Realms of Peril

Niel

Niel brought her over to the others and knelt to the ground. He brushed aside the hair that had fallen in front of her eyes. "Come on, wake up," he said gently. "Looks like we're going somewhere."

He looked up at Siegfried and the elf. "Where are we going?"

I opened my eyes hoping to have found that it had all been a bad dream, but first the site of a man with blood on his face then of a bandaged elf.....

I really wanted to be sick.

But I began to get up and heard the question asked

Were are we going?

She wanted to know that too, were would they go? What woudl they do? Would they get home? Could they?

Galen Silverbow

"I am called Galen Silverbow, I am one the Treewalkers, the Elvish King's personal guard." I say to Siegfried. "Get everyone ready to leave here."

I turn and walk towards Tiranna. I see she is up and moving around, that is a good sign.

"Lady Tiranna, your uncle will be pleased to see you again." I say to her.

Siegfried

"Tiranna... you can come. You too, Langorn." The young fighter Langorn made his way over to Siegfried.
"Of course, Sieg." he said, nodding.
"Ok. Myself, Galen, Tiranna, and Langorn will take these folk into the woods. We are going to visit a most magnificent place - the home of the elves." Siegfried was surprise by the look of shock on the peoples' faces. "What? Aren't there Elves on your world?" he asked, with a smile. The blank looks were enough to tell him the truth. He then turned to the others.
"Marhelm, take the other Knights with you. Take the wounded to the town of Nissen. Once they have been taken care of, go back to the hideout. You should get there before us, but we will try not to be long." Sieg said, nodding to Marhelm, who smiled in response and began to order his charges.
"Very well, Galen, Treewalker. Lead on. Langorn, take the rear guard. Tiranna, watch the flanks." Siegfried's charges made their way to their alloted positions, before the group of terrified other-worlders, lead by Galen and Sieg, made their way into the forest.

Stared at the elves... this was weird.. and the guy talking about going to an elvin city.. this was weirder...

What kind of drug dream was she on?

She found herself followiing, somewere twords the back of the group, arms hugging herself and watching the ground. It was too much she shook in a dazed sort of shock.

Her mind though kept asking a question

Why had SHE been in a seperate cage from everyone else?

Niel retrieved the vampire sword he had dropped, then went back to join the others.

He saw the woman he had rescued earlier. She looked as stunned as everyone else, but also thoughtful.

"Hey," he said, approaching her. "Are you okay?"

He knew it was a stupid question, considering their situation, but he was just trying to start a conversation.

A lopsided ironic smile returned his question and lacy looked at him eyes sparkling with some hidden humor of the situation "As well as can be. Think we'll be able to get a bath when we get to this city of thiers?"

After a few moments of silence she asked "Did.. you notice anything.. odd during that fight? I mean. near that cage I was in? I.. don't want to sound conseated or anything, but it was like those things were trying their best to make sure I.. wasn't hurt.. and. I mean it wasn't like there wasnt even room for me in the cages with the others.. why?.. I mean why was I seperated? Singled out...? I'm not pretty.. at elast not like some of those girls, nor am I special... I'm just.. a nobody"

She rambled her thoughts and felt.. confused... It likely was easily explained, like she was tonights dinner or something, but.. why were those vampires that died making damn sure to cover her cage with their bodies?

He was a little surprised at her low opinion of herself. 'Then again,' he thought, 'a lot of people think of themselves that way. I know I do...' Sure, there were other pretty girls, but maybe the vampires' leader or someone important had picked her for... well, that led to a disturbing conclusion, so he didn't mention it.

"Well, if I remember correctly, you did put up a pretty good fight when they were capturing us. Maybe they were making sure you didn't escape."

There were others that faught too.. most them died..why didn't I?" she sighed and held her head "You know.. I use to have migrains.. bad ones, I haven't had a single one since waking up here... Think they did something?" She was trying to reason things out, trying to figure out what was going on... Find some real reason for things.

and only confusing herself more.

She hugged herself tightly feeling small and confused

Trianna

I gathered the arrows I could and a bow for safe measure and took up at the rear of the bunchwatching and listening for signs of the vampires. I listened to the two right in front of me as they talked.

"You two might want to keep up and keep silent. There are still a few of the creatures alive out there. one took a bite out of me as he ran" pointing to my bandaged shoulder.

I watched Galen as he moved up in front. His looks had always attracted me to him. No wonder uncle always admired him aas a warrior. It was nice he came back. For years we had fought together and now he was like a brother who I always had to look out for.

"Galen!" I called to the front "Why me back here? They have my scent and have tasted me, what gives?"

"I don't know... Maybe there is something special about you..."

For a moment, he wasn't sure if he should just leave her alone or if she needed to talk. The decision was made by the elf walking behind them, telling them to keep quiet.

So he shut up and walked on beside her in silence.

Lacy frowned, not like they had been talking loudly.

But suddenly she stopped cold and stared to the side, the elf witch with the uppity atatude bumping into the girl.

Who glowed.

Lacy's eyes were opened wide and she stared to the side at a pile of rumble, an anchient site of some past ruins. Without seeming to know what she did she started wlaking twords it, someoe in the shadows of the trees following hissed and stayed out of hte away as she walked twords it unheading the vioces calling for her and when someoen grabbed her shoulder they were violenetly thrown back by some unsean force.

Lacy knelt in the center of hte ruins and placed her hands on the ground, runes and magical diagrams apeared "You are old, but wished to be used, no one remembers you do they?" she seemed to ask as spirits of hte past rose up around her, her vioce rang hollow.

Then the entire site was enveloped in light and a spell anchient and unused activated with a force of an explosion.

Words, old, unknown came from not one vioce but many as the Channel refocused the energies around her and sent the spell into completion. Uncovering the artifact that the ruins hid....

The reason the vampires had chosen this spot to make their gate

and the reason this girl was brought.

The Channel found by instint the anchent treasure of this world's ansesters.

Golden armor glowed as Lacy dimmed and fell to the ground, and while everyone stared in shock a small group of vampires darted out to try and claim the armor and girl.

"Hey! Where are you going?"

Niel watched as she left the group and wandered into the forest. She seemed to be in a trance, and she seemed to know where she was going. He followed her, noticing the movements in the forest around them.

"I.. uh... think we should stay with the others," he said as he caught up with her. She ignored him. He put a hand on her shoulder to get her attention and was suddenly thrown back. He hit the ground hard and slowly sat up.

Then came the explosion.

It must have knocked him out for a moment. When he came to, everything was still and silent. Everything except the group of vampires charging out of the woods and attacking her.

'Is she.... glowing?!' he thought as he rushed to defend her.

Shawn aven looked around the town (the one next to where everyone else was in?) and grumbled knowing his dad's men was watching him from alleys and inside shops it wasnt good enough his sisters trailed him but his father had to follow too " bah maybe i'll leave this town go to the next one and see what they have there in cloves and weapons god knows our town here has simple things"

Lacy opened fuzzy eyes, wondering why she was on the ground when a vampire grabbed her roughly bringing her up and she was soon face to face with the creature that smiled a mouthful of teeth blood smelling breath hitting her face and she strugged, but she felt so..weak.

There seemed to be a battle going on somewhere close

"Quickly grab the armor! Stop drooling over the girl you fool! Prince Valhur wants her unspoiled!" one vampire shouted and the one holding her grimaced "Unspoiled, right..." and the vampire licked her neck before tossing her over his shoulder like a sack of meal.

"LET ME GO!" she screamed kicking her feet and unable to do more.

WHY was she so.. tired? she could hardly move and she had been fine ealier......

Niel

He fought his way through two of the vampires, then saw another picking up Lacy. He started to run toward them, but then noticed three other vampires closing in on him.

He knew there was no way he could win. Even if he could defeat these three - which he couldn't - the others would escape with the girl.

He knew he was going to die.

Shaking with fear, he tried to focus. As the vampires closed in around him, he took aim at the broad back of the one holding Lacy, and threw his sword as hard as he could.

Before he could see whether it hit or not, the others were upon him.

The vampire fell and Lacy felt the blade nick the side of her leg she screams as she's thrown the cut acrossed ehr calf as she rolled acrossed the ground she sat up in time to see another vampire rush her carring golden armor, the creature scooped her up before she coudl so much as scream she saw the young man from before rushed by three more and managed a cry trying to struggle free of the vampire's grasp.

Niel

It took him a few moments to realize he was still alive. Somehow, he had slipped out from between the vampires as they charged at him. He thought he remembered one of them stabbing another as he moved out of the way. Just when he thought it was over, he heard Lacy's scream and saw that another vampire had her.

Well... he had already decided to die...

Without another thought, he ran at the vampire holding her and tackled him, knocking the three of them to the ground.

Taking advantage of the vampire's surprise at the unexpected attack, he tried to grab its sword.

Being thrown yet again this time buried under heavy armor that could only fit a man of large stature she watched as the vmpire and Nailk struggled for controle of a sword.

She was trapped and picking up a gauntlet threw it hitting ht vampire hopefully giving the young man enough time to get the vampire's sword.

Niel

He was too preoccupied with his own struggle to notice anything Lacy did. So when the vampire was stunned for a moment by the gauntlet thrown at its head, Niel was surprised as well.

He recovered more quickly, however, and grabbed the vampires sword out of its hand, then brought it up and across the creature's throat, killing it.

She was trying to move armor off herself as it seemed the battle was over, the others were finally making thier way back and the poor kid looked a little stunned "Help me?" she asked the armor shouldn't be that heavy, yet she couldn't hrdly lift more than a pebble.

what was wrong with her?

She found herself laying back her head too tired to care

When Niel's mind finally pulled itself out of the fog of battle, he nearly collapsed. He was still shaking.

'How the hell am I still alive?' he asked himself.

He heard Lacy crying for help and stumbled over to her. For the first time he noticed the golden armor she was wearing. He thought it looked a little heavy, but it seemed to be pinning her down. Maybe she was weak from the battle or... whatever had happened before it.

Feeling weak himself, he dropped to his knees beside her and began to help her remove the armor.

It was a relaief to have someone take off 300 pounds of armor that thretten to crush the life out of her. She was soon releaved of the burdon and laying still on the ground breathing hard eyes closed, feeling like she could. Just got to sleep.

After removing the last heavy piece of armor - it did turn out to be heavier than it looked - he fell to the ground beside her, letting himself have a moment of peace while waiting for the rest of their group to find them.

Siegfried

Siegfried and Galen were the first to burst onto the scene of what had been a very confusing event. There in front of them were some ancient ruins, and two of the humans lying on the ground, one male, one female, and what looked like a very nice suit of goldern armour next to them. Fearing a trap, Siegfried signalled the others to halt, before carefully making his way over to the two on the ground. His eyes scanned the area around, but nothing much could be seen. When he reached the two people, he knealt down, relieved to find that they were both still alive. Even if somewhat exhausted.
"What the hell...?" he asked, but the two seemed too tired to respond. He then turned his attention to the suit of armour, which made his eyes narrow. Something about it seemed somehow... wrong... yet he also had a good feeling about the armour. Very strange.
"You two, are you ok? Can you get up?" He asked, turning his attention to the two figures again.
