"Tainted Love - Romantic Horror” - the 2026 Story Event Official Support Thread

Marilyn Manson is always entertaining.

I hadn't heard of Karen Souza before, but she has a wonderfully smoky voice!

Looking forward to your story. :)
Yes, Karen's voice is lovely and gave me a speakeasy kind of vibe.
Hopefully I won't disappoint as while I've written for my own entertainment over the years, I've only recently taken the plunge and tried publishing on this site. So far, so good. Dying to read all of the other stories on 17th as I drink green Guinness. ;)

Okay, don't normally promote my diet to others, but the Carnivore Diet is good for your physical body and improves your energy and mental capabilities. Most doctors don't believe it is, despite studies that prove it's better for your heart, weight control, and well-being.

It's not the diet. It's the sleep. I get home from work and I'm too tired to write, so I lay down to sleep but can't sleep because the story is in my brain, so I end up sleep deprived, which makes me more tired the next day, so tired that I crash out very heavily for an hour or three, then wake up with no energy totally sleep deprived but can't get back to sleep because the brain is too busy with story ideas that I can't sort out because I'm too tired but I can't sleep, which makes me even more sleep deprived. Repeat that five days, use Saturday to recover, by Sunday night I'm ready to write, read up a bunch to get back into the groove. Now I can finally get a couple thousand words but I'm stretching into when I'm supposed to be asleep, so I go to bed super late because there's no way that my brain will let me sleep when I'm locked into the writing groove anyways. So I go to bed three or four hours before my Monday shift starts and start the next work week sleep deprived all over again.

I know this struggle and I'm so sorry.
