Rise of the titans OOC and casting call

Never mind then. I don't see why the ACA would send a mercenary after a guy they know nothing about. They would send an investigator and that's not what my character is. I'll just have him doing a job somewhere.

You could have him be working a job dealing with a criminal syndicate that Xavier has targeted, and in the process of doing that job, ends up doing Xavier's job. Xavier then does his thing and the aftermath of Jesse's work gets the attention of the "heroes," putting them on Xavier's trail instead of Jesse's.

Just spotted this, I usually lurk in the SRP section but this looks interesting, if you ever want another guy let me know and I'd love to throw up a character

Weird question, but what city or country are they in? Where is this meeting taking place? If it's been said already, I completely missed it.

Lyra, Daughter of Time

Name: Lyra Òra
Age: 26
Height: 5’11
Weight: 150

Appearance: Lyra is tall and slim, with a lithe, muscled, acrobatic form. She usually wears a casual business suit and a three quarter length coat. She has shoulder length brown hair; cold, cruel grey eyes and carries herself with an air of superiority rarely found outside of nobility or even royalty.

History: Lyra was raised by her father, separated from the unwashed masses in palaces of silver and gold, raised to look down on them and treat them like the lower beasts they were. She lived a life of privilege and luxury most humans will never even dream of. She enjoyed it, revelled in it and grew up with her father’s view of the rest of humanity.

But it was not to last, there was, well, you could call it a coo, a revolt, a Titanomachy. There you guessed it. Lyra is the daughter of Cronos, Kronus, King of the Titans, Lord of Time. Call him what you will he was powerful, and cruel and ruthless. He despised humanity for the beasts they were, but he was no stranger to their… usefulness. While Lyra was born before the Titanomachy he knew her to be no threat to his powers, he raised her as his secret weapon, his insurance policy in case the gods, against all the odds did triumph.

When the Titans fell something impossible happened, Cronos’ power was broken, the whiplash snapping into Lyra, knocking her out of this reality, forcing her outside of humanity's time line and probably saving her life. The Titans were imprisoned and their allies either killed or incarcerated along side them, as a mortal, Lyra’s life was cheap, had she remained it wouldn't have been long before the gods hunted her down. Years, centuries, millennia passed. Then, in 1945 disaster struck the world, a weapon as yet undreamt of by none save the gods. It was the first sign, Lyra responded, her body beginning to emerge from dormancy as she sought to return to the human world, it was difficult for her, but her presence was so small, so insignificant that while she could return, the balance was not yet great enough to allow the rise of the Titans, her return only proved that it was possible.

The world had changed since the rule of Cronos, no longer was humanity some untamed, filthy beast rutting in the dirt, now was a true golden age, free of gods and titans, humans helped others, healed them. They worked for months with sickly and weak children, developed treatments for diseases long since thought incurable by man. Humans talked to each other from great distances and travelled in horseless carriages powered not by magic, but technology. They hadn’t even grasped the concept of the wheel or fire while Lyra was growing up.

But humanity wasn’t perfect, they had made their mistakes, more than their fair share. The planet was dying, far from the perfect balance of harmony it had been created in. New diseases swept the globe, men tortured and raped and killed. A new word to Lyra, genocide, took on meaning and the events of her reawakening became apparent. The earth was sick, humanity had made it so, but they struggled so hard to reverse their mistakes, to make things right. Did they deserve a second chance? Now Lyra is a child of both worlds, torn between old beliefs and loyalty to her father and wonder and pity at the new world around her. It is a punishing dilemma, one that will snap her beliefs and strain her will to breaking point.

Aspect: Time - Balance – Cronos was the Lord of Time and while Lyra is far from his power she has some influence over its passage. Currently she is in the early stages of her awakening, when her father fell she was only beginning to learn the extent of her powers. As such she is limited to re-balancing time between two areas. She can slow or speed time in her immediate area, but at the cost of balancing it with her own, re-balancing time means taking it from somewhere and using it somewhere else, so should she slow it then she must feel the effects of the time she steals, it may only add up to a few seconds, but she has learned to keep it to a minimum or re-balance it whenever she can.

As you know you've already been approved!

I would say lets have it take place in a major hub. New York, seems reasonable unless someone else would much rather have it somewhere else that can be debated until it's written into the story.

Just an FYI to all those involved for the time being Lexi is getting written out. She may come back at a later date. So once the creature attacks it is going to severely injure her and she will end up in the hospital and unable to help us for some time. Just letting you know what is going on.

I'm just about near finished concluding that scene with Jessup and Xavier. When he posts, I may post a follow up, and then my character will be free for any SL that would have him meet with the group.

Is that what the group is going to be doing, splitting up to search for their missing artifacts while being attacked by Titans who don't want them to reclaim the relics?

Hey everyone, so I hate to do this, but I'm going to have to drop out of the game. I have a bit too much on my plate right now to keep up with the RP. Sorry. :(

I don't know how much splitting up will occur. However they will be being attacked by titans or other gods, scions, mythical creatures throughout the process. However with a thread this big and several other subplots going on already it makes sense that people will be separated and that may actually help things to keep flowing until we tie things back together. After tomorrow or friday I won't be posting for a little over a week so you guys will have to write my character in or we can assume that I've dragged Lexy off to the hospital and will meet back up with everyone when I return.

Okay the hell hound will be able to injure your character as well. That way your not killed off or just ignored and then can come back when and if you want.

All right then, if anyone would like to plot something with me before the GM disappears that would be great. She's going to be gone for a week, and to keep the RP from stagnating (as some may be waiting for her to return in order to guide the story along), I hope that we can come up with some plots to give everyone something to do so the RP doesn't just die while she's gone.

Well it's pretty clear that Lyra wants the heroes out of the way, you're a mercenary and she has access to several secret stashes of ancient titan treasure as well as whatever she can conjure up. When she learns of your reincarnation I'm sure she'd find it wonderfully ironic to hire you to kill them, they could either disable you and explain your powers (unlikely but possible as you currently seem to have few powers other than being bulletproof ;) ). Or, alternatively you're actually a more moral mercenary and wonder why exactly and anonymous woman would want these people dead. You decide to negotiate instead of going after them?

And Tymeless, if you post having Allison duck or punching the Hellhound or something I'm sure I can write a new post with it attacking SweetAsSuga's character :)

That sounds good lol. As for morals, you may be talking about the wrong man. Jessup is practically neutral since he goes wherever the war is. He can't resist a tough job. I'm sure Lyra is going to be sounding crazy to him when she approaches him about killing gods. I think my character's cunning will be the only thing to give him a slight advantage, but then again, they have a Muse on their team so probably not so much lol. Whatever happens, happens though.

Lydia has to get to her home where her books are at some point. She'll be out in the open then and I had it in mind that she lived in the part of town where all Jesse's stuff was taking place.

She could be his first target then.

There Tight. I posted Allison dodging. I won't post again until the others do something.

total inspiration

you guys have inspired me to go find a game to join. I got sucked into the complexity of the whole process. I couldn't help but keep scrolling the page down to read more. Until there was none left. lol. (sad face*). I'm excited to see how the story developes. I like the idea of the "heros" meeting.

------If i could ask for a preview, I'm curious to know if everyone is going to be "called" upon by an organization (like superheros), or will it be a bunch of chance meetings/ giant plot that brings them together.?

-----Anyways, Congrats on the wedding too. And keep up the great writing (collaborating). This is going to be AWESOME!

sincerely,
-A happy Kitten.

There isn't an organization at least not yet. They may become the organization.

Sorry to see you go. Hope you can make it back to us at some point.

Posted, Maya is out of the game, Lyra's not gonna need you at this rate HotCider :L. I may keep this Hound as a pet :). Any ideas for names?

@SweetAsSuga + Lexavier: You've only got a broken arm by this point and Lexy has suffered similar wounds Lexavier, both of you should be fine to come back at some point should you choose too :)

lol If people keep leaving there won't be anyone to menace. o_o

At least as people leave, new people can get accepted to replace them so it's not a ghost town. Having them organized into an organization may be better than just not having any organization at all because it just puts everyone on common ground and atmosphere. Like The Avengers or X-men, etc.
