part 11 of the China Pearl Inn

Pleasure to meet you too!

I believe the good people are always worth the effort and time I'm glad you have them and the other way around. 😊

I was looking but I think I shall give up on that, the few conversations I did have around stories that interested me left a lot to be desired.
I do understand a lot of people have been effected by writing partners walking away from stories but I feel like I'm just getting tarnished with their fuck-up brush.
c'est la vie
Honey I know the feeling only to well. I have had a couple of writing partners walk away one after five pages of a story. Quite frustrating to say the least.

Mine has been a combination of people leaving after working out the details/ semi starting and other people being defensive, borderline angry when I reply to a requesting post.

Honey I don't understand string someone along like that.

It was especially tough when I had invested so much I’d myself in the story. At the time I was posting a lot, I depended on the interaction with my partner and the other players in the open threads. Life gets in the way, and I totally get that, but a goodbye and brief explanation would have been appreciated.

Yes that is quite true GH and inconsiderate.
Still, I am thankful for the majority of my interactions. I discovered a lot about myself and got to explore a creative side of myself that my daily life doesn’t often allow me to show. I am hoping to find that again.

I do love the explorations of the different aspects of sex and relationship as well GH .

Hey GH, do you have any idea what you want to write about? Drop me a PM sometime and let's chat.

Me too. I like getting to know my character and often prefer to start off with my co-writer on opposite sides of a situation. Eventually we learn to like each other and then come together as a couple. Like Hallmark, with sex…and guns.

Actually sex is that way many times GH. Afternoon Cait, hope all is well with you and yours.

I agree CG. The problem for me is writing it out. I what what I like and how I like it, and I hope to learn what my partner likes and how they want me to give it. What I struggle with is delivering the feelings (love, hate, anger, frustration) with descriptions that don’t take away from the passion. Meaningless sex is great, I just don’t like writing it that way.

Does that make sense?

You know me Cait I am muddling along a day at a time. :rose:

GH when I write I write what I know from real life, a touch of my favorite fantasies, from there on I reply to what my writing partner has written. Now if your lucky you will have a partner that lets you know what their character is thinking and feeling. For as in real life, it is the non verbale that tells us so much more about the individual.

I totally agree with this. I think that may be why I prefer such a slow burn in my stories when it comes to the sex. I like the build up, the anticipation. As crazy as it sounds, I like feeling that I have wooed the other character, or won them over. I would be lying if I didn’t admit that I like romance even though I prefer stories that include action, combat, or adventure. I like when I overcome an outside obstacle with my partner, which in turns cements a partnership that we build on.

GH the war years lend them self to romance, the threat of danger and so on. I like history so taking a period of conflict works well for me.

Sometimes, I just close my eyes, shut out everything else and just focus on my girl. What is she feeling? What would she do? Sometimes, it comes easily, sometimes, not so much. Sometimes I have to go to my partner and say, I'm sorry, I just can't seem to get started and if I'm lucky, my partner works/talks with me and I find a foothold to start. I'm not afraid to say I'm stuck and if I'm lucky my partner says how can I help?

I, too, draw off real life. A lot. Even if I'm writing in fantasy genre. When writers say, write what you know. They weren't wrong.

I gravitate toward more modern time periods or slightly futuristic settings. I function better in survival situations than organized combat. Having never been in combat or survival situations force me to reference what I e seen in TV and movies. I also like the lawlessness of the apocalypse. Survival of the fittest and all that.

I am like this too. Almost all of my characters are basically me, only fit, charming, handsome and brimming with confidence no matter the situation.

Awww, GH. I don't know you very well but I think in your own way you're charming and confidence is nothing more than believing in yourself and what you know you're capable of. In any given situation we never know what we can do until we're tested. Something tells me you can think on your feet.

Cait I wish I could find a writer like you. ;)
:kiss: :rose::heart:

It has been a long time since anyone called me sweet heart Cait, thanks. :rose:

So what are you up to today young lady?

Working on a starter for a new story. Replying to my current ones and making stew for my brother. He misses our mom's stew and his wife doesn't care for it so he never makes it. He had seen my post on Facebook one day when I made stew last and cried because he misses it. I told him I'd make it for him when he got here.
