Old School Musicianship… Rock and Roll.. Jazz… Blues… Big Band even…

My pulse rate was too low.... lets crank this baby up.....

April Wine - Roller

First time I heard this song was on one of the commercials for those K-Tel albums; Roller was one of the songs included. Of course, the song was edited down to about 2 minutes, which I found out when I bought the album. I think that was one of the last K-Tel albums I ever bought.

I know, I know. I always say this thread is for the popular versions of songs we all know... and it is.... but... I love this song...

So just crank up the volume and enjoy the ride..

Alice Cooper – Detroit City

(yeah, Brenda's in a mood.... 🤣🤣🤣)

More.. I need more.... and loud....

The fact this band is also Canadian, is totally a coincidence.

Triumph - When The Lights Go Down

Wait... I mean.... that's for @TANSTAAFL58 ! Yeah... that's what I meant....

Wow! Two Canadian bands from the 70s in a row. I'm impressed. I saw Triumph at a small club in Mississauga, then at my high school. Yep, I'm old.

Here's another one. I don't know how successful Max Webster was in the States, but here's a good one. A million Vacations

The lead guitarist, Kim Mitchell went on to a lot of solo success here. He practically owned The Kee to Bala (a club in a resort area north of Toronto) for years and was a DJ on T.O.'s hard rock station Q10.

Lager and Ale, a classic logic problem that reared its head nightly "back in the day" when most bars in Ontario had ONE Lager (usually Molson Canadian or Labatt's Blue) and ONE Ale (Usually Molson Export or Labatt's Fifty) on tap. Draft was embarrassingly cheap

It came in glasses like this, 8 ounces to the LCBO line, less than a buck

Late weekend night at the Bojar Grill, I got decisions to be made between Lager and Ale... Take it Kim.

All right.... it seems I've been called out a little.... so....

You bes' be turning this up too.

Led Zeppelin - Bring It on Home

Birthday wishes to Lita Ford, born this day, September 19, 1958. Part of the Runaways, she did pretty good for herself. A couple of hits, but her albums IMHO are actually pretty good, lots of deep tracks worth checking out.

Lita Ford - Kiss Me Deadly

I could go for some dancing around today too.... but I'm thinking a bit older tune....

Raspberries - Go All The Way

I love a good hook. A piece of music that you instantly know at the first notes or the opening chords, like say "Lola" by the Kinks

Or Warren Zevon, "Werewolves of London"

(Yeah, I played that last week. Sue me.)

OR Paranoid by Black Sabbath
