OOC: Battletech (MechWarrior), any one interested?

you you know, just a suggestion, but we could have our ultimate leader, in a very agile mech with two bodyguards, and have our leader actually lead us, in that he/she would direct our movements and basically be like a general of an army. Coordinating troops, and telling us what to do out on the battlefield.
That's basicaly what I meant, the leader is in the battle leading his/her troops on the battlefield.

The bodyguards seem a little odd though.

In MechWarrior IV, it's Micro$oft and they screwed the story a little. I think your mixxing Prince Victor Davion with Ian Dasari Ian's father was killed by the Lyran Allience when Ian was fighting the Clans. Ian found out what happend and sweared to avenge his father and family; hence the name MechWarrior IV: Vengeance.

You played as Ian in that one. In MechWarrior IV: Mercenries you play as the leader of a merc unit. ourhired by anyone you choose, as it's an open-ended game, set near the the end of the FedCom Civil War.

As for lance I'd say four to a lance.

So I am crazzy! Ha I told you all I was crazzy. Yes well it has been a while since I played the game and obviously I screw up when I was reading the Victor mech information. Still the best thing about mechwarrior four is in one of the last levels a building is labeled Fasa Tech suport. I miss Fasa.

Well, for a general in a battle, he should have a few people around him making sure no one kills him and decapitates the army. So bodyguards make some sense.

Or maybe he picks an escort lance from whatever lances are doing well in the group.

There still is FASA Game Studios, but there mostly Micro$of drones now.

I never read about a leader of a merc unit needing bodygaurds.

Merc units are not (how do I put it), importent enough for leaders to need bodyguards.

I meant more like in the back. So the leader would direct all tactical movements, but not actually fight. So they would watch the fight through sensors and direct us, but would be vulnerable by being sneaked up on. Therefore the bodyguard.
