part 11 of the China Pearl Inn

Hey VT, my exhaust rusted through. I had to have it and the muffler replaced, not to mention a couple of other bits and pieces. It's all good now.

How are you, VT?

yep, we're still writing together. Chit chatting from time to time about another story possibility but right now, I have my hands full as is.
I always loved that chit chat planning out the overall heading of the stories. Yet also I love throwing in a curve every now and then Cait. ;)

Thanks for the explanation, Cait. That sounds like an expensive operation on your car. I’m glad it’s back up and running - and stays that way for many many more years (decades?) to come.

I’ve been good. Sort of. I’m in a more zen space these days. It took a long time to accept that my vision is not going to be what it was, I can’t get back the missing parts and I can’t change that. That in turn led to some introspection. I spent a lot of time this year thinking about what I want to be doing, what makes me happy, what’s stopping me from doing it… and just saying fuck it. I’m doing it - work can just accept my bat shit crazy schedule. It’s liberating. And exhausting.

CG you’re still the Rogue tempting young ladies in the night!

I do try VT but as you can see there are not may young ladies about but you and Cait. But I would love to tempt you or Cait or both of you charming young beauties. Just give me some warning as I am not as young and spry as I once was VT.

He walks in, sends his latest assignments out in brown packages in the post, checks his mail, and ignores that he's getting mail in a bar, which is never a good sign.

He orders a large BLT with fries and then gears up.

With a mask and chemical suit on, along with rubber gloves, he heads down to the basement with a large flashlight.

It is a gray overcast day here and it matches my mood.

The old Inn is a place for light conversations a bit of teasing and the occasional role play. So, I am taking a step back and hope my mood improves.

After cleaning up the basement and cleaning himself, he returns, sits down for a drink, and enjoys his BLT on a platter of fries.

I'm trying, sir...I am.

He stands quietly in the doorway, sipping a cup of tea, and ponders his troubles and the ways of the world. I also wish there was more good role-playing.

Redemption doesn't seem to be a thing of this modern age, nor is it starting fresh, but for in one's head.

You have to figure out how to focus all the energy, passion, and love. I feel like a stranger with a backpack walking down a long road would be preferred sometimes.

Pushing a mop behind the bar while taking periodic breaks to sip on a Tom Collins.

Thanks, I appreciate that.

I know that feeling VT. Been there. Now I'm old enough to acknowledge I'm just a bat shit crazy old lady and own it. Zen is good. I think people need more of that these days. Hang in there.

LOL! I wish I had the energy, CG. I have my hands full as is. Not to mention I was really sick all of last week and some of the week before that. I was starting to worry my family, especially Dryfter. However, I've turned the corner and I feel almost like myself again. I've even started to get an appetite back. So, I'll be a bit scarce for a bit yet but hopefully, I can find the energy to start writing again soon. My partners have been very understanding.

He comes in from taking care of outside maintenance and stocking up the shed, goes behind the bar, and makes a Long Island Ice Tea.

Anyone else?

Cait I'll have Poo Ming fix you up with some of his special broth. I might have a little or perhaps more than a little booze in it. ;)

"It's a real brisk afternoon in my neck of the woods. But an easy one at that no less." *Ish said to himself, smiling as he takes a seat at the bar*

Wanders in.

It has been far too long.

Finds a great little perch and a good bottle of whiskey.

*poofs into a chair by the fire*

Hiya guys. What's cooking? I'm feeling much, much better. It does help when you have tastebuds that work, that's for sure.

Nodding, he leaves the clipboard on your desk before going to the bar and begins making a milkshake he saw in Yellowstone. Three scopes of vanilla and two shots of vodka are mixed in the blender. He stops, adds some chocolate syrup, and then restarts it after securing the lid.

Well Cait as your tastebuds are working what can I have Poo Ming get for you? As long as you have your taste back no sense in passing up a savory meal.

Jack thanks for all the help. So how goes the writing.

Jack puts the mix in the blender and doesn't take it out, but he takes off the lid, falls into a comfortable chair, and nods to his host.

I won't be doing much this weekend, but I hope to do some work this week on several projects, first and foremost, my work with Cait. We're getting to a critical juncture in the story.

Sips on the cold, tasty drink.

Feeling better about writing have to stay organized.

Oi, CG! I think the best I can do is some noodles in broth, perhaps some ramen?
