Hee.. So how many of us have visited some of the site associated with various desktops/icons? I mean, I've wandered past shyguy's fandom site, There.com, and I was already familiar with a few of Aeroil's....

hehehe, yeah I have stuff from all over the net on there.

Finally found time to do mine....boring though they be. These are the 2 I have had on both PC's for the last couple of months...time to change perhaps.

I always have recent photos that I've taken.
This desktop photo was taken yesterday on a rose bush in our front yard.
I never allow icons on my desktop...I don't like the clutter.
I keep my taskbar clean as well....

i like the flowers, Catalina.
my current wallpaper is floral too. i like this one because the colors remind me of sherbert for some odd reason .. and my preferences of my favorite color, change about as often as my wallpaper ... meaning QUITE often.

Sherbert toned wallpaper for today ... reminds me of cantelope .. i think:

Notice how the kitty is staring at the "SHORTCUT TO MOUSE"

Nice touch!
lol, actually, I have that shortcut up there because my mouse settings reset whenever I restart the computer, so clicking on that Icon fixes them, which is why I have it in the middle for quick access :p
I only realized it fit with the wallpaper about two days afterwards lol.

Many who participate regularly at the BDSM section of these forums seem to take great pleasure with regard to 'eye candy', be it computer generated graphic arts or photographs and code which decorate our signatures and/or avatars, etc ect. We even have a few threads at the BDSM Cafe board which are dedicated to the expressions of these areas of our enjoyment. Although many who are involved with BDSM are not comfortable, and/or do not feel it would be 'safe' to post actual photos of themselves, and/or their faces ... most still find other 'visual modes' of expressing who they are, what they enjoy, etc.

Over the years as a computer user, i've accumulated a huge collection of wallpapers in my continual desire for dressing up what could otherwise be a very boring, humdrum desktop. my desktop has become an outlet of personal expression, as well as a place to display many of my tiny animations, abstract doodles, & photos. Most times, i make my own wallpapers rather than make use of those created by others. i usually toss photos together of the kids, and our pets, and sometimes i design my own from scratch using Paint Shop Pro, Ulead Animator, Corel, etc ect.

my need for creating my own wallpapers does not serve as just a form of decoration though, i don't always choose my favorite colors (i have many favorites, teal being highest on that list) for the main background of wallpaper and instead opt for colors which are soothing & reduce any glare to the eyes. And, i dislike it when my view of the wallpapers are covered by icons, and folders .. or when the text/titles of those folders & icons colors do not match the color scheme. i dislike it so much that i eliminate many of the folders entirely (replaced with a single black pixel on a transparent background and saved as an .ico file), and even create many of my own icons. Even my pc clock & window frames etc are not immune, as they are customized to my personal likings, as well. Many times i layer my own tiny animations on top of the wallpaper (set as 'Desktop Items' in Win2000).

Cuz HELL .... It's *my* computer, my desktop .... and i'll be daymned if it doesn't look exactly the way i like it to. heh ..

Sometimes though, when i am too busy to care, not feeling quite creative, and get tired of the way the desktop looks ... i just leave it black or some other non-glaring shade. i'm also neglectful at times, allowing a ton of downloaded files and crap to accumulate and clutter the desktop. Sometimes i clean the desktop just like my 5 year old daughter cleans her room: i create a new folder on the desktop & toss all the crap in there until i feel like deciding what to keep and what to toss into the recycle bin. The folder serves pretty much in the same way that under her bed, or in her closet serves. ..lmao

i wonder if others might enjoy posting a screen capture of their own desktops as well, and share them with others on this thread. i think it could be fun to see what everyone else's desktops look like. i'm including a screen capture of my desktop below.

For anyone who may not know how, or does not have an image program which is capable of capturing their desktop image ... IRFANVIEW is simple enough to use, and does the job well.

BEST BOOK EVER....

My background image is here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v714/ammre/skylinefull.jpg
it's a picture i took of the manhatten skyline from hoboken.

Also if you press "print screen" or on soem computers alt or ctrl and print screen it copies the image adn you can paste it in a paint program.

Decided I had better change my desktop theme on the PC downstairs, as we will be having people wandering in here on a regular basis soon, and thought it might be a bit much to have SM themes on the screen if I forget to switch it off, or am working on something. So decided on this less racey one. :cathappy:

LOL, that's a bit cleaner than the one I just removed, but very good all the same....think the old one is on this thread somewhere. Just figured a pic from hogtied.com of a chick bound and looking like she has a pole up her butt might freak some people out a little. :D Shame though, as I did rather like seeing it first thing every morning.

Thanks for sharing Fury  I agree, he definitely had a sexy accent....damn I miss it.....LOL

*smiles*

You are most welcome. Another thing I loved about Spike, he knew how to treat a woman - wrong. *chuckles*

Also, if he had to choose between saving the world and the woman he loved, he'd say fuck the world. LOL! You got to love that in a man.

This is a portrait by a painter named Pinos. I love his style and it is very reminiscent of a woman is very dear and precious to me. I keep it as my desk top as a reminder of her every morning.
