part 11 of the China Pearl Inn

The start of the new week greets me with overcast skies as mother nature hesitates between rain and sunshine.
Well at least I make a decision and pour myself a mug of coffee.

Morning to any who may be about on this Monday morning.
And to those that hide in the shadows.

Well the sun has returned but the temps are delightfully in the lower 70F's for the most part. A day for sitting in the Inns courtyard and sipping coffee.

It's hotter than that for me, but temperatures in the '70s would be lovely for enjoying a cold drink outdoors.

So, Jack sounds like your caught in the Midwest heat wave. I think I'll stick to my cool dry 70F's ;)

We'll see how it pans out. It's been hot, but there are some lovely days ahead. We've seen a lot of rain and now a lot of heat. It seems like a standard period to me. I was writing a short story away from this site with a friend, and I savored the experience of describing a refreshing sweet tea the character was drinking.

Cait I like my tea plain. No milk, no sugar, just tea that you can taste the nuances of were it was grown and the blend of teas to create it. Like wine it should be savored. ;)

Brits told me in the desert, 2 sugars and 2 milks, mate, the NATO standard.

The British may like their tea but serve it like warm mike

drobert. I prefer my coffee like the Turks thick and black, any my tea like the Bedouins hot and strong. ;)

A favorite less-than-health tea option is one they enjoy in the South. A mason jar with icey, yummy sweet tea. Perfect for today.

I'll see what Poo Ming can do to fix you that very special sweet tea, Jack.

i have mason jars, used for drinks in this household. We're a strange mix over here. We have the Japanese influence from one half of my culture. There's the southern influence I picked up when married to my ex, who was in the Air Force and we spent some time in the south. I'm even told I still have a bit of a southern twang when I get super excited about something. There's also a bit of a Greek influence from time spent overseas as well and toss in my native background of Hawaii and you got my household. *laughs* We're a bunch of weirdos here but it works for us.

Cait I grow up as an Army brat so I learned a long time ago it is best if your not from "away" so my accents is more Canadian than anything else. But it can be a camelina at times.

I had never experienced the military at all until I married for the first time. It was an experience and one I don't regret. I got to see a lot more of the world than I could have ever imagined. It still takes my breath away thinking about ancient Greek buildings that I found Lord Byron's name etched into. It made me wonder what he saw and how he saw it. To see and walk among the buildings of ancient Greece. The Acropolis, the Parthenon, etc. back then we could walk up to and inside. Now, I don't know if you can even get that close. Ohhh and the food...I love their simple and delicious food. I mis going to the bakery up the street and getting fresh bread. Ugh. I need to get out of my head. I should go do my chores for the day and get them out of the way.

Jack! I haven't forgotten our story. I'm still working out how to weave them together and get them closer to meeting up.

I loved doing my daily shopping. Getting everything fresh for the day. And then their was the weekly market for those special little treats but again everything fresh Cait.
