Okay, I admit I went to a Renaissance Faire (probably spelled wrong) this weekend. What is intriguing, however, is that I overheard several people mention "Lit", "the Lit boards", and "The Playground". Just curious, anyone else attend?

Ahhhh!!!!! Let me tell you something about Ren faire. It is the most amazing passtime ever thought of. I have been going to faire for 5 years now (Bristol, in s. wisconsin) and i absolutely love it. You have no idea the things that go on there once you start getting to know people. All it is is a giant role play, and it gets very sexual, thus being perfect for lit patrons. How sexy is it to create a person out of the mid ages and pretend to be them for the whole summer (which is, by the way, what i do)??? And the clothes!!!! Its best to make your own costume cuz theyre more impressive and cheaper, but anything works! Sorry to ramble but i cant believe to hear of ren faire on lit! i always thought they were the perfect combination!

I agree, that's why I love working at faire. I have also traveled to several other faires...I can't get enough of it!

Ooops, Red. Guess I need to check this occassionally myself. I certainly agree with you about the combination. That's also why I suggested a symbol or secret logo to identify each at Faire. Even if just a nod to each, how enticing to wonder who that person is. Also, there may perchance a brief meeting, a fleeting smile, a knowing glance, a simple touch...sounds romantic to me. (crass plug: Romance vs. Raunch thread)

Last year our ship's crew went en masse to the Faire, oh it was a grand day. I heard bagpipes for the first time!

Our Barony is having it's anniversary on November 9, 2002, it is called Frostdragon. This year I will be making it to the Feast!

Well, I'm still trying to map my way here. So far I've figured out I would be present in the Midlands. Still mapping.

Ren Faire

I know of at least ten people from Lit who attend Faire, somewhere in the US...there be a fair assortment of wenches, rogues, Ladies and Lords, scattered about this land.
