Ropework photos

You forget I grew up not but 45 mins away from your granddad's farm, mister. I know redneck. I have two words for you: Erwin, TN. *nods* Any place that hangs an elephant is seriously screwed up.

Okay Gigi. I asked Homburg how and why you would hang an elephant.

As to the how he replied "um with a lot of rope".

As to the why - well that isn't fit for public consumption.

What's the story on hanging an elephant? I have to know. It's killing me.

Hmm, well, it doesn't help you. He's enjoying it. ;)

It is all about me.

I really did say "um with a lot of rope". And, wow, she ain't kiddin' when she says the rest of the explanation is not fit for public consumption.

Bad Homburg.

Thanks! I dig the side suspension, and the loveseat pic as well. Good stuff.

Interesting story =)

Well, my continued interest in weaving and macrame has produced another collar/choker.

This one was interesting, and was inspired by a conversation with a friend. Were I to do it again, I would add more length. Literally a few more inches would've helped, as it would've allowed me to backweave the leads into the body. I would also NOT use rayon for the cord. Feels nice, but is a pain in the ass to work with. It's bloody slippery

The buckle is neat, and decorative. Slipping a lock through the center makes it secure. My preference for this would be to weave it long and simply tie it in the back. Some people want more security, thus the buckle/clasp. I could also see doing this with a smaller cord as a decorative choker. As some beads or stones, and you could have a very pretty piece.

Enjoy. And, yes, I will be doign at least one more.

Oh ghad. Poor thing. At least they could have done it quickly. The odd thing is how they say that dismemberment would have been cruel, yet the way she died...OYE.

This is really cool. I'm digging the design and the buckle. Nice color too. Any thoughts on selling any of your creations? I think you'd have a successfull little side business there. Ayup.

You are SUCH a tease! :p
And if you didn't enjoy it so much, I wouldn't do it. :p He does have a couple photos of me in the new lingerie he bought me. Not the best photos. But enough to see what the things are. They're on his camera though, sorry.

I want that buckle, Homburg.

Eh, not really. I'm not really happy enough with them to consider selling them commercially. I'd need a lot of work to get to that point.

The hardest part is finishing them and backweaving into the body in a clean enough fashion. I can't really say that the way I'm currently doing it is finished looking enough to be commercial quality.

Though, as a choker, with a tied closure, it would work just fine.

Sorry, hon. Only one of its' kind, realistically. I've had it for literally 20 years, and no idea where it came from. A friend of mine used it as a belt buckle, and I don't even remember how I got it. Something about a bet or somesuch.

The test was overall successful. The weave is repeatably and visually interesting. I'm basically happy with it.

If you ever come and visit, I have to talk to your Master about some punishment for you being a tease!

Drat. I've got stuff I've had for ages like that too. Not much quite that useful though. LOL Well, not for such items. ;) Unless you have use for the ugly old yarns my Grandmother had. Hehe.

Yeah, yeah. You're just talk. ;) Perhaps you should tease me more in my thread so Homburg doesn't yell at us?

what would you use if not rayon... it looks like it has to be pretty thin rope to hold that pattern

Wow, Homburg, the second collar with the buckle does really look lovely to wear......

Beautifully done, methinks!

Heh, I know that feeling.

Various sorts of cording will work. Craft and fabric stores have all sorts of things. I need to find the right 1-1.5mm twisted cord for the next time I do this.

I realised that the back actually looks prettier. Next time I do it, I'll turn the buckles or whatnot the other way.

So I'm a southerner who's lived in more more than one southern city, some deeper than others. But I'm an animal supporter. So mourning Mary....

Homburg!

I am seriously blinded by the rope color - I mean, I love, love, love it! And you know how much I love macrame....but gawd! I love the color!

I know...lots of exclamation points. I'm boycotting those for a while. Now that I''m back where the sun shines......

When dying nylon ropes, do NOT use Dylon Dye. I know, sounds crazy, but it's true. Dylon sucks, and basically washes out. You'd think that a fabric store would carry good dye. Nope. Get Rit. It works better. Or get the good dyes from Dharma Trading Company.

While I haven't dyed rope before, I have had experience dying nylon and have found the best success with Jacquard acid dyes. They come in a huge range of colors as well as in economical quantities. Oh, and they're not at all toxic as vinegar is the acid in the process.

While I have a local artists' supply store where I can buy them, I love, love, love Dharma Trading. (no affiliation, just a happy customer)

Every time I hit Dharma Trading Co I find something new that catches my eye. I've a good friend that wants me to do some work for her in rope, and she's very natural as a person, so I found a source for organic, vegan, etc rope in the raw (Rawganique ). I plan to hand condition it and dye it myself, as that, to me, is more personal. (Monk's rope is vegan, organic, cruelty-free, etc and all that, I just want to process this myself because she's a friend.) I plan to use DTC's dyes simply because they're such a great company.

Basically, I can put something together for someone with rope some other guy worked, but it is more meaningful if I do it all myself.

And, wow, they've got some cool shirts.

Dying some nylon for a project. Should be fun. Always interesting to dye nylon/poly blend. You really never know what it is going to look like. The pure nylon stuff took to the dye beautifully.

I also got some rope near viv. Not enough to make for a good photo, and I was a bit too involved, but, hey, at least I was tying.

Aaawwwww! :(

*beams over to her with a HUUUUGE box of chocolate*

Sorry for the hijack, dear Homburg, I couldn't let her sit in distress....

Feel better soon, rebecca.

: sniffles : One would think Mr Homburg, that with all the macramé availing itself in this thread , one might find a nice hammock strung up somewhere for one's precious self to recuperate from the modern equivalent of the Black Plague. The collars Mr Homburg are exquisite , I had a small lurk yesterday, think they top my favorites for craftsmanship and providence ever.

The ravages of said dalliance with the Black Plague not yet a memory and I do not recall either Dominant nor sadist ( combined = winner ) that has put me through worse over such an extended time frame. You pussies ! OMG did I just call ALL dominants with the potential to read this, pussies ( waves to DVS, EG, Mr Masters ,Mr Midwestyankee, Sir Winston, Netz, Mr Fung, Mr Mohegan, Shankara, Mr Noir .........never ever make a list again) oops. I must have another fever.

Ohhh protect me Mr Homburg : flails about though kind of superb :

Are you putting up the link for voting for the Bondage Awards ?

PS Sending me Youporn Links for 'when you're feeling better' was not as offensive as you meant it to be : smiles : You know whom you are !
