Guns are of course always available if you have enough cash. Apart from 3D printed weapons, all guns were legal once. But in the UK for instance, firearms offences are so rare that outside of a small number of localities they don't exist. And where they do it's usually gang/drugs conflict.

Get rid of legal guns and eventually all will be so old & obsolete that it will no longer be an issue. But the ammosexuals would have a hissy fit at the thought.

We are arguing about gun bans. You won't accept they they do work in countries where the majority support them.

It is very difficult and expensive for criminals to obtain guns in those three countries and having and/or using a gun attracts severe penalties.

Just look at the statistics for death by guns in those three coutries that now have gun bans - but you won't because you believe gun bans don't work. They do - where they have public support.

And they won't in the US because they don't have public support and while some states might ban, crossing a state line leads to a place where it is much easier to get guns.

The UK, Australia and New Zealand have sea frontiers. For them it is much easier to stop imports of guns.

They do not work. Even your stats prove they don't work because even with the bans in place you STILL HAVE gun violence.

Your anti-gun ideology is getting in the way of your logical thinking.

Did you know that I can still shoot my original early colonial period flintlock? At what point will it be so old and obsolete it "no longer matters?"

I also have several Cap & Ball revolvers. When will they become obsolete?

This is not to mention all the modern arms I have which will probably still be around a few centuries from now.

So when will they no longer matter? 1000 years? 2000?

Your thinking is illogical.

Places with gun bans have much lower incidence of gun violence. It is impossible to prevent everyone from obtaining and using a gun, but when a single shooting is headline news around the world - that compares with the US where a gun death is just a local news item.

Your anti gun-ban ideology makes you a b***** idiot.

Do you understand the hypocrisy in your statements? Do you?

Gun BANS don't exist to "reduce gun violence" they're supposedly put into place to ELIMINATE gun violence. The basis is that if no one has a gun, no one can use a gun to kill with.

Yet here you are saying that they "reduce" but not eliminate because so far the narrative of "no guns = no death" keep eluding the reality that criminals don't care about gun laws and they will get a gun and use it against those you FORCED to be defenseless. And then you weasel on even that disgusting situation further by saying that bans will only work when they have broad public support. Which basically says that as long as progressives promote releasing criminals, gun bans won't work and the public will just have to roll over and die in the name of providing statistics to prove they don't work while you mouth fantasies about how well they'd work if only criminals obeyed the law.

Which basically means that they don't work AT ALL but you're still going to beat that drum. The question is, why?

Only you know the answer but I suspect it has something to do with passiveness and the misunderstanding that how YOU feel is how everyone else feels.

Go back to drunk, Derpy, you're bed.

Poor luk. FOMO'ing once again...
Not Luke, not FOMOing <--- no apostrophe needed.

Weren't you just doing a victory lap about how right you are all the time? Looks like you tripped and finished last. AGAIN.

Poor luk. You're like an arsonist who cheers that he made the fire brigade show up to fight the first he set in his own house.

HisArpy? You keep changing the narrative.

Gun Bans are to make it more difficult to obtain guns. Law abiding citizens will go along with them. Some criminals will not because theyr are criminal. They become criminals by breaking the law.

You are still spouting nonsense and your claims have been comprehensively disproved - again.

My position isn't changing, you're spinning the hell out of yours in order to cover the gaping holes in it.

We've finally arrived at the fact that you agree that criminals don't obey the law. Wow, whodathunkit? Especially since I've been saying that for some time while you keep going on about how "bans" aren't really "bans" but are more like "restrictions." Which you've finally admitted that criminals won't obey anyway.

So... about those laws you want to enact so criminals don't have guns. Or knives. Or screwdrivers. Or hammers. Are baseball bats on the "to be banned" list anywhere? Did equine jawbones make the list? Rocks?

Maybe if you paid the criminals to stay home and not kill or rob people...

Now about those laws you want to enact so criminals don't have guns...
You are still an idiot. You ignore or deny the statistics which show that countries with gun control laws have far fewer gun deaths than the US where guns are very easy to obtain (if not in a particular state). Gun laws reduce the number of guns available either to be bought or stolen, unlike going into Walmart and buying them.

Lol, Walmart no longer sells guns. Nor can you just "go out and buy one" like most anti-gun idjits believe. At least not here in the US.

But hey, at least you're consistent on the "bans aren't really bans, they're restrictions" mantra. If only you could get the criminals to agree with you.

Maybe you should target that segment of the population. After all if, like you say, gun bans work when the majority want them, then the "majority" you need to convince are the criminals not the law abiding.

So you need to start working the mean streets instead of the cushy lobbyist hangouts. Of course there's no money in it. Plus the fact that if you tried you'd probably get robbed by some guy with a gun. But hey, at least you'd be putting your money where your mouth is.

How can you be a lawyer and not know why laws are made?

You are still denying the reality that gun bans drop the incidence of gun deaths to avery low number.

Of course criminals who use guns are targeted by police. But whether you can go into Walmart and buy a gun or not, in the US there are already so many millions of guns around that getting one for criminal use is very easy.
It is difficult (and expensive) to get a gun in the UK. Usually they are one-shot weapons crudely converted from starting pistols or blank-firers. They are nearly as dangerous for the user as the person they are aimed at.

You are more likely to be hit be lightning than to be held up by a man with a gun in the UK. There just aren't that many criminals with guns, and if there are, they are more likely to used in drug gang wars than against the general public. Guns are just too rare to be used except for a targeted hit.

Walmart sells guns, and it’s easy to dodge background checks and waiting periods.

Here.

In the US.

It looks as if HisArpy needs to get out and see for himself. Even I in the UK know that Walmart sells guns.

As for going out in the mean streets? In the 1960s my uncle introduced me to the Kray Brothers, local succesful 'business men'. Even I knew they weren't. The purpose of the introduction was to show that despite my massive build and OHMS briefcase, I wasn't a policeman, just a visiting nephew. My uncle was a street trader, often selling under-the-counter goods. He had been very useful to the family in the days of rationing, being able to obtain things that would otherwise be impossible. But to do that he had to pay the Krays, and would often obtain things from the Krays' associates at discount rates.

The East End in those days was rough. But being known to the Krays meant I was left alone, except for some spotty teenager who tried to hold me up with a knife. After I had beaten him up, some of the Krays' goons went further for trying a robbery without the Krays' permission.
