I also find that something that is long winded to learn can fuck right off too! I got a new PC game which looked really good and then I saw how involved it was and suddenly everything else in the world seemed more important!

Oh, definitely! I see people making all these incredible things that are beautifully embroidered, but after looking into it a little, it’s too complicated for me. I just want something easy I can do with my hands to help me focus & relax.

The teaspoons are shorter than the other utensils, so I only put them in the two shorter compartments of the utensil basket.

And...I move them when my wife puts them in the "wrong" slots.

Exactly! I do the same thing! All the kids utensils go in one part of the utensils tray, same with all other silverware and then any large utensils in their place!

I collect record albums. Is it an obsession or do I just like to collect record albums? Not sure….

One obsession I’ve had since I was 18 was to retire by the age of 40. When I was 36 my financial advisor told me I was good to go but I waited another 2 years and left my job in May. So was that an obsession or just a life plan?

Maybe I’m just obsessed with asking questions.

Do you get obsessed with things, either temporarily or for long periods of time (like your whole life)? I get hyperfocused on things all the time as someone with ADHD, that last for varying amounts of time. Right now, one of them is the app You Need a Budget (YNAB) - it's so satisfying seeing all the categories turn green when I get paid! And I've never been able to budget before, but this is helping me stick to it.

I want to know what you're obsessed with! What weird things cause you to go down a rabbit hole?

I need this app. Maybe it will keep me on track and stop the impulse buying

I'm worried that Lit Forum could become an obsession. I just started, but I find myself thinking about it while doing other stuff, and making time to go check and see what responses I got etc.

I can see that this could get out of hand pretty easily.

Almost 5,700 posts in 3 months, yeah I’d be worried.

I have recycled bottles and cans all my life. Now I move into a condo and they have no recycling program whatsoever. Now I return everything to Massachusetts and it puts me at ease.

When I brush my teeth I turn away from the sink and lean my butt against the vanity. That way I never have to clean toothpaste spatter off the mirror.
