Pleasure Kingdoms Second Attempt: OOC

It looks like several people are going to be gone this week -- so maybe we should begin the thread next weekend. That'd probably be the best time. That way, maybe a few other people might notice this thread -- or maybe not. ^_^

At any rate, I'd rather not post it tonight, or in the middle of the week, since I'm doing stuff and supposedly making money (though I haven't seen any).

In any case, it looks like we have a good team set up. I'll be ready next weekend for sure.

Hey GM, spooky quote you have there, since I'm going to Holland myself on Wednesday and everything WILL be in Hollish. ;)

However I'm starting the grand tour today (Monday AM GMT) and not returning until Thursday PM (again GMT) - so if you guys get everything together and start early in the week, then Yoshi will not be there to be met! :(

So, I'll have to join up with you later - probably on a windswept road in the mountains. ;)

Really? Wow.

Well, hope you can find the bathrooms. Everything's gonna be in Hollish.

Starting over from scratch sounds great. Didn't mean to start any controversy, and certainly never intended to overule JC.

Very glad Hotaru's back, but just to make sure the monsters are kept busy, here's my 2nd character idea:

Laramie Anahuanahae
Female Elf

Tall, long blonde hair, buxum, curvaceous. Wears elaborate flowered robes with huge long sleeves completely covering her hands. Long slits up the sides expose her shapely elven legs.

Laramie loves beautiful things, starting with herself. She loves clothes and jewelry, and pretty, pretty Monster crystals. She adventures to make money, and has been travelling for a few years. She's spent some time in big cities, and well, lets just say the Unicorn won't be as drawn to her as to the other girls in the party. Laramie knows how to use her looks and her favours to manipulate men, and monsters. She enjoys sex, but she's not about to do it unless she's getting something else in return.

Laramie's other skills are in thievery and diplomacy. She's quiet and sneaky and good with locks, but she's even better with lies and subterfuge. She uses minor Mind magics through her enchanting voice. So far, she can sing to inspire her companions in battle, or to weaken the wills of people she is seducing. She can also create small glamours, just so she and her clothes are always sparkling and clean, even in the middle of the wilderness.

Laramie isn't much good in a fight, unless she's attacking from surprise. Up her huge sleeves are a variety of knives, darts, shuriken, blade-fans, chains, live frogs and other throwing weapons. She will develop some Fighter's Trance with them later on.

JC! I thought you had fallen off the face of the earth for a bit. Good to see you back, and I'll be more than happy to come back with Tamra.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Name: Tamra Darkfeather

Race: Elvin

Age: 20

Height: 5’11”

Weight: 125

Eyes: Jade Green

Hair: Blonde

Abilities: Minor Air Affinity (Adjust wind direction and speed) and masterful with Bow and Arrows

Tamra left her family at an early age, causing a lack in magical abilities, but gaining skills with weapons quickly. Her weapon of choice is her bow and arrow, however she’s skilled with swords, daggers, clubs, wooden boards with nails driven through it. All kinds of hand-to-hand weapons. She has traveled these lands constantly, and has developed a longing for companionship. She is still pure, amazingly enough from running around in these woods for some five odd years.

May be less need for her now. 6 guys (7 with Amon) to 4 girls isn't as bad. I still like her though, and a thief would be useful.

Oooh. A blonde!

Tamra sounds awesome, noon. Can I call you that? noon? ^_^

Bahaha. And Laramie will be fun. If you want to play two characters anyway, ST, go right ahead. She sounds like a lot of fun. I can just imagine Shizura trying to interact with her.

LayZ and little_golden might be joining too. Then we'll have a balanced group, unless amon wants to join as Shard. Amon, we might want to talk for a little bit before, though -- I know you and I might have ended up on a bad note, so I want to clear some things up...

Speaking of clearing things up, there's just something I'd like to say. I really like it when people come up with subplots for their characters, and I like people creating new conflict. However, I'd like to say before we start that if people want to add a different angle to the story, or a different miniquest, please, please tell me first. I don't want to be a control freak, and I apologize if sometimes I come off as that (because I probably will at points, unfortunately), but at least in the beginning, I have a set course I want the party to follow to just to start things off. Once we get "on the road", there are a few scenarios I want to initiate, but besides those, any other ideas can be thrown in. I would, however, appreciate a notification over PM, just in the off-chance that I have a plan for later.

I should've said this before we started this the first time. I liked VBabe's Hotaru story, and I liked the rescue scenario, but I got thrown off because I had other plans for that day in the game, and due to that and several other things in real life, I kind of gave up. I blame only myself for failing to keep control in the first game -- but I just want people to know that, at least in this thread, I'd like to be in control for a while in the beginning.

I hope I'm not coming across badly. I'm not sure how to say this without sounding bad. Do you guys see what I mean, at least?

Yeah. I just wanted to say it because I was feeling kind of uneasy, and I thought maybe it needed to be said... y'know.

But, no matter what, I'm glad we're all back. Though Lethe isn't. Is Lethe still around? Raen was a pretty cool guy. He provided the typical anti-monster antagonism. Of course, Shizura provides that too, but Zarl probably isn't going to hit on Raen. ^_^

Yeah. I'm glad we're doing this again. I want to do it well this time. I have good plans!

I completely understand the desire for control of your story. I think having one moderator, leader, guide, game master, whatever, makes a story better.

Shard Drake

5’6”
159
White Hair, Long and tied into a ponytail, has a Red tie in it.
Silver Eyes and can glow red if he chooses to
Has Tribal designs weaving into fire designs all along his arms and shoulders
Wears a black shirt with a red and white jacket, wears black pants with two belts that has his sword attached to one of the belts. Also wears two black metal guards on his fists that had spikes on it. He wears a silver necklace that has a red gem attached to it

Shard is an outgoing type of person, he is a free sprit and does not like to be tied down, he likes to protect the weak and will fight for anyone in need. Right now he is wandering the country looking for adventure and fun. Something to write about for his book. He was also looking for someone to travel beside, a special someone.

Powers

He uses fire and lightning powers, does not have that much knowledge of the magic’s of fire and lightning, but can sheathe his Katana in fire or lightning or both, can shoot small blasts of fire or lightning out of his hand. He can control fire a little bit, and can sense a lightning storm if it was coming. He would like to find out more about the magic if it is possible.
He has a fighter’s trance.

There is my character; I hope it is cool that I play. I know I sucked in the first one, but I will try my hardest to do better for everyone.

Hey, JC, control is good. That way we don't have fifteen adventures at once.

"Okay, now, was that ogre mage part of this quest, or that other one?"

Yes, nothing like a thief. *Reminds himself to keep Zarl's large quantities of never-to-be-spent money away from the thief*

Okay, so so far we've got,...

Damn skippy, Khad. You and me, man!
Outsiders, trapped in a world of humans.

....Except with the proper attire and a little trick I picked up from some lizards, I can pass myself of as one. You, though,.....whoo....

well.... i could shave.... and tuck my tain in my ass *grimaces* if i had to.... which i really really don't want to....

lol...you two are too much... :) It's going to be fun to get back into this...

LMAO!

Yeah, Khad, I guess you could.
But more likely your character will be hanging around like it's the ORP. ("Sex? What's that? Oh, squirrels!" *Dreant attacks the squirrels.*)

Heh. My character might actually get laid! Although with 6 to 4, you can't be too sure,...

(Didn't count the squirrelly man, because he's not likely to get averaged in the equation of male/female relations.)

come now my friend, you don't get hair all over yout body without COPIOUS amounts of testosterone. once my char doesn't say "ooo scarry" he's a beast.... with a beast.

I was considering evening up the numbers some by playing a female instead of Logan... haven't really decided.. May stick with Logan though...oh well we'll see..

Oh, sure Khad. He's a major player.

Because everyone wants to be with someone who has the focusing power of a squirrel. ("What was that? Over there?" *Dreant scampers over to look around. "Was it this stick? The stick? What was that??" *scampers in other direction, looking around all nervous like before running up tree.*)

Yeah, real sexy, Khad. And remember to keep it realistic, Squirrelly Man, no going backwards down trees, that isn't done!

Bahahaha! I missed you, GM.

Maybe I can get LayZ or little_golden to play a Midfolk. ^_^

There's variety in humans, though, y'know. Amon, Shard has those tattoos, right? And eyes that can glow? So you know, I was thinking, maybe he's from nomadic tribes that directly worship the Elements (I was thinking in the Southeast Grasslands of the continent), and their written language is unrefined, so Shard learned the Human Common written language and was seized with an idea to explore the world, write down what happens so he remembers it, and then bring it back and tell his tribesmen about the outside world.

The tattoos could help foster his connection with his chosen elements, Fire and Air (which can represent Instinct and Intellect, at least according to some elemental tarot stuff and ancient greek philosophy I've read... which, if you followed my lead, might make a lot of sense). So Shard could also be a gateway into a different way of learning magic -- he might be considered a bit of a "noble savage", but nobody disses a guy who's elegant with the katana and can read and write, too. ^_^

I just saw your description, and came up with this idea -- you can totally blow it off if you like, and I won't even bat an eye (so no worries), but I thought it might add some specificity to your background so we know where you come from.

We're starting in the Southwest of the continent, in a large temperate forested area close to the coast. In the Northwest is the first Wizard's College, and east of that is a large mountain range. The thicker concentrations of monsters remain in the eastern plains and forests (and the eastern desert past the mountains, thanks to that whole mountain shadow phenomenon), and supposedly there are networks of caverns as well. The midfolk tend to give in the mountain range, and the elves live in the Southwest where we're starting -- though far deeper into the forest than where humans usually go. And, as I explained with Shard, the Southeast is warm plains and grassland -- and since Amon brought in "eastern" weapons, I figure it's sort of a China or maybe a warmer Mongolia (thus the nomad tribe).

Maybe Shard's the next Genghis Khan.

Anyway, there's still lots of the continent to explore -- and of course, it's just one continent.

Can you believe I just pulled all of this out of my ass right now?

grabbin a girl and takin her up a tree, and then funkin' that tree up something good does happen though. and of course i go check out whe the stick is, it moght not be a stick.... *smirks*

*coughs for attention*

Don't forget the jungles of my homelands. Far, far down in the southeast, just beyond the grasslands.

Amazingly enough, I wanted the jungle to border on grasslands. Wow, good work JC.
