Pleasure Kingdoms Second Attempt: OOC

Who hoo... and I am happy to have been able to help us get there..... LOL :)

Sorry to be a bother, but I haven't noticed either Levastine or Shizura post any for a while. Are they still with us or not. Enosch is finally there to meet those two and Zarl, but I would think it odd if they weren't there, and I remembered GM saying something about your leader being absent. Any ideas?

P.S. How do you like the character so far, Night? As you're the only one to interract so far with him, please let me know what you think.

Yeah, JC has had some computer problems. Not sure when she'll have it fixed. I think Lavastine is asleep atm.

Kewls. Oh, and I hope you dont mind, but I joined your other thread as well. Different character, but I am big on medieval fantasy stuff, so count me in, lol.

Lavastine is dealing that little thing called real life..

Shes hating it. hehe.. Fully decided that life sux....

And welcome to the thread. I'm sure you'll make a wonderful addition.

Thanks. And since I guess I forgot to include sexual information on Enosch in his background (and since this is a sexual RP thread) Ill fill you guys, well you girls, in.

He is straight as a board, but is very laid back and the choices of others dont bother him at all. He sexually able and knowledgeable (remember, he was very inquisitive as a child), but has never really had that much experience, with his training taking most of his time. But, unlike Zarl, he is very laid back in regards to most things, sex being one of them. At the moment, he is more focused on hunting monsters and avenging his family than gettin it on, but perhaps all those years alone in the woods have made just him a little crabby. Maybe a good fuck would open him up a bit. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Enosch so far am liking the character. And you should check your PMs.. I sent you one last night about that too. ;) And am going to send you one about Sky Jade's other story that you joined.
:) NR

Sorry about the confusion on my Grindarr post. I will try to keep those down a bit, as he will be with Enosch most of the time, but I have an angle going with this one that you might see coming, and thought it would be nice to let you guys see it, rather than just drop it like I popped it off the top of my head around the campfire. But in regards to Grindarr, as an animal, he is not fully intelligent. However, he is one of the more intelligent species of animal (might be personal opinion, but I find cats to be rather intelligent on the whole). Also, while he is not a tame pet, he is not completely wild and free roaming, or else he would not stay with Enosch. So, while I wanted to express his actions, it was very difficult to do so without somehow making him appear more intelligent than a panther is supposed to, relying mainly on 5 physical senses, as well as a sixth sense that most animals seem to have for good and evil, or at least safety and danger. But animals don't think in words, so I had difficulty deciding how he would recognize the three in the woods. So, I settled on Grindarr referring to unknown beings simply as generic humans. I originally typed it as half-elf and elf, when he is at the pool, but I then decided that this made Grindarr a bit too intelligent, that he can determine a being's race. So, Grindarr is not a serntient animal, more like an animal that we normally would refer to as seeming intelligent. But, if you guys feel I should change it, I have no problems with that. Just wanted you to know why I posted it the way I did. And don't worry, I hope to keep Grindarr as much a prop for Enosch as possible, not a seperate character. But you will see why I narrate for him now in a few more posts. Hopefully, this will be as fun as it looks to me, heh heh.

Well, sorry to give away the element of surprise, but i need some clarification before I can proceed. I am thinking that, since it will rain soon, the fire will most definitely go out. This would allow for another monster fight. I am thinking of a few goblins and a troll. Goblins are like those shadow-creatures you fought before and live in caves, so that would work again. But as for the troll, I was not sure what was allowed when entering monsters into the story, if there isn't already a set monster of that type. I do not want to violate the world's notion of a troll just because I dont already know it. So, I was wondering what are the rules on that? Are we allowed to enter an enemy, with its description being left up to the person who enters it? I am not wanting Enosch to end up seeming all-knowing, as that is unrealistic. However, the main reason I wanted to introduce a monster that he and I are familiar with is so that he can have a role in bringing them down. To me, that gives Zarl and the rest of the team and reason to accept Enosch (or in Zarl's case, a reason to distrust him more). At least Zarl will feel that he is not going to be dead weight once you guys enter the cave.
And don't worry. I can't proceed with this line until it rains. That should give the two in the woods plenty of time to finish, erm relaxing. Although the banter with Zarl is wearing thin already, and a bit of physical activity might calm everyone down a bit. So its up to you guys.

well I know you prolly have not read all the posts in the thread as it is fairly long.. but we have fought both trolls and goblins.. and as of late they have been teaming up against us. So there are descriptions of them somewhere.

The shadow creatures are something totally different than either the trolls or the goblins.. If I myself read those posts correctly.

And you are correct in assuming it will be raining soon. but the campsite is not in a totally open clearing.. it is under a canopy of trees, at least I think it is.. So we'll get rain in there but maybe not enough to put out the fire.. unless it is a deluge type storm.. which if the others agree it very well could be enough to drive us into the caves early. :)

Oh and Enosch.. check your PMs again..lol

Ah damnit. Thanks Night. I'll glance back and find the posts about the trolls to see if it might match the story I am cooking, or if this one has already been done. And if everyone would prefer that we avoided a fight and hit the caves uninterupted, that will work too. Either way, I am sure we will see plenty of action there. Sorry, but I get impatient sometimes to see a story unfold, especially a good one like this. I'm just trying to make sure that Enosch integrates, without changing the current dynamic. Anyways, thanks again for bearing with the newbie.

Don't worry we were all newbies once. And you can ask anyone I write with I am known to get impatient too most times. :)

A fight would be good and maybe get those of us who want to have something to do writing again. We can maybe move on if others agree... well once Taren and Ritsuko have their fun... :)

I'm running the morning shift at work now and am finding myself much more able to post in the evenings. Now if I could only click with Armphid for one night, we might be able to finish out the scene in a single evening.....much like Sky Jade and I did earlier in the series. Mmmmm.......I'm looking forward to it. :)

Well, we're right outside the lair of the Voidmage, so there wouldn't be too many random monsters roaming about the woods.

And you think it's getting old for you?
Dear God, I have to go through this routine every time he meets someone.

I'd just drop it, but being in-character demands I look after his interests.

Ah, damnit. Once again I am stumped. I really didn't expect that question, GM, but as I instantly answered it, I thought to myself, "Ya know, they may actually not have deer out here. Now wouldn't you feel silly assuming something about a world that isn't even yours to begin with?" So, there are deer around here, right? Sorry if I'm asking a dumb question. I couldn't decide if he was being serious because there really is no such thing, or changing the subject to ease tension.

Anyways, I really do hope that Taren and Ritsuko can get together soon, lol. If we keep building suspense like this, we'll end up with a boss fight on our hands, which would be rather odd outside the lair of another badder baddie.

Once again, I feel the need to read back through the 1000 posts so far, lol. Guess I should have done my homework. Sorry, GM.

Yes, deer exist in the world.

Zarl just doesn't know it's called venison.
He refers to it as 'deer'.

His people have a pretty good grasp on the common tongue, but some words like that escape him. Words like pork, beef, venison, and such confused the Macrai-Itoche, because they simply refer to the meat of the animal by what animal it is. They've run across a few of them through common usage, but they really don't hang out in towns that often.

Because you didn't specify what it was, Zarl got lost.

For all he knows, it's some kind of root.

I would assume there would be deer of some sort type creature...hell, theres horses.. hehe... it might not be considered venison to a demon though. After all, every race has a different language and probly different names for things.

Who knows. I can't imagine there not being deer in this world.

Heh, thanks again. And wow! What an in depth character, GM. Very glad to be along with ya. How long have you played Zarl?

Anyways, sorry again about the stupid question. I will probably either explain it to Zarl, or just bring him some later and let him figure it out. I would now, but it doesn't seem likely that deer would be hanging out on a mountain, especially next to an evil Voidmage lair. That, and Zarl already doesn't trust Enosch. Probably wouldn't fare that well if he just wandered off now.

He'd be fine, unless you gave me permission to kill him.

Not that he wouldn't try. Maybe even wound him,...

How long have I been playing Zarl? Bejesus. I created Zarl and the entire Macrai-Itoche race,...on... March 3rd, 2003.

I've been playing him on a rather off-and-on type basis since.

Heh, I wouldn't doubt it. But hey, you don't need my premission. I Zarl would really try to kill Enosch and has the opportunity, then go for it. That would be interesting, to say the least. And don't worry about Enosch. He is not going to end up, as Gov. Arnold so blatently put it, as a "girly man". He is really tough in battle, but is just not good with other people, and still carries a lot of pain inside, which is coming out a bit in the flashback scene. Anyways, I would consider it an honor to battle Zarl, heh. Though it would kind of suck to have to make a new character all over again, and end up having Zarl have to do the whole defensive bit again, lol.

Yes, it would. SWo I'll let you live,...for now.

And no, I do have to ask permission. It's in the damn rules, man. I won't go around breaking rules all willy-nilly.

It's rude.

Lol, no what I meant was that you have my permission if it fits your character to try. I prefer to leave the integrity of a character intact to changing the way they behave to suit another character. So you have my permission from the start. Just don't blame me if your attempt doesn't turn out like you want. =P And while we are on this note, what are the rules regarding fights between PC's? It would be very disjointed if the fight goes action by action (with each character only determining their actions and reactions), but it doesn't seem fair to assume that if I shot at you, I can just type in that I hit you and leave that to be that. It's too easy. So how do PC fights work? I mean, I am sure that all characters can think of a bajillion ways how they can easily kill off another character.

I could say that Grindarr noticed that you and I facing off, tried to save me and attacked you from the side. You see this in time, and turn to kill or deflect Grindarr's pounce. In doing that, I begin firing off arrows, rapidly, hoping to either distract you or kill you to save my panther. So, would be a jackass and type in here that one of my arrows pierces your heart, sending you crashing to the ground like a mighty tree, dead? Or do I let you type a response? Ok, then you decide kill two birds with one stone. You move to the side and let my own arrows hit Grindarr. Of course, if it was my turn then, I would say that Grindarr is only injured minorly, but still clips your shoulder as he flies past, disabling your swordarm.

As you can see, this already looks like it is going to end up with RL people thinking that the other was not playing fairly. So do you let someone else determine the actual outcomes of your actions, with each character only determining his current action?

Sorry for the question, but I am sure it has come up before.

Damn, I finally found your battle with the trolls back on page 22 or 23, something like that. Very imppressive. However, it confirmed my suspicions. Most of my knowledge of monsters and spells comes from the Forgotten Realms universe. There, trolls are hulking beasts similar to orcs (but uglier) with very soft and dry, crackling skin with huge claws on their hands. They regenerate lost limbs, head, appendages, etc. Even when cleaved in two, both pieces eventually will regenerate a full body each. Chopping them up into little peices will stop them for a while, but eventually that just means that you will have a lot of trolls on your hands. The only way to keep them from regenerating is to burn their wounds, killing off the cells around the opening. They usually attack in large numbers, however, as any other monster or animal that crosses one, even if victorious, will still end up leaving at least 3 or 4 more trolls a few hours later.

Anyways, that was the monster type I was looking for, as they are deathly afraid of fire and wouldn't come into the camp until the campfire went out. But, I don't think they are the same thing in this story. References to clubs, etc. from the battle remind me of Ogres, which usually carry clubs. Or, you could be using the LOTR reference for troll, as in the mines of Moria.

However, as for the two in the woods, and Eeve, I personally don't see how monsters haven't attacked them already. They are out in the open clearing, away from all their equipment, and if cheesy horror flicks are any guideline, having sex is a surefire way to get something besides your lover breathing down your neck. Of course, there is no way we could leave without them, so I guess we will just have to assume that the monsters leave them alone.

Well this is how I figure it... we are just outside of the Evil Wain's lair.. and with all the creatures he has under his control or whatever, the monsters are not just roaming the woods here. We are actually safer outside the mountain than we will be once we enter. For that seems to be where alot of his monsters will be laying in wait for our arrival.

When Taren and Ritsuko finish up, hopefully this weekend. As I know Armphid is truly busy and fighting his new schedule to get it in a routine. :) So he is posting when he gets the chance, which will hopefully be more time soon. We miss him as his is usually a very prompt poster.

I myself will actually be off here until tonight sometime and then I am not sure about tomorrow.. as we are expecting Hurricane Jeanne has her eyes set on us. Hopefully she will pass quickly or I may have plenty of time to post over the next few days, because if our road floods again, it'll be like the pictures I had posted before and my car will be stuck in my yard. Said pictures are near the bottom of page 33 on this thread.

All I can think right now is.. oh damn here we go again.. I just wish the news would make up their minds as to where she is going.. or maybe I should say I wish Jeanne would make up her mind. LOL..
