Rambling Rosie's Retreat

I had my slow cooker but it's done its last stew now.
After the divorce, I was hitting a lot of garage sales, and found an Instapot that had never been used (the little cups were still wrapped in plastic inside of it) for $20. The seller just begged me not to tell her mother in law. I use that as my slow cooker. (But I prefer to use the oven. Takes longer, but oh, how I love the smell of cooking food.)

Oh bargain!
Yeah I prefer the oven, but like you I don't like how the whole house heats up too. Might wait another month before I start that

A friend of mine recently ripped up her old carpet in her living room. The boards underneath are in excellent condition but still need some tlc.
She has adhd though and has done the bit she wanted to do and now has no motivation for the rest.
I suggested a big rug too

Homemade apple sauce? 😍
My parents did the same and have lovely wooden floors in the upstairs bedrooms now.

I might be downsizing in the medium term and do not want to put too much money into this old house.

Yes, stewed apple for all intents and purposes. Dinner was yummy and the plates licked clean.

How was your chook??

Chicken was lovely thanks. Did some garlic and herb roasties too 😊
Almost got a clean plate from the boy so I'm happy

Oh yeah make it lovely to live in but don't spend a fortune if you might move
