Rise of the titans OOC and casting call

Don't forget there is always love triangles, and girl girl action as well. However I've not had a response from Superman so I'm going to allow one more person to join in Oneiros so you lucked out :)

Yee-haw!

Name: Brian Sun
Age:24
Height: 5 ft 6 inches
Weight: 250 lbs (due to hyperdense bone and muscle)

Appearance: Spiked black hair tops a face whose Asian ancestry is betrayed by the hue of his skin and the shape of his eyes. Brian is lean and fit due to his martial arts training as well as his genes. He is often in street clothes --a shirt, jeans and sneakers almost every time-- but never without his trademark black jacket. He often wears an arrogant, bored, expression, but when the urge to mischief hits him, he grins widely, and his eyes betray a glint of gold.

History: For nearly all his life, Brian believed that his father was some deadbeat drunk who left his mother before he was born. However, when he started developing his powers at the age of eighteen, his mother --a lecturer on Comparative Religion-- sat him down for a talk. She revealed that he was, somehow, a child of the mythological Monkey King, Sun Wukong (or at least one of his 84000 clones).

Brian didn't believe this of course. Maybe being buried in all those books and observing all those religious ceremonies did a number on his mom's brain. Sure, he was a little faster, a little stronger than most, but there must be some rational explanation for it?

"If you want answers, Brian," his mother stated simply, "you have to do the same thing your father has done. You have to sojourn in the west to find your true self."

Aspect: The legacy of Sun Wukong, the Immortal Stone Monkey, flows within Brian's veins, but it is nowhere near its full potential. Brian is now at a tenth of his divine lineage's power --which is still formidable, as it gifts him with the strength of ten men, amping up his agility and durability to the same levels as well. He also shares his father's natural aptitude for fighting.

Unfortunately, his divine gift also burdens him with the family flaws: he steadily weakens in the presence of wood smoke, and is compelled to obey people who display exemplary holiness.

He has yet to develop the other abilities Sun Wukong is purported to have, but only time will tell if Brian uncovers these throughout his journey.

Okay... Sorted! Tell me if I'm in and when I can post on the IC thread. :D

Oh, you have put that up at a bad time, oneiros. Who knew that a philosophy class would eventually be put to use here? *evil laugh*

As far I can see, these people have posted character descriptions... unless I missed someone.

Allison, Hayden, Maya, Lydia and Lexy have made their introductions, I take it Xavier isn't at this meeting so we're just waiting for Brian's character to be confirmed and then he can post his introduction and we'll be done? :)

The story won't be done, not by a long shot, but yes, intros will be done except for Xavier. And no, he will not be at the meeting. He'll be off...working. :)

I have to post a character that doesn't know their heritage. Other than that yes we are ready to go. Not sure when I have time but I'll get it up today.

Name: Asuka Kagayaki
Age: 18
Ht: 5'3"
WT: 112lbs

Japanese-Soft-Pink-Dress.jpg

Appearance: Always well dressed, always ahead of the fashion or on top of the fashion world. She always has a new look and pulls it off with class and style. She is slender and proportioned appropriately.

History: She is the daughter of Amaterasu and a Japanese CEO, however she isn't aware that her mother is a goddess. Her mother has been involved in her life however she has been raised by her father. She just recently graduated from high school but is still unaware of her powers.

Aspects: She has a charisma and appearance that draws people to her however she just thinks that's normal because she is a really pretty girl. Her latent untapped power is the ability to channel the suns energy into various forms including lighting a room, burning people, starting fires, and beams of concentrated energy.

I don't see any problems with it.

Going to give everyone 1 or 2 chances to post again before I start on plot. Now may also be a good time for Loki to start his mischief.

Hmmm hey Tymeless remember that character I PMed you? If you want he can join the group later on, or would you like them to be in on the story from the start?

Death, That character can join whenever you feel it necessary.

Wt: 240 lbs

Kingsly.jpg

Appearance: Green eyes, dark brown hair. Very fond of wearing dark denims and t-shirts even in the worst of conditions

History: Born on a farm, his parents died in a car wreck, it was unclear how he had survived, but nobody questioned it, wrote it off as a miracle or just good luck. Steve was raised by a poor family, both parents worked hard and raised him to be a hard worker and always to be honest, no matter how much the truth hurt. Steve has just finished school and is taking a year break before going on with his studies to become a pilot. Being raised a practical person he scoffs at "magic" or "powers", the only thing is that he is the son of Theia and Hyperion, but because they were both in human vessels he is not a god, he is a demi-god, he just doesn't know of his powers.

Aspect: Flight and accuracy with any thrown or fired weapon

An excellent display of Xavier's subtlety, don't you think? The next incident can be much flashier, if you want.

P.S. please no intercepting Xavier just yet. I want him to remain a ghost for a bit longer. Thanks.

Sounds good Jedi, just keep him doing what he is doing until you have something that would draw our heroes to be in.

If you're ever interested in having another player in the distant future, I'm just letting you know that I'm interested in the game. I could easily play a character who doesn't know his background since he would be a reincarnation. But just let me know. I'm very active, so I don't think players would be waiting on me too long to post. I got two ideas in my head, and I can play either or. But if you're full, I understand. I was just letting you know that the interest is there and I can probably be an alternative if someone drops out or goes AWOL.

HotCider,

If you want to go ahead and post your character idea's feel free. I closed it so we could get the introductions out of the way and get the plot started. However if you post your character idea's I can approve them and when I think it would be a good place for you to join I can PM you and let you know.

Also from this Friday 5/18-5/28 I won't be around at all. I'm getting married and have my honeymoon, So if anyone wants to play my characters for those days they can or they can just slightly drive the plot without my characters for a few days.

Name: Jessup “Jesse” King
Age: 28
Height: 6’1”
Weight: 225 lbs.
Hair Color: Maple
Eye Color: Honey
Skin Color: Mediterranean
Physique: Built

Visual Appearance: Image

Written Appearance: The mercenary is rarely seen, but when he is discovered, he can be found wearing tactical armor over navy-blue cargos and an old, black tacky T-shirt that he likes to call his Lucky Shirt. It’s a solid, cotton t-shirt that has a skull and crossbones on the front that reads: “Landlubber.” His fashion choice won’t be the only thing to be discovered, but the amount of weapons he carries to perform a job.

Character Traits: Arrogant, cocky, fearless, reckless, rebellious, violent, competitive, paranoid, sexually promiscuous, and spiteful.

History: Jesse was six-years-old when he was adopted from St. Mary’s Orphanage by Joseph and Anna King. The boy had a history of violence toward the other children and being a Christian family, the Kings took pity on the child and adopted him. Since his adoption, the Kings didn’t have any problems with their new son—so they thought at first. He climbed trees, liked to explore the bayou, but it was when the boy started bringing home dead animals that he called trophies that the Kings became suspicious of their child’s behavior. He brought home dead venomous snakes at first—some he actually kept as pets—and he even brought them the head of an alligator (note this is over the years since his adoption). Anna fearing for her son’s safety pressured Joseph to send him to a psychologist. The psychologist told them that their son had a fascination for dangerous things. As long as he didn’t intend to use those dangerous things against people, then he was fine and to perhaps try to turn his fascination into a harmless hobby.

Jesse was thirteen when his father first introduced to him a Swiss Army knife. Since then, the teen began a weapons collection. His room became an armory and a museum for some of the friends and family that would visit. Knives, swords, and husks of dead snakes and beasts lined his walls, and the only guns Jesse was permitted to have were 18 to 19th century relics.

Jesse’s school-life was mysteriously sound. For having a past history of violence, the boy smoothly progressed. If one were to ask the students about him, the students would nervously speak only good things about him. Little did his parents know that Jesse was more dangerous than they realized. He’s kidnapped several school bullies and threatened to kill them in the slowest and most painful way possible. Even teachers who sensed his malice found themselves in danger and were forced to pass him.

To the Kings to this day, their boy was an excellent student. He’s had many girlfriends, had a lovely prom and homecoming, and when he got his high school diploma, the Army opened the doors of opportunity for him. It was in the Army that he was able to indulge in his love for not only weapons, but he soon discovered his true love: War.

There was just something about the enemy trying to kill him that got his blood-pumping and put him on a high. The soldier’s love for combat and immunity to the psychological devastation it brought to the human conscience made the Army realize how dangerous the soldier really was. Instead of discharging him, they restricted his involvement in several missions until Jesse was fed up. At twenty-eight, he chose not to reenlist, which upset the Army greatly. The retired soldier vanished. Not even the Kings knew the whereabouts of their son.

It wasn’t long before a secret unit in the Intelligence Community of the United States, the Agency of Covert Affairs (ACA) hired him as a merc/agent.

Hometown: A fictional county on the outskirts of Baton Rouge, LA.
Origin: The reincarnation of Ares, The God of War.
Occupation: Mercenary; bounty hunter; agent; dog of the ACA.

Aspect(s): There are natural aspects that accompany him, such as his appearance. King appears intimidating to most. He has murdered, seen death, and horrors most humans with a healthy conscience wouldn’t be able to stomach. To be standing in the presence of such a deadly individual can empathically affect others.

He is adept with all-kinds of weaponry and has a natural interest in deadly objects, which includes devices of torture.

King’s performance in battle exceeds that of even the best soldiers. He has a “think-outside-the box” way of thinking, which allows him to swiftly devise strategies on the go. He not only is highly-skilled but creative when it comes to orchestrating ways to take out “x amount of people in x amount of time.”

Currently, he doesn’t possess any evident skills such as super strength, speed, endurance, etc. It isn’t because he is incapable or doesn’t have the potential of tapping into his god skills, but he just isn’t aware of them. There were incidents in his past where rounds that should have killed him were found crushed against his person. Coincidently, Jesse was wearing his Lucky Shirt during these incidents and he hasn’t gone on a mission without it since.

Beware: The Lucky Shirt hasn’t seen a washing machine in years and thus its smell could possibly kill buffalo. King refuses to wash it for fearing that it would wash away its luck. The shirt is crusty and he never seems to find it where he leaves it. It may be literally crawling across the room.

Welp, this is the idea I had. I thought about him going after Jedi Khan's character Xavier since I'm sure he would be on the Most Wanted list. I wouldn't have him do this right away since he said he didn't want to be pursued so soon, but I would eventually post my character receiving a packet about him as his next assignment.

Hey, are you still open for characters :)?

Edit: Ah, just seen the post closing it while re-reading, sorry, I missed it on my first read through. I might write up a character anyway in case you would like another player. I have done RP on another site before so I have quite a bit of forum experience :)

Love it :). Why don't you talk to Jedi and figure it all out with him how you 2 want to handle it. I think his pursuit of Xavier might be the ideal way for him to run into our "Heroes"

Glad you like it. I sent him a PM, and if he wants to collab, I'm sure we'll come up with some interesting stuff. :D

I said no intercepting Xavier yet, not no pursuing. You're welcome to come across Xavier's handiwork, you just won't be seeing or encountering him yet. He's gonna be staying one step ahead for awhile, especially considering no one knows what he looks like, let alone where he is at any given time.

As for the Most Wanted bit, what is there to put him on the list? As the police file indicates, there's insufficient evidence for an arrest. They can't really connect him to any of the many crime scenes, including the calling card. At most, he'd be wanted as a witness, if they could put him in the same area as the crime at the approximate time of the crime.

So, with that in mind, this is the one and only time I will say this: when I post in IC, please read the entire post. Details will be important. This goes for Xavier's bio too.

Oh, and congrats Tymeless. Hope you and the SO have a great time.

Edit: great timing on the PM. Got it while typing all that above. lol

Never mind then. I don't see why the ACA would send a mercenary after a guy they know nothing about. They would send an investigator and that's not what my character is. I'll just have him doing a job somewhere.
