Really? Never heard of that happening. Bit frightening too.

I'm trying to give up alcohol because it hates me. I love it though. It's one-sided relationship doomed to failure

I’m very moderate myself, but that makes that even one glass directly has effect (and sometimes a big effect).

And Chardonnay can do odd things to people. At a friend's house our host had one glass, disappeared upstairs then her bf found her flat out on the bed. We didn't see her till the next morning

I have those experiences with red wine too. Seems that a normal red wine contains a huge amount of additives and pesticides . I found out for myself that I react best on German lager beers. Maybe because of the German Purity Law. No idea.

It was definitely strange. I can only assume it was a cheap bottle with hidden additives.
It did not stop me from buying more cheap wine however

We've been drinking Oxford Landing and Brancott. He can glug it down but clearly I have a more delicate constitution Boo!
