Pleasure Kingdoms Second Attempt: OOC

:snugs RP:

It's good to see you back. I hope you do get some of that stress relieved soon. Too much stress can kill you.

JC!

:eek:nly the sound of birds chirping is heard.:

Yep, I think JC is MIA again. Maybe a search party needs to be sent out?

*hands out night vision goggles, infrared sensors, walkie-talkies, satellite up-links, and tranquilizer guns*

Okay, let's get out there and hit JC hard and heavy, people! We can not let RL interfere with our thread! Grrr!

Still finding time to post, hopefully this means I'm back for good.
(Puts on a pith helmet and sexy safari shorts and prepares to join the search for JC. Bad Austrailian accent and all.)

"Join us today as we 'unt fer the wild and unpredictable Jacobo Curious. Our quarry is known ta be elusive, and quick ta hug if provoked, so we'll hafta be careful. Kids...don't try this at 'ome."

Ummm....ok....once more....I'm gonna stop talking now. :p

Sorry my posts have been far between. I've just started graduate school and though I'm absolutely loving it, it's keeping my VERY busy. I'm still here though, and going to post. Just not as frequently as I was.

...So don't think of pointing that dart gun at me, GM.

Just letting you all know I'm still alive and yes...still traipsing the halls of Lit. Been keepin an eye on the thread, but ummm....waiting for a response post. :)

Things are about the same at work, though its getting better. At least now I'm finding time to post at least semi-regularly.

Bedtime for me, hope to see you all in the thread again soon. Hugs to all! ^_^

Well I would like to say I had a hand in dragging Armphid away from his puter kicking and screaming, but it just isn't true.. His new educational endeavors have done that. Here's to hoping he returns shortly and helps get things going once more.

Chess? Nah, but I'm up for a little poker.

:sigh:

Only one of the threads I'm in is being active at the moment. This sucks. Oh, yeah, where did I put that paddle? Someone's in need of a little punishment. :grins: I already warned her once, though she needs to check her inbox for it.

Strip poker! ^_^

(Looks down at the 7 layers of clothing making her every move difficult.)

When do we start? :-D

ooh ooh strip poker..count me in.... well maybe after I put more clothes on. It is not fair if I start half way undressed now is it.. *Grins*

Man, I go away for a little while and I almost miss out on the strip poker. Talk about mearly missed opportunities. Since GM only knows Texas Hold-'em, we'll play that. And since you need a designated dealer for it, I'll deal.

I sweat to be impartial and not to deal in such a fashion as the ladies get crappy hands and have to strip down first. *right hand on telephone book*

*begins shuffling* Mwa ha ha...

I'm game for that. And RP, check your pms as well. I'm getting bored and need a challenge. :keeps his paddle in reach:

This is my first time posting on these boards, and I am big fan of medieval RP. Love the idea of your world, and can't wait to join your story. Please let me know if this character is too overpowered, or not consistent with the world you have set up, and I can change it. I read the intro post, and think I have a handle on the magic and races, etc., but please tell me if I need to go back to the drawing board on this one.

Enosch Shadowfang

Enosch is an Elven Ranger, who grew up in a remote sylvan village under the tutelage of a very old bowmaster. He is very skilled with the Longbow, and has mastered several techniques that he learned from his master, such as shooting multiple arrows at once, firing off arrows in rapid succession (though this seems to lower the accuracy of each shot) and the ability to hit with pinpoint accuracy at long ranges, provided he has time to line up his shot. He is also skilled with daggers, and is comfortable weilding two at once. However, he is somewhat limited in his abilities with daggers, as most of his training has gone into his Longbow and hunting skills. From his Elven elders, he also received training in nature. From this training, he is very knowledgable about woodland animals, and has some limited training with minor healing herbs. He is also able to understand intelligent goodly animals on an empathic level (more on this ability in a bit). Finally, he is very skilled at moving unnoticed and has the excellent hearing and eyesight of his race.

Enosch is does not know yet about Trance, or of Magic. However, his personality is a mixture of fire and shadow, so perhaps he will awaken this later. I would rather be able to open up story possiblities later on, though, then drop em all open at the start.

~Background~

Enosch was raised in the village of Syndendal, deep in the Eastern Forest. He was a very eager young Elf, always begging the older Elves to show him a new fighting style, or teach him the notes to a familiar song on his windharp (like a flute, but with an added lower scale). As he matured, his youthful energy became an easygoing attitude, which made him easily like by his peers, and his thirst for knowledge made him a favorite pupil among the Elven Elders. So, on his 16th birthday, Bowmaster Lindrrin accepted Enosch as his pupil, much to his parents' approval. To congratulate him, they gave him a new windharp, inscribed with the words to an old Elven song of love and thirst for life.

~Five Years Later~
Over the years under Master Lindrrin, Enosch matured into early adulthood. His features, once youthful and energetic, now showed his calm and confident demeanor. His arms became sinewy and strong from the years of holding a bow drawn until the master gave the order for release. His body was lithe and tough, with lean muscles clearly visible under his caramel skin. His dexterity with his hands and his overall agility were peaked, giving him the fluid movements of the best of acrobats. He struggled hard to master the techniques and training of his master, for he was completely devoted to him. The bond between them was stronger than the bond of any father and son, as Enosch carried the legacy of Lindrrin, which he had left to no other. The master taught him the intricacies of using a longbow with Elven dexterity, as well as the elves' communion with nature. Because of this bond, the master had promised him a very valuable treasure, if he completed his training to the fullest. The master's own bow, Eldrinoth.

On the fifth day of the year, when Enosch's village celebrated their love for nature, Enosch was out hunting. A horde of monsters led by the evil demon lord Dranoth swept through his village, and completely annihilated every elf, including his parents and his master. When he returned, Enosch found everything he had ever known destroyed. After mourning his family and Master Lindrrin, he returned to his master's house to retrieve his belongings. There, he noticed that his master's bow and quiver were gone. However, the case had been opened gently, not torn apart as he would have expected. This puzzled him, but he knew that the bow must have been taken by the ones who slaughtered his village. He retrieved his own bow, quiver, daggers, and what little supplies he could salvage, and left.

~Two Years Later~
The past two years have shaped Enosch. He survives in the woods by his bow and his stealth, hunting to live, living only so that he can hunt again. This cycle of basic necessity has hardened him into something more, and something less than he was. His has become able to move in complete silence, blending into the forest background as if he was merely a passing shadow. And, after surviving for so long with only the animals as companions, he is able to communicate with them on an empathic level (not control them, but sense their base feelings of danger, comfort, need, etc., and express the same feelings in the same way). One friend he has had for his existence here is a large panther, black as night, which he has named Grindarr. Grindarr came into Enosch's camp late one night, as he played the old notes inscribed on his windharp, and Enosch feels that Grindarr is his parents love and protection for him, even after their deaths. Grindarr often accompanies Enosch on his hunts, and the pair have become complimentary to each other in taking down prey. Even though his skills have increased in the wild, his spirit has fallen, since the death of his loved ones two years, an eternity, ago. He has grown dark, and quiet, like the huge cat that is his only companion.

One day, after an incredibly succesful hunt, Enosch realizes that he has become very skilled at killing. He wonders if, by some chance, he had the chance to strike at murderer of his entire life, if he might be able to succeed and avenge his family, and his master. He remembers his master's promise of Eldrinoth upon the completion of his training, and realizes that it is now his. This thought fills him with rage, that another might even now be holding his bow, the ultimate gift from his master, captive and unable to fit into his hand. So, he packs what supplies he has and sets out with Grindarr, to find the one who killed his family, and to finally come into ownership of Eldrinoth, the last piece of his beloved master's legacy to him.

Sorry it is soooo long. I get into writing and end up with what you find up there, lol. Anyways, I hope you like the character. If so, then look for him to end up crossing paths with your characters soon. =P

Strip Poker? Hmmm.

What's that, new character?
Let's see,...Monsters tend not to get in large groups, and we are already dealing with an army, plus, I don't think we have any 'demon lords' in this world.

At least, not running around in the open slaughtering towns. I don't think.

And a pather friend,...yeah...

Great. Arrows and pathers. Zarl's a dead man.

Anyway, our glorious leader is absent, so, I guess we put it to a vote?

Deal!

Wait, I thought that atm you guys are going for this Wain guy, who has a crapload of baddies. And you were just attacked by a large group of monsters. And in the first post on this thread, JC mentions that there are greater daemons, at least I think she said that.

Anyways, I am only using this as a backstory, which was easier to show why he is withdrawn and solitary, rather than him just being like, hrmm, Im 23 now, time to leave the village in search of adventure. I just need to stop by and pick up my incredibly overpowered bow and magical arrows that never run out and my dual daggers of flame, then Im good to go.

Anyways, I thought it would be a good character dynamic with the crew you already have. Been reading the loooong story up to where you are now, from when Lavastine got hit with the poisoned arrow and you fought those shade monsters, up to now, where you are outside Wain's cave. I did a quick intro story, to show how he meets up with you guys, if you want to check that out. And I haven't actually entered the story yet, so dont worry about interuptions on current *ahem* lines that happen to be going on in the *ahem* pool outside camp...

And dont worry, Enosch is definitely not going to be overpowered, as he doesn't have any access to Trance or Magic yet. And if in the end, nobody like the Grindarr idea, i can scrap it and just have a ranger. No biggie. Anyways, thanks for the feedback.

And now for my opinion... LOL

I like the whole idea of the character. It may end up hard to keep his panther along as playing the two could get complicated. I know as playing a few characters in different threads it is getting complicated. But if it gets too much you could have the panther leave or get killed off in a battle.

And he's right GM there have been several times so far where we have been attacked by large groups of monsters. I think since it is a background build for his character that it fits fine.

And with that said.. I think he'd be a good addition to the thread, and if not we'll just kill him off (just kidding) :). Welcome Enosch Di'en...

I think of Grindarr sort of as Enosch's animal essence. They both prefer to go unnoticed and fairly calm, unless there is need for action. Then, they spring into action, with very fluid, catlike agility. And both prefer darkness to light, as it allows them to go unnoticed. Both are sort of loners, but still desire companionship. Both are quiet, only being heard when it is necessary.

Grindarr is more intelligent than normal animals, but not necessarily on the same level as say your unicorn, pheonix, or summoned animals. But with the creature aspects of Zarl , Eeve and Logan, I didn't think that this would make him too overpowered.

Finally, he is sort of the essence of Enosch's family, still protecting him after death, which is why he came to Enosch when he played the notes of the song inscribed on his windharp.

Seeing as I'm too...ummm...swept off of my feet right now to notice you....I'll have to welcome you to the thread in OOC for now. ^_^

Lol, thanks. Please remember this is my first time, so if I do something that is not good RP, please let me know. I will try my best to keep the story going well, though. Any suggestions are always welcome, =P

I donb't really mind all that much. Although, I think those demons are totems or something but, I don't really care. The others seem for it, and I need something to do...

Plus, a new character means excitement for Zarl! Whoo! Trying not to get killed! Luckily, since he's lying down and flesh-colored, he should seem relatively human. Unless, you know, you happen to notice those things on his back are wings.

Hmm.

Creature Aspect? What creature aspect?
Now I'm lost again.

*taps the table and waits for the cards to be dealt*

Well, Enosch doesn't really know who or what detroyed his village, so I could change that part so that it just implies that it was done by a lot of baddies (had to be, they were elves, with a bowmaster in town =P) and they had some powerful leader. I would like for a quest later down the road for Enosch to be getting the bow back, which would unlock his hidden power. You know. That old chesnut. But anyways, like I said, I am really saving this story more for later, if we hit a dry spot in the plot, it could be a cool direction to play towards (breaking into a demon lords keep and slaying him, in the aid of a mysterious yet loveable elf that stalked your camp one night; sounds kind of heroish, doesn't it?).
I'm feeling sort of the anime vibe from this thread, which i sadly didn't put enough of into the character development. But, I bet I can push him back that direction so he fits the group a bit better. So that means more plot twists, hidden powers, and Vegeta-ish player relationships. Wow, I didn't actually even think of Vegeta personality for Enosch, but that would fit. I'll have to think more about that. Right now, though, Im waiting for a certain horse-type-thing to make his move, heh.
