Here's where I am with booze. I fucking love it, but I don't drink that much because i get drunk super quickly. I had one bottle of Ace Perry with dinner on Wednesday and probably shouldn't have driven after.

... and my husband doesn't like it when I drink because I'm quite a handful. Let's face it, I'm a handful when sober.

So, here's where I stand:

Wine: I could drink it everyday. I work for a wine collector. Beneath my feet at work sits a 2500 label cellar. Most Fridays end with a glass. A few Friday's ago, we started too early and I got drunk at work. I prefer a nice dry Malbec.

Beer: I love beer. Dammit, do I love a great beer. We have a really amazing brewery here, Sun King. I could drink their Osiris Pale Ale for the rest of my life.

Tequila: It makes my top come off, so I rarely drink it. Tequila Sunrise? Yes, please. Shots? Okay! Neat, as long as it's something good enough to sip.

Whisky: Whisky is my kryptonite. It's all the rage now, but I don't drink it much. It's what I honed my teeth on, so I'll always love it.

I totally sound like a drunk right now, but I barely drink. It's just kind of fun to think about, like eating a whole pan of brownies.

What's your poison?

Wine: big bold Cabernet or Bordeaux
Beer: Somethign over the top Hoppy!!! Guinness always
Vodka: dirty martini or Vodka tonic with lemon and lime
Scotch or Broubon:no ice straight up-depends on my mood

I dont get drunk often because of the risk reward...I hate hangovers...so i have a drink or two every so often and savor them...but stop before I pay the price in the morning...call it age and wisdome...age cause i cant recover as i used to..Wisdome that I now know my limitation...

yeah getting older sucks..lol

Beer now and then. Love gray goose on the rocks with olives. Or Gibson martini. Night cap 15 year old Macallen and side of water cheers

So well said. I am there too. Cheers

The end of the day i just have to have a cpl beers to wash all the shit out of my head.
But i love beer. If there wasn't alcohol in it i'd drink it anyway.
Gin, whiskey, rum, tequila are good too, but usually get me in more trouble than i planned on.
Having an ice cold bud just now.

Old.

I just turned 39 and I swear that it is the scariest age ever.

My problem is that I still feel/act/think like I'm 20. The booze, though, the booze does not treat me like I'm still 20.

Hell, I don't even need booze. A few weeks ago, we had a party and I drank water and gatorade all night. Still woke up hungover. ;)

I have never been a drinker, in fact I can go a whole year without touching a drop but when I do drink it is normally with my friends.

Wine: A sweet white like a Muscat
Beer: A pale ale (Coopers is the one for me)
Vodka: I keep mine chilled in the freezer
and other spirits well actually I like sweet ones like Midori/lemonade, and Illusions. Yes strange I know but there you go.
Oh and luckily I have never had a hangover no matter how much I have drunk.

You're probably right, but I mostly had water.

It was the lower cal G2 version, but the sodium is probably killer.

I'm back on strict water and coffee only.

Empty cals is another reason I don't drink much. Saturday night, though, I have dinner plans and its on!

Cheap liquor is sugar cane distilled~thus the headache
The better stuff is fruit distilled
It's on the label
Stay away from sugar cane

Aint she cute? She thinks 39 is old.
That's when a woman just starts to become truly beautiful.
Believe me, the scary years are well down the road.
And you'll ache for 39
(someone get me my walker)

I don't drink much but seeing this thread is making me go get the last Budweiser Black Crown in the fridge. I think it is a couple of months old, now, and there was only six to begin with.

CHEERS!!!!

Bourbon is my baby
Scotch is my broody brother
Gin is my bar buddy
Sipping bitters are my summer flings
Beer is my reliable old friend
Wine is that friend I rarely see but when I do it's a good night

Hardly a day passes that I don't take a drink. I enjoy it. It's part of the fabric of my life.

Beer - I began collecting beer signs and hanging them on my bedroom walls when I was about 12. My friends and I would ride our bikes to a local beverage store, get a pop and a pretzel rod and the guys would give us the excess signs that beer drivers dropped off. That led to collecting beer cans and that led to drinking beer by eighth grade. I acquired a taste early. I always liked beer with body and foreign beers were the only ones you could get back then. I got into those in college. Then came the 80's. I started home-brewing in order to make beer that tasted good. Then the first craft beer revolution, I was in heaven. I don't drink it more than once or twice a week now, but love big stouts, barleywines, old ale's and IPA's.

Whiskey / Whisky - A bourbon Manhattan is my go-to drink. I'll mix it up sometimes and make them with Irish or Rye. My friends love my Old Fashioned I make with fresh maple syrup. I love a mint julep, sours, Sazarac's - there are so many cocktails I've learned and love. One or two nights, epecially in the winter months, I might have Scotch. A single malt on an ice cube or two is a great sipping drink before bed.

Gin - Once in a while. I like the Negroni - gin with Campari and vermouth. The ladies in my life like French 75's or Tom Collins' and I often make those. Silver fizzes, a drink my grandfather loved - I make those once or twice a year and always think of him.

Vodka - I keep a bottle in the freezer for dirty martinis. A bottle of citrus too for cosmos. I make a very good cosmo. One of the secrets is to put fresh lime juice on the rim of the glass.

Wine - A bottle of Cab or Merlot with dinner always makes for good conversation and lingering at the table after the food is finished. I'm not a white wine drinker.

Tequila - very very rarely.

Rum - Light rum in Mojitos is a summer favorite. Dark rum in a Dark and Stormy is a great gingery drink. I make fresh ginger infused simple syrup to keep in the fridge for these.

Liquors - I have a number in my bar, mostly as ingredients and not for sipping by themselves.

Finally, Absinthe - Yes on occasion. I have had it with the sugar cube and water, but mostly use it in cocktails as an ingredient.

Elastic rebound

Helium balloons would satisfy the concept...
