Just need one more person to give you a vote, though. Would hate to lose āhotā status nonetheless. But you need at least 10 for the H![]()

Iām a perfectionist Iām afraid. And a narcissist. A bad combinationAlso...you are doing a sterling job with H's...
I am jealous![]()
A "perfect narcissist"?Iām a perfectionist Iām afraid. And a narcissist. A bad combination.

Has she just turned 26?A "perfect narcissist"?
You're not my first wife are you?
No, that milestone was about forty years ago for her.Has she just turned 26?

Maybe Iām her spirit twin. No, that milestone was about forty years ago for her.
Or that the āalgorithmā is a little flaky?Itās possible that a fan was trying to help.
Laurel discourages discussion of how the sweeps work, saying (sensibly) that speculation might give trolls new ideas - fair enough, IMHO. Is the system perfect? Absolutely not, but its far better than giving the trolls free rein.Or that the āalgorithmā is a little flaky?

As to my speculation above WRT fives being swept, consider that a system capable of discerning one-bombs will probably use the same sort of logic if a new and sparkly-eyed fan tries to support her newly-discovered favourite author by doing the same thing with 5s.
I suppose. Iām neither particularly popular nor prolific so it seems a bit far-fetched, but I canāt think of any other explanation. It is what it is, I guess~Itās possible that a fan was trying to help.
Could someone just have withdrawn a vote?I suppose. Iām neither particularly popular nor prolific so it seems a bit far-fetched, but I canāt think of any other explanation. It is what it is, I guess~
You can change your vote, but you can't withdraw it AFAIKCould someone just have withdrawn a vote?

So maybe they noticed that they had given you a 5 and meant a 1? Sounds far-fetched, but so does the keen fan theory. You can change your vote, but you can't withdraw it AFAIK
Lit moves in mysterious ways, its blunders to perform.I seriously doubt it. It was a sweep erase very likely. The amount of 5* I had erased by that wannabe algorithm...![]()
Whatever you write, someone will find a reason to hate it.I didn't know this happened but TBH I don't like the sound of it. I write stories that trigger people, I know from the hateful comments, and I am 100% confident I'm drawing 1s for no good reason, this is certainly gonna be happening with the one I posted today. But really, I say let um roll lol because IMO 5s are typically not trolls, and you needs 5s to get the 'H'. I only ever vote 3-5 myself and typically if I care to vote at all its a 5, 3 means I hated it lol, I just won't leave a 1.
I find the 1s and hate comments funny because I try to make it as clear as I possibly can, sometimes in the description, sometimes in an actual trigger warning, that such content is there (like cruelty or gay incest) but lots of people in the comments act like they didn't see it coming!
Helpful fans? One or two experiments on some of my own low vote stories, years ago, satisfied me that it can happen, how it can happen, and how they're found. More than that, I won't say.So maybe they noticed that they had given you a 5 and meant a 1? Sounds far-fetched, but so does the keen fan theory.

So perhaps I didn't explain myself properly. I KNOW that people will will be triggered by the content, however I ATTEMPT TO WARN THEM. I put example, trigger warnings that say things like, "This story features the violent rape of several women by tentacle monsters" or "This is a cruel story of forced feminization" or I put in the description "Forced Gay Incest" or "Virgin bride cheats" I genuinely do not want my readers to feel bad. But the funny thing is, they read them anyway, and then complain about the very content I made every effort to warn them of. It seems strange to me. Maybe some readers are just randomly click stories or skipping the Authors Notes I start off with, I don't know.Isn't that contradictory, knowingly triggering people, then saying there is "no good reason" for them to respond by being triggered enough to give you 1s?
The ultimate disclaimer should be category. All these years and its still a head scratcher that people read in categories they know ill piss them off, then take it out on the author, like its their fault. So perhaps I didn't explain myself properly. But no I'm not actually TRYING to trigger them, my content is just disturbing to a sane person![]()
