the cartoon dung beetles he saw on Lazlo this morning were "not in sex".

Not INSECTS.

This, because they didn't have six legs and head, thorax and abdomen in their cartoon form and he'd just learned all about the parts of insects right before school let out.

We corrected the "beetles are not insects" part and then sent both kids outside to play.

Maybe we'll find some dung beetles outside to torment?

Oy.

Do NOT invoke her name! Ahhhhh!

I feel so dirty now.

Bleah.

Gotta love 'em.

My daughter told her entire class that you're not supposed to kiss and touch in a "pubic area"

Yeah, public.

However, she'll change THAT tune, eventually ... with regard to BOTH public AND pubic!

I have three words for your children: Enunciate! Enunciate! Enunciate!

Sarahh? If your son likes insects, he should check out this site, What's That Bug?

Lot's of really cool pics. Check out the Solopugids link for something really creepy.

Thanks, Rob. Like many young boys he's seriously into bugs and creepy-crawlies.

Very much ick, that solopugid pic, by the way.

:catroar:

(If you can believe that information about how big they grow they remind me very much of Ripleys' alien attackers in all the Alien movies.)
