part 11 of the China Pearl Inn

One coffee coming right up........ I pause to let the young Miss to give her name if she chooses. I notice her staff and the strange carving a staff that could belong to one who practices the magical arts.

I pour the young traveler a steaming mug of coffee and place cream and sugar on the table, if she desires them.
Then place the room key on the table.

So, what brings you to our little part of China?
The room is at the top of the stairs. Is there anything else we can do for you.
she thanks the kind man? And sips her coffee wondering what she will have to do this time to repay her debt! Taking a moment she notices a striking looking woman typing away at some kind of device. What wizardry is this? She wonders and turns her attention back to the innkeeper...

There is a look of youth to the young traveler and yet at the same time a look of aged wisdom and sorrow.

I know I am just an old China hand sailor but something seems to be troubling you. Is there anything I can do to help?

Jack heads back to the small grill behind the bar and begins assembling grilled cheese and tomato sandwiches. He adds some whiskey to his coffee and leans against the bar.

What a day...

He sits down with a plate of grilled cheese sandwiches, chips, and a very large cup of sweet tea and throws a few quarters in the jukebox.

Hopefully, more roleplayers will wander in. This place should be a place for writing and creating erotic games.

Hey Poo Ming! Can I get a grilled cheese on sourdough please and a cup of hot tea?

It's snowing here today and the wind is blowing. I need something warm and filling. How are you, CG?

*she slid onto a chair next to JH and grinned* How you doing, partner?

Jack doesn't want to bother the chef, who's probably at the market or in the garden, so he smiles at Cait, gets up, and goes to the grill behind the bar.

He returns to the table shortly later with a Sourdough Grill Cheese Platter and a cup of tea, sets it down before her, and then gets another large glass of ice to drink for himself.

"I'm pretty good, thanks if you think of all the lucky basic things I have going for me. From a perspective, it's not worth repeatedly going over the same frustrations. I'll manage and have more reasons to be happy. You dropping by is one thing that makes me happy."

Snowing Cait! I haven't really seen snow in several years, rain yes lots.
Poo Ming brings in the hot tea and grilled cheese as ordered and gives Cait a saucy wink.

Right leg and back are giving me fits. but muddling through. A bit overcast and dreary.

It is bloody cold today over here, CG. At least the snow stopped and I can see blue skies. Your right leg, hm? It's my left and my back, well, my back is my back. *shrug*

Oh, thank you, Poo Ming! *blows him a kiss*

You seem to be keeping busy, JH. You'll overcome the frustrations, I'm sure and thank you for the food. Now I have two grilled cheese. Want to share?

Well both our backs are shot so If we get together you have a good right leg, and I have a left leg, we could be balanced. ;)

Hello, CG. Good to see you after all these years!

Hey, Poo Ming! Good to see you, too. And can I get a mug of Joe with a dash of the Irish in it?

One special Irish Coffee coming right up Tio.

I pour Tio a steaming mug of coffee with three fingers of Irish in it.
Yes I am still around, the old Inn needs someone to look after the Bar.

He takes a half and nods. I hope you'd say that. I'm hacking away at what I can and being patient with what I can't change.

Thanks for the coffee, and it is good to see you still around, CG. I've been sailing the seas these past years - the South Pacific, the Mediterranean, the Ligurian and the Ionian, the Caribbean, the North Sea, the Atlantic, and even a bit of the North Pacific. I think I'll be dropping in at the China Pearl now and again. It's nice to see Cait here, and maybe among the three of us we can cobble together one decent back.

One can only hope Tio. ;)
Sounds like you been doing a bit of traveling. Yes Cait does stop by fairly often and Jack as well.

Yes, CG, I do like to get to new places at least three or four times a year. Age has slowed me down a good bit, though.

How have you been doing?

I do know Cait, by the way, but I've yet to meet Jack. I expect I will soon enough.

I do believe you will Tio.
As for me I still travel a bit but have moved cross country. I often feel like a duck out of water. ;)

Cross-country can feel like a whole different universe, but it is an opportunity to learn new ways of seeing and being.

In Central Australia, they speak of the "Alchera" - the Dreamtime. It is the ever-present past, always part of the present and accessible to those who can listen and see and feel.

Have you returned to your past, or has your past returned to you?

Tio it is more like the Australian walk about you know the dream tome where the past present and future are all wrapped up. A time to for one to find ones self.

*slinks in and finds a seat at the bar*

"CG, a cup of coffee please with a splash of Irish. This past week has been a whirlwind. I'm going to wink up to my rafter and try to get some writing done," she glances around and grins, "Ahhh Tio. You have found my hiding spot. Greetings and welcome!"

Taking her coffee she slides over to Tio, kisses his cheek and whispers, "Thank you for being patient. Fast and furious past week and now, hopefully, things will settle down again."

In the blink of an eye, she is gone from the main floor to her rafter where she settles in with her coffee and laptop.

"The China Pearl was my first port in Literotica so many years ago, Cait," Tio says as Cait ascends. "I'm pleased at my unexpected discovery of your lair."

"I think it was for many, Tio. There. Except for JH, I have caught up with my writing."

She softly closed the laptop. "I need to think more on the story with JH."

Quietly, she winked down to sit next to Tio. "And what took you away from the Pearl?"

"Two things, I think, Cait. I was here mostly for the RPs, and found I had become popular as a partner. Too popular, perhaps; I was informed that others were getting overly competitive for my partnership. I had found my way to the Authors' Hangout and the allure of the word games there, and so pretty much shifted to that forum. Made some friends there, and even met some in person over the years."

"Now, thanks for your RP response, and feel free to resume your thoughts for Jack. I have some writing to do too."
