part 11 of the China Pearl Inn

Popcorn....check.........Rum & coke........good friends.......Jack roll the film!

James Earl Jones, I remember his breakthrough role in "The Great White Hope" Such a brilliant performance, from Broadway to the movies. Ah, Cait I try not to focus on the passing of those I like and respect. I fear it might depress me.
So how is your day it is a pleasant cool day here?
Ahhh CG, I know what you mean. Way too many people are dying these days. I know it is simply the way of things but it is sad.

The weather. It's diue to storm again but the last couple of days have not been too bad. The humidity levels suck. So, I stay inside where it's cooler. I wander outdoors to collect some more tomatoes but head back indoors. I'm dying for some cooler weather. Tomorrow I need to clean up my car a bit. It's being towed to the shop to have the exhaust repaired. After that, I need to clean out under my desk. It's a mess down there. Sunday is football with Dryfter. We don't have his son this weekend. The young man is in Chicago to visit the University there.

*materializes in a comfy chair by the fire*

I need a drink with a bit of the Irish in it. It is only Tuesday and I am exhausted from dealing with people. My car went into the shop on Monday and I'm going to get her today. Can you hear my pocketbook crying over there on the West coast? LOL. But, she'll be in a lot better condition than she has been. Then I had to deal with the V.A. that wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Doctor error. Oops. Hopefully, it's all fixed now. My head hurts. I do not care for dealing with people unless I absolutely have to.

I need to go start on my writing. I didn't get anything written yesterday so I need to today.

He leaves a large glass of sweet tea, a cup of caramel tea, and a tall glass of ice water on a tray next to the comfy chair, along with a large black-and-white cookie on the tray.

Cait i do known the stress and frustrations dealing with the VA and transportation needs so her is a stiff drink. Is there anything else I can do for you?

She raised the glass in a small salute before downing her drink.

"You know, CG... it wasn't as bad this time. I didn't have a long wait on the phone. When I got to talk to someone, I found out it the problem wasn't on the VA's end. It was my doctor. They used the wrong code so the VA came back and said, "Nope. No can do." So, I contact my doctor, explained what the problem was. I get told thank you for looking into the matter and we'll resend the script right away. *sigh* Then I get a notification on my phone that says at the local store, my prescription is ready and that'll be $$$$. Huh?! So, I go back to the doc and tell them, my pharmacy of choice (1st choice) is the VA. I thought they had that written down. I can't afford that co-pay, not now at least. My car had cost me a few bucks. So please send it to the VA, they get it to me in a relatively quick fashion. *sigh* I have another email from the doc. I've been avoiding it because I'm not particularly happy with my doc right now.

On the other hand, they got my car done in a day and she is safe and sound here at home, sounding like a dream. I hope you're having a good day, CG.

Cait I have to tell my primary Physician every time which pharmacy to use, wither it is a 1st time prescription or a renewable one. I do get tired of it I wonder to they actually keep records and if so do they read them?
I pour Cait another and a large one for myself.

CG,

I know they have the info. I've seen it on the laptop they carry around. I owe my primary a lot, I know but sometimes.....

Cheers!

He sets up on a table near the film area. It looks like three valves and a series of pipes that form a giant "Y." After tightening everything with a wrench, he takes out two sizeable ice-cold glass bottles—screwing them into the tops of the device. Placing a pint glass under the bottom valve, he opens the other two valves and the third valve, mixing a perfect rum & coke. Shutting the valve, he smiles, has a fantastic glass, then goes to the popcorn machine, sits down, and lets Empire Strike back roll.

Cait we're getting a lot of views for our story...

Her two boys lead her to the Inn on this quiet night. After scoping around the room, they take her to a comfortable chair. Cat approved. She settles down with a steaming cup of tea as her cats purr up a rumbly storm in her lap.

After thoroughly cleaning out both bathrooms, including sandblasting all the phone numbers off the walls and stalls, he discards his Tyvek suit and gloves in the trash and washes them in the janitor's closet sink before entering the main inn.

Nodding to the vampire woman, he goes to his rum and Coke machine and fills an ice-cold glass with the mixed beverage.

I am glad your boys approve. So what have you been up to Miss. It has been awhile sense you have stopped by. Can I get you something to drink?

Morning CG. A hot tea would be lovely. I have been good. Tired, but I can’t complain. Overall a resigned acceptance of what cannot be changed, and changing what I can. How’re you doing? I see Jack has added a new contraption to the Inn.

Oolong or green tea? I pour a cup of each so VT can chose.
That is a very good phyllophyte. As for me just trying to get a bit of rest and deal with aging VT. I prefer to live the best I can and the devil take the high most. ;)

Meh, we are but I was hoping for more. Maybe by the time we get to our two characters. I guess we'll see.

Heya CG. I got my car back. The next day. That surprised me and she sounds sooo good. My pocketbook? Not so much but I'm ok with it. My car is old but she's still in good shape.

*cants head and looks at Jack's invention* Well, it isn't a still. More's the pity. *grins*

Filling another ice-cold pint glass with jack and coke from the invention, he looks back at Cait. Glad you're back on the road. I've had to deal with that myself this past year. I usually don't look at the views, but I'm glad people are reading it, and I'm sure it will build. This is a different kind of story, and I like it. As long as we're still having fun, that's what's important.

“You know CG, that sounds like a wonderful way to age. I hope I have as much fun when I get to your age. Thank you for the tea.” She accepts both mugs of tea and samples both.

“Cait, what happened to your car?” (Do forgive me for being entirely too lazy to scroll back several posts to look it up…)

It seem to work for me VT. But as I age a sweet young lady still catches my eye. ;)

Jack Cait I see your still writing. I trust it goes well.

Hey VT, my exhaust rusted through. I had to have it and the muffler replaced, not to mention a couple of other bits and pieces. It's all good now.

How are you, VT?

yep, we're still writing together. Chit chatting from time to time about another story possibility but right now, I have my hands full as is.
