Old School Musicianship… Rock and Roll.. Jazz… Blues… Big Band even…

We need some Aretha now... I'm sure of it.

Aretha Franklin - The House That Jack Built

I love the lyrics, I love Aretha singing, but oh that bass... 🥰 🥰 🥰

I'm not likely to post much from The Eagles, but this song speaks to me.

I can't imagine why.

Eagles - Witchy Woman

SIDE NOTE: How old is the demographic on lit? Seems to be, like fans of anything literary, aging. Yes?

And to be clear, I'm not fishing for ages. Just checking to see if anybody has the data.

Why would you think we'd be talking about that here? On a music thread???

Granted... the musicianship in this song is.... well there isn't much... but it is fun, and it's Friday so....

The Kingsmen - Louie Louie

We need some Sam & Dave.... I think I heard Isaac Hayes wrote this song... might have played on it and/or produced it to.

I looked it up - written by Isaac Hayes and Dave Porter. Isaac didn't produce it.

Sam & Dave - Hold On, I'm Comin'

Wow... I just stumbled onto this... I haven't heard this in forever... wow...

Krokus - Screaming in the Night

I heard this song a couple days ago for the first time in many years, and I had forgotten how hard BTO could rock. The opening bass line is really cool and the crunching guitars make it. I used to hear it a lot in the mid-to-late 70s on FM radio, but those days are long gone.

I was reading up on it and apparently Randy Bachman thought it was strange that Yes had named their 1971 album "Fragile" and that there was nothing fragile about BTO's music, nor is there anything fragile about this song!

Bachman-Turner Overdrive - Not Fragile

The Thunder Rolls - 1990
Song by Garth Brooks

Okay RJ, my dear friend.... you want to Garth it out... on a Friday night???

Dude. Mic drop, right here. Crank this up.... it's more Friday night than ... Friday night itself.

Ain't Goin' Down ('Til The Sun Comes Up) by Garth Brooks

No RJ... louder than that. The neighbors are still sleeping. 🥰 🥰 🥰

I saw the below comic this morning so I had to listen to some Hendrix!

Jimi Hendrix - Machine Gun
