Rambling Rosie's Retreat

Oh I'm feeling called out here 🀣

But yes I struggle with this a lot. And it doesn't matter what the other person says to reassure me either - they're just being polite or don't want to hurt my feelings with the truth of indifference.

Therapy this year taught me to look for hard evidence whenever I start to feel like this instead of just overthinking and spiralling as usual and it has helped a little bit

Do you have cheer up routines or tricks? I've got a few DVDs that always distract me from my current feelings and give me a break.

LOTR extended edition. Works every time.
Or music or games.
Or just arsing around on here.

And I kind of hijacked Wriggles post and made it about myself which was rude.

But yes if anyone else feels like this, what helps?

I don't over-think other people's opinions but assume that if I send them a text etc and they don't reply for a while then either A They were in the middle of something important and forgot or B they can't be bothered to reply.
I do have a couple of ex-close friends who only get in touch when they want something from me. That's why they are now ex-close. In other cases I have friends I don't hear from in ages and when we do hook up there's no guilt attached.

LOTR is a good choice. It's the 1995 version of Pride & Prejudice with scrummy Colin Firth and gorgeous Jennifer Ehle. The Martian or Lucy are distracting too

I have "friends" like that. Always around when they need something and always busy when I do.

And yeah my oldest friends and I barely get to see each other once a year but we all just pick up where we left off every time.

Oh yes Colin Firth fresh out of the lake 😍

Morning everyone.

I'm a little under the weather today so I'm headed to my sofa burrito for a little while to try to rest up.

Hopefully I'll pick up later so I can go for a hobble along the village. The day is looking beautiful and I don't want to waste it
Hope you are feeling better soon Rosie. I have been on antibiotics since Monday. Those little pills have saved me.

Sending hugs all the way over to you from here.

I'll always take a hug πŸ’œ

Getting bored is a sign of high intelligence. You can quote me on that
IQ between 130 and 135 on regular testing and I can always find something to do or entertain, so boredom is a foreign concept usually.
It's when I've completed my days work by 11.11am and my mind says "what next?" And I decide to take my underwear off at work and then find I can't do anything about my friskiness - that's when I think "well that was a bit silly"
