Pleasure Kingdoms Second Attempt: OOC

It's my oracle-like genius, that's all.

...and very funny, Khad.

Also: NyghtRayne, if you want to switch to a girl, you can, but don't feel pressured -- I like having a shapeshifter who gets his power from a shapeshifting ancestor's amulet. It's a cool concept. And brown unicorns are pretty. And he can carry the packs! ;)

do we have a map? huh? wha? well.... i'm fromthe frozen north! HASSAH!

iof where we['re going is close to the north, maybe later on in the quest i should be sime kind of quide or whatnot? certain places that Shizura forgets and are detours.

Oh there it is I knew Logan had a use somehow.. *grins* I think it'll just be easier to keep him in the story. That way there will be a little bit of competition for our monster companions.

*eyes Sky Jade worriedly*

Honey, do I just not get the joke, or are things bothering you?

*hugs Sky Jade tightly, still looking worried*

^_^

Yay! I got a hug.

Nope, everything is fine. I am just being silly. I do wierd things alot of times. Nothing to be worried about sweetie.

Oh sure. I'm acquainted with random.

I just hate missing out on jokes, so I needed to make sure it wasn't based on something. ;)

I was thinking about that, AW, and I think Seth should be on his WAY to the Wizard's College, since that's where Shizura is going too, and there are several reasons why Seth wouldn't be able to get in.

You see, to get in, you have to have a kind of resume from completing quests. In most large towns, (along with the necessary temples with the hedge magicians that can cast Invalidate Pregnancy from Monster) there are official government offices that award Proofs of Success for those who complete quests for the towns, as well as, of course, the reward for completing the quest. That will be Shizura's motivation for doing most of the quests and that the team will get involved in -- that and money for paying their way.

So, if Seth was already in the Wizard's College, not only would he have a wide repetoire of spells, but he'd also have completed quite a few quests already, and he'd probably be at a higher power level than the rest of us.

I imagine that when the person who trained him at his birthplace (perhaps a graduate of the Wizard's College) realized that Seth had capabilities in all four elements, he recommended that Seth try to find a party and make it into the Wizard's College for some real, official training in all areas of spellcasting.

How's that sound, hun?

works for me

now, a technical question.
when you kill monsters, they leave behind crystals, right?
& since the crystal in my chest drains other crystals, would I be carrying around 3 or 4 clear crystals with no power in them?
& how unusual would that be?

I was thinking that, when you got, well, hungry, you could drain the "soul" out of the crystals and then they'd shatter. Remember, though, crystals can be sold, so the group probably won't want you doing it all the darn time. However, when you do it, maybe it helps enhance your spells with the Void (like we were talking about on PM). I think the absorption will work the same with Tenryu.

Speaking of which, I hope Steiner is still along. He hasn't posted in a while. Oh... he's in Holland, isn't he. Heh. I remember now.

Also! LayZ is in. She's leaving tomorrow, I believe, and is coming back on Monday -- and should have a rough idea of a character by then.

I think little_golden is in. I'm going to see if she'd enjoy playing a Midfolk, since it would be nice to have one... (for those who read the ORP announcements thread, that's why I was looking for that halfling picture ^_^) She hasn't gotten my PM yet, though, I think. I hope she's still interested, anyway.

I haven't gotten a PM back from Lethe. I don't know if he's still around.

So! I might just start the thread on Saturday, and people can file in as they go. We probably don't want a big rush of people appearing all at once anyway.

I was thinking of keeping the sequence of appearance similiar, unless people mind waiting for a day or two, if it even takes that long -- Shizura, Kevin, then that goblin attack, (this might be a good time for Kevin to show his stuff if the goblins get ahold of Shizura, but then after he beats the goblins, he goes after Shizura herself, so thus appears...) Logan, and then as they're heading to the town they could meet Zarl (who is, perhaps, going to sell some crystals of other monsters at the town... he did that last time, didn't he?... and is going the same direction anyway) and Dreant could get a sight of them... and most of the new characters are probably going from the forest to the town. The town is the only human settlement in a ways, anyway, and lots of business is conducted there. Shard has probably made his way there, and ST's elf might be there looking for work or gullible men to cheat, and n00n's elf might be curious about the human settlement, as she travels alone. Hotaru will, of course, be in the town.

Thus, we'll probably meet people a) in the forest, or b) in the inn, or c) they're going the same way as the group, into the town.

This is just how I'm figuring it will be easiest, anyway. Once everyone gets together and the night is done and the quest has been found out about, we can head to the first dungeon crawl. Woot!

Works for me... I think I may use a former post as the entrance post..but it'd still work.. since it expands on Logan's reason for adventuring now.

I thought you were the one that decided you were from the frozen north. Well, maybe I made it up and pretended you made it up so I could feel better about changing your character for you. ;)

Well, yes, Shizura does have a map. However, it's nice to have at least a little specificity on the area. Of course, it's also nice to have vagueness -- thus, the entire northeast of the continent is basically unexplored by human or fae-kind. ^_^

What? No, you ARE supposed to be from the frozen north. It's just, when you said that quote, it sounded sort of like you were surprised. So I worried that maybe I was the one who made it up, thinking you said it. ^_^

Okay, little_golden seems to be looking forward to the Midfolk idea! She says she should have completed a character idea by the weekend. Hopefully by then she'll have posted her character idea.

And I sent her the image of the halfling thief for what a midfolk might look like.

For those interested in seeing a midfolk in all her cute, tight-clothed glory:

No kidding. Too bad I'm on a friend's computer. ^_^

Well, it looks like we have a pretty big team again. On one hand, it's too bad that not so many new people have decided to join the thread so far -- but we have enough as it is, I suppose. And once little_golden and LayZ post, I guess we'll actually have a fairly equal amount of old and new, won't we?

But, the story is in-depth, the world is sketched out, the path is set for the beginning but still very open, and the girls are cute. I'm at least somewhat satisfied with myself, for once. ^_^

Always good to be satisfied with yourself. I mean after all, you can really be happy unless you are satisfied.

That probably doesn't make much sense right now.

Hahaha. True... I guess... Sky Jade's tendency to be random is coming to light... ^_^
