Rock & Roll Trivia

Sting's real name is Gordon Sumner.

Neal Schon came to Journey from Santana, as did Gregg Rolie, who was technically the original lead vocalist, & wrote or co-wrote some of their stuff. But then you could mean Robert Fleischman, who was the first official lead vocalist, & co-wrote early classics such as "Wheel in the Sky".

Right you are.

However, Fleischman was with Journey for less than a year, in 1977. Journey had been around for a good five years before that, with Greg Rolie on lead vocals, who left before the band went 'big time.'

It was about that time that Steve Perry (the bastard) took over and paradoxically advanced and nearly killed the band.

What band was originally known as the Moving SideWalks?

ZZ Top?

Who played lead guitar on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" by the Beatles.

Clapton

Which 80s pop singer turned down the role of Marty McFly in "Back To The Future?"

He also turned down the gig to record "Dangerzone" for "Top Gun."

just a guess...

Rick Springfield

Per Beatles drummers:

I read that Paul McCartney was a better drummer than Ringo and he played on some of their later work when Ringo didn't show up for sessions.

Eric Stoltz (Marty McFly)

I'd heard that as well, and Stolz may have tried out for the part, but that's not the answer I was looking for.

Hint: think sunglasses. ;)

Here is one:

What is the most famous chord in Rock and Roll history?

Yeah, you got it. Corey Hart it was. Weird, huh? he turned down the role because he wanted to concentrate on his music. Worked out well for him, didn't it? :p

Who was Paul McCartney writing about in the song "Martha My Dear"?

in 1985, Jim Steinman (yes, Jim himself, not Meat Loaf) sang a duet with a well-known singer on "Left In The Dark."

Who was she?

He played all the instruments and did all the vocals on his first solo album 'McCartney.'
