Reading Books For Pleasure

I'm re-discovering Wilbur Smith, it's been years since I've read some of his books. Just read The Burning Shore and Rage - a great insight into the history of South Africa :)

I used to read a lot of Wilbur Smith. When it comes to history he knows his stuff, and he weaves that into a fictional story. Awesome.:D

I'm now reading - The Haunting by Lynne Connolly.

I haven't picked a book up since I finished Breaking Dawn..I have Plum Spooky..I will pick it up soon.I know it won't take long to get it read..

The next book I want to get is Erica Spindler's Breakneck..I need to get that one ordered soon!

Finished The Haunting. Was an okay read, entertaining.

Now starting Still Lake by Anne Stuart. A murder mystery romance.

I finished Plum Spooky. It was good. I must have been awfully busy and in a strange frame of mind though because it went show and floated by me like a cloud.

Now reading Blackberry Wine.

:rose:

Finished Plum Spooky this morning

As usual Stephanie being her crazy self and getting caught up in crazy stunts..lol

For me the fourth book was the best.

:rose:

The End! What do you mean "The End"?

I have to admit, I've fallen so inlove with their adventures that the finality of those words on the last page stuck horror into my heart after the ooy-gooy feeling started to disapate.

I'm going to go pout now. *pout*

I don't believe it's the end. I think they will pick up with Jacob and hybrid child.

I just started it yesterday and can't wait to read it, I absolutely love this series. I'm not reading anything more on here until I'm finished in case someone says something about it! :)

In all honesty, that posibility doesn't interest me much. I connected so much with Bella through these books that in Breaking Dawn when it went into Jacobs perspective I kind of found myself annoyed and drifting.

But atleast now I'll get some work done around here. I've never in my life read one book in two weeks, let alone 4!

Here's a thought for all of you. I have stacks and stacks of books at home. I join the Mystery Guild, Doubleday & Literary Guild just to get their free book offers, then buy the minimum and then cancel. They send me invites again, so the whole cycle re-starts. I will sell the books on Amazon if I read them fast enough, but if not, which happens alot, the books are worth pennies and I just keep them.

Maybe there's a way we can all trade books with each other. I don't know the logistics of how to do it though. But does it sound doable?

I read some where she is going to put a book 5 out from Edwards point of view but it is going to be another couple years til that comes out.

Okay, well while I wait at least I'll get some sleep and house keeping done. I hadn't realized how drawn in I really was!

Yeah, it's called Midnight Sun. She was working on it until a lot of it was leaked online and everyone was able to read it. So, that kinda pissed her off and now she says she'll work on it here and there, but the release date is unknown and may be a while off. I've been tempted to read the draft online, but I want to wait for the entire thing.

Oh thank you for the heads up sinnocence..I remember now about being leaked online..I hope that it will be done soon as she is ready as I can't wait to see what happens next...I won't read the draft either as I want to be surprised!

I hate those teaser chapters at the end of books, for the next book. No thanks! I'll just read the whole book when I can get it.

I am the same way I will not read those as I don't want to ruin the book!

I did the same thing. I also made sure to buy the next one before I got to the last chapter so I could just go from one to the next and not be tempted by the teasers.

I did that once, a long time ago. It's doable for sure. The participants would have to let each other know where they live to do it.

And I suppose the anonymity of this board would make most people shy away, wouldn't it?

I pick up my book . . .I see the book mark well into the last third of the pages and feel sad.

I don't want this book to end. I rarely want any book into which I immerse myself to end. That is why I tend to prefer series of books.

Does anyone else feel this way?

Fury :rose:

no. i used to YEARS ago. when i read books as if it was crack. then one day i realized almost all the stories are the same, just a slightly different scenario. i don't think there is a truely original idea out there. it all started to blend.
i mostly stick to autobiographies, biographies, history, and information now. that is , when i do actually read a book.
