Joey had just returned home from another season of pro baseball. This year he reached triple A and was told by the front office he wod be going tonsuring training with the big club in march. Joey was from a small southern town where sports were life so when returning home he already had a long list of people wanting to take hitting lesson from him at the high schools indoor cages. Joey was doing about 5 lessons a night an was enjoying it however he really didn't have a social life because he had been out of the small town loop for so long. On this night he had one final lesson and then it was off to meet some buddies for drinks at the only bar in town to catch the world series game being played. All his friends thought it was cool that Joey had played against some of the guys throughout his short career and they loved to hear his stories from the road although Joey was a very modest person he enjoyed making his buddies laugh and help them escape small town reality for a little while. As the lesson arrived it was a younger kid and in behind there she was. He had to double take when he saw her. He couldnt believe her beauty. "hello! You must be chris?" Joey said making his way over to the boy. Bending down to shake his hand. Then standing again he extended his hand to her "and you are?" Joey said with his boyish ball player grin. As he extended his hand to her. (Lady can decide who the character is. Kids mother, sister, babysitter whoever. Also, she may decide her appearance and how she Is dressed!)Cheers!

Gabriella had just come home from work and was planning on having a night out with the girls. She and a bunch of friend have planned this night out weeks ago, but he second she walked in the door and set her bag down her mother came running down the stairs all dressed up. "Where are you going?" Gabi asked as she looked at the long black dress.

"I have a date. You know that guy I work with, Tommy. Well he finally asked me out tonight and I said yes." She said as she looked in the mirror putting in her ear rings. "I need you to take your brother to his lesson tonight."

"Wow! Wait mom I have plans. I'm going out with my friends then we're all going to catch the big game." She said, but her mother waved her off.

"This date is way more important then a night out. Now your taking your brother out and that's final." She said before there was a knock at the door. Long story short Gabi got stuck with her little brother while, her mother went out.

When we arrived Chris ran in front of me. "Come on Gabi!" He said. Gabi rolled her eyes before she ran after him, her long brown hir flying behind her. She stopped once she saw a young man and smiled. Chris happy shook his hand before I did the same. "My names Gabriella. Most call me just Gabi though. You must be Joey." She said taking her hand back.

Joey stood up from shaking her brothers hand and smiled extending his hand to her! "The pleasure is mine Gabi!" he said with a soft smile." getting lost in the moment He then stepped back "hitting right?" he said as it seemed as though he had lost train of thought after shaking her hand. Joey and chris hopped in the cage and began their lesson. Every chance he got Joey would
Look up to sneak a peek of Gabi. He thought in his head I have lived in this town my whole life up until 3 years ago. Where did she come from. As he continued to give the instruction that question continued to roll through his head. Every chance Joey got he would try to get a glimpse of the mysterious lady who had just walked into his life.

Gabi smiled as she watched Chris and Joey. It was nice seeing Chris so happy, he was just as big of a fan of baseball of she was. She reached down and pulled down her mini white short before crossed her sun tanned armed over her chest, that was covered by a tight hot pink t-sirt.

She caught Joeys eyes roam over her a few times and blushed a light pink. She'd only been here 2 and a half years now but Joey was like alegand here. She just wished she moved here wen he lived here. Hey could have had alot of fun together. Now he probably had alot of girls trying to get at him.

Joey noticed as Gabi caught him sneaking a peek. He played it cool and went on about his lesson. It was daily thing at the ball park to have some girl catch him looking at her in between pitches during a game. He just smiled to himself and kept on instructing. Soon the hour was up and he walked with chris over to her. Smiling at her "well i think we are done for today? I think the next one is Next Wed. Same time." he looked at Gabi and grinned as Chris took off running outside after telling you her he wanted to run the bases. Joey smiled at Gabi. "what I woldnt do to have thatuch energy again!" As he laughed. "So Gabi you in college work?" as he tries to figure out her age to make sure he is not being a perve for thinking about how sexy she was!

She watched Chris run off before looking at Joey. "I so agree. If I had that much energy it would be so much easier to watch him. He's like a shooting bullet." She said with a small laugh as she brushed some hair out of her face. "Yeah. I go to college down here so I can help my mother out wth Chris." She said.

"This is my second year in college. Just turned 19 about 2 months ago." She said as she crossed her arms. "Soo, your the legandary Joey?"

"well my name is Joey but the legendary part I am unsure about?" as he leans against the wall propping himself up on a wooden box by where they are standing. "so you have been here 2 1/2 years wow! That must have been right after I left town." I have not been home except for Christmas time in those 3 years as I have been shipped to Arizona to play winter ball every year. I smile as I look at her. "well what's te verdict? What dobyou think of this one hours town?" he grins playfully at her loving her outgoing attitude!

She raised my eyesbrow as he gave her that boyish grin. She'd seen it many times before . "Well I love it. Adore it really. It's small enough for everyone to know about everyone, but big enough so nobodies in anyone business. It's just the kind of town I've always wanted to live in." She said as she let her eyes quickly wonder his body before returning to his eyes. "So, what's it like playing pro baseball? I mean it must be nice having people know your name, to cheer for you."

Playing modest he smiles. "Ah you know it's a trip but it's tough being away from home so much and all. But it's fun." just then her brother barges back in and asks if she is ready? He looks at her and smiles. "well it was nice to meet you Gabi!" as they start out the door he locking up. "you know actually I am meeting some buddies down at the bar "nobody's" if you might want to stop by later?" as they reach the parking lot as he stops outside the door of his nice big truck even though not in the big leagues he is making good money. " you should stop by and see me if you don't have anything else to do later?"

Gabi bit her lip a little like she was thinking. "Hmm well... I'd love too. I have no other plans so I'll stop by later okay." She sad before chris grabbed her arm and started to pull them to her old pick up truck. She sighed. "Okay okay I'm coming." She said to her brother before waving at Joey. "See ya later." She said sweetly before he brother let her go and started to walk ahead of her to the truck.

Joey went home to his folks house where he was crashing while in town. Showering and changing he was out the door hoping to catch a little of the game. When he got their his buddies were there and waiting and of course he had to go around shaking hands and saying hello to everyone. Finally he was seated and had a beer and was catching up with his boys. In the back of his head he wondered if Gabi would show up. He sipped his beer as his buddies urged him to tell some stories from the road.

Gabi drove home and ran inside as fast as Chris into the house. She walked up stairs while Chris sat in front of the tv. "Take a shower!" She yelled at him. "Make me mom." He said making her laugh a bit as walked into er room. She dug through the closet for a bit before she grabbed a tight crop top and a pair of dark blue jean shorts. She didn't want to look to good. It's not like this was a date.

She finished with a pair of dark brown boots before she went down to wait for her mother. An hour later she walked threw the door and Gabi jumped up. She kissed her mother cheek and ran out the door before she could even say hi.

Gabi arrived at the bar about 15 minutes later and walked inside. She saw Joey sitting with a few other men and walked over.

Sitting in the back of the bar I see her walk in. Trying Not to make her overwhelmed by a table of guys I make my way over to her. I smile "hey you made it!" I grin. "can I buy you a beer?" as he looks her. Thinking wow! She looks pretty good. "I am over here with my buddies you wanna join us?"

She smiled as he walked over. "Yeah, a beer sounds great." She said softly as she looked at the guys at the table. She gave them all a cute wave. "I don't know if I should sit with you." She said softly. "The way they look at me in the groccery store well, I think they all have a crush on me." She said softly.

"ahh I smile! So you are the girl from the grocery store they have been telling me about. They were right you are a good looking little lady!" I grin slyly at you. "don't let that stop you if anything come with me to make them see that all you have to do is talk to a lady." i grin reaching down confidently taking your hand leading you over to the table. I let you sit on the stool introducing you to everyone. "guys this is Gabi." I believe you all know her from the grocery store" I say to embaress them a little."

She smiled at the boys and waved again at then all. She looked down at Joeys hand still holding her hand, slowly she pulled her hand back. "Joey I can't really stay long. I know this may sound odd from a girl, but I don't want to miss the game tonight." She said with a blushed. Great. You blow him off for a game. He's never going to take to you again.

Looking down at "well what do you say we get out of here and go watch it? We can go back to my place and watch it?" The sound of this girl wanting to go home and watch the game is turning him on more than he already was. Looking at her and smiling. "That is unless you would rather watch it by yourself? Or have to meet your boyfriend to watch it?" all the guys at the table watching in shock in the way Joey was talk

Talking to the prettiest girl in town. He smiled at her and grinned."so what do you say my place?" as once again he gives you that boyish grin as he finishes his beer.

She blushed a bit and grin. "Hmm go to a mans house I just met and watch the big game, or go home and watch it all alone." She said softly as she looked at his grin. "That must wrk on alot of girls Joey, but you'll have to try harder if you want me to go home wth you." She said as she drank her beer. "And 'd hurry, need to leave in about 15 minutes to catch it."

He smiled at her boldness. "you are right!" as he grabbed a napkin from the napkin roll. Taking a pen from his pocket he grinned. "well what do you say you give mentors number so I can give you a call and ask you out the right way?" his boyish smile lighting up again. As he ordered himself another beer showing you he was going to stay put tonight and push things. "if you don't want to I understand! But yu can't say i didn't try to do it the Ruhr way?" smiling....

She took the pen out of his hand and the napkins. "Fine Joey.I see no harm in giving you that." Se sad as she wrote down her home and cell number along with her name. She gave to the napkin back to him. "When your ready, you can really ask me out." She said before finihing her beer.

Smiling he took the napkin and slid it in his pocket. "well thank you." as he watched her finishes her beer. "can I at least walk you out to your ride since you are going to leave me hanging tonight!" he said in a joking manner. As he looked at her extended his hand to her as he stood from his stool at the high top table. "first pitch is in 30 mins and I know you don't want to miss that. I know how important the first pitch is I saw 142 of them this year!" He grinned at her he hoped he wasn't coming off as a jerk because he really did want to get to know Gabi!

She stood up and grabbed his arm. "Watch it funny man." She said softly as she walked towards the door. "Most women might love that additude of your, but other women don't." She said as she pushed open the door and walked outside into the cool night. She shivered a bit and moved closure to him as the wind blew around her. "Sorry, it's a bit cold out here." She said blushing a bit.

As she moved into him he wrapped his arm around her puing her to him as they walked to her truck. "it's ok. I just hope you don't try to punch my lights out for trying to keep you warm. You being and independent woman and all" he laughed as they reached her truck as she unlocked it he opened the door as she climbed. He stood there holding the handle to the door. "well I will let you get home. Maybe I can find time to give you a call." he joked at her. "really though it was nice to meet you today and thanks for coming to have a beer with me tonight it was cool. Even though we both know 19 is not a leg drinking age!" Joey had just turned 21 a few months ago and spent many nights even as a pro ball player sneaking in bars and drinking because most of the guys in AAA were much older than him it was tough on him. "but really I look forward to giving you a call! I just hope you can find time for me." looking at her he smiled.
