"PM Sent" .. wtf?

Going to the "YAHOO CHAT THREAD - New" and periodically posting "PM sent". Yeah, I'm Miss Chevious ;).

There was a thread here at one time that asked the question "why do guys put 'Pm Sent'" as a reply in a personal thread, but I can't find it so I'll re-ask the question -- why? I'm tempted to go through the guys' personals and put that as a reply just to be Miss Chevious  and mess with them, and help me get past the 100 post barrier, but I'll refrain for now.

They Obviously think PM stands for Pick Me

'Pm sent'

I have only ever written this ironically; I will use it as a shorter way
of saying.

*shit thread
*you're not interesting
*or if I know the person and we both know the threads intention is exactly that.

I think it's proper use, is someone's way of giving someone else a heads up they're messaging them. Which leads me to believe that such message is either a pic of their cock (the warning) or a (make sure you remember me) heads up.

I could be wrong. But I am always right.

Hey, you just may be on to something there. A subliminal code for "Pick Me", or... whatever else PM might stand for. It's late and my brain no worky so goody right now.

Someone mentioned earlier that some people call you to tell you they sent you an e-mail, or something like that, so you may be right there. My dad told me once he used to work with a guy who would leave a post-it note on his monitor telling him he had an e-mail. Weird.

I still think it's very awkward when people do that here. Not sure what the world of psychology would say about all this, but seeing some of the threads and posts at this site leads me to think it's just creepy when guys do it here.

But again, me tired.

Call me. I want to e-mail you about a PM I sent you.
:D

Haha. That is weird. It's like the read receipts in an email. I also turn those off just love getting the phone call asking if I've got their e-mail and read it. To which I reply No and they send another email with read receipts which I also ignore. I can keep that up for hours.

Loll. Call made, message left. I look forward to receiving your e-mail about the PM. Please PM me once you've e-mailed me so I can call and confirm that I have indeed received your e-mail about your PM. :) ;)

Ain't technology wonderful?!

Hey, Lit has a feature you can turn on that will send you an Email each time you receive a new PM.

Yea I never get enough PMs to use it. Poor little me wallowing in self pity. He he

Yea and I love winding them up.

And I think I mentioned this earlier but what reply are they expecting to their "PM Sent"? "Pm Received"? Then what? "I acknowledge that you received my PM"? It could go on for hours! Maybe these people just didn't get enough attention as a child.
