Ukin: I believe that both Ireland's 32 and O'Reilly's have hotels nearby.

Then either of those get my vote lass. It is the 6th of September isn't it? The Friday night? I might just book a hotel anyway..then I know I am safe and not tempted to drive :)

Either way there's an awful lot of psychobabble going on in this thread!

Can't we just set a date for another meeting and get there? Why does it have to be thought out or processed to the Nth degree? Egad! I thought a little social gathering would be just that fer 'eaven's sake.

I'll put my money where my mouth is. How about September 7th at An Bodhran, 7:00 p.m. Be there or be square. :p

:D

Ukin - the 7th... Saturday. ;)

Damn..I have a golf match on the Sunday..however, I missed the last one, I don't want to miss this one..so I will be there and leave for the golf next morning-providing I book the hotel..which I am convinced that I will...54 miles is too far to drive after a couple of beers..best to be safe than sorry:)

Bravo!

A firm commitment, at last!

Now we just have to get a cast of votes on the location...

Given Ukin's preference for a site convenient to a hotel, the choice (barring any dissenting votes) seems to be between Ireland's 32 and O'Reilly's.

What'll it be, folks?

Sufi, Chromefreak, OTV, Lady Sam, Orwell, F!rstRåte... anyone else?

Hotels nearby? Snicker! I like Irelands 32 and O'Reilly's. Both of those bars are very comfy, and getting to them is as easy as parking (your car that is).

Somehow, I just love the parody of online names and online nuances…as if either one was to equate to something desired or to meet the ultimate…never mind, ha!

Oh joy! Count me in, but we will take it by ear…

Snickers? I do hope they serve something more substantial than that. However, do I detect a hidden meaning behind the post? ;)
I merely wish a hotel as I don't like to drink and drive and living 54 miles away, I need to drive..and I do so like a drink :)

Well, sheesh, if I knew ya better, I would offer my couch, which is a few from the bars listed above. Now, Ukin, there is always something behind another meaning, no? Not pretaining to anyone in particular, mind me. Anyhoo, since you are far from home, I am sure many caring souls will comfort and place you safe under angelic wings.

Since I've never been to any of the places, nor am I sure I'll be done at the wedding reception in time, or sober enough after the reception to function normally, I'm pretty much counting myself out at this point.

It doesn't sound like I'll have any objections to any of 'em, though, from the descriptions listed.

I'll leave the first or second weekend in October open, take Golden Gate Transit down (Or drive the Plymouth, if I HAVE to), visit some friends in the city during the day, Etc. and crash at their place in the Sunset after meeting up with everyone.

Anyone know if GGT runs on weekends?

Hi Huntress, Ukin, and all. I would like to attend, but need to attend another function during the day in the East Bay. Count me in as a tentative "yes."

Any of the suggested locations where parking is reasonable would be fine with me. Did I miss it, or is the meeting time still open? Also, since I've never met any of you, how do I find the right group? I suspect that the suggested locales may have lots of people in them on Saturday night. I suppose I could just walk in and yell, "WHERE'S THE LITEROTICA GROUP", then again, I suppose not. LOL.

I'll check in here ealry next week. In the mean time here's wishing you all a good holiday weekend...

Look for a group of folks who appear nervous and perhaps a bit self-conscious... or a tall redhead quaffing a pint of dark stuff with a good head. ;) Either way, we'll find each other.

Too Much

Huntress, your latest av is killin me. Maybe my imagination is too well fueled by "pints of dark STUFF with a good head", but I see way too much for someone you've never met!

I think we can TELL the BARTENDER we're looking for members of a group from LIT. He'll point you to the right group.

We can carpool from the east bay, centering in Berkeley, if convenient for you, Orwell.

Chrome freak, where's the wedding?

Nahh, you would never know it was "me" or the fact that behind that figure was something to reckon with, ha! It's lovely being understated, but it's suprisingly delightful to shed a burning fire contained within. Anyhoo, I found a nice outfit for the next gathering, of sorts and crooked connections, where I prefer only blue jeans, a button fitted shirt and sandles, but nothing else in between.

It's so lovely in S.F. as of late, and I am looking forward to every moment to explore and embrace all there is…

Later chumps :)

Hi, Sufi, I can probably swing by and pick you up. I'll be heading into S.F. from Benecia. But since I live in the South Bay, Berkeley would be in the wrong direction when I head home, so that could be a problem. Let me know your thoughts.

As to the rest of the group, did you ever decide firmly on the time and place?

maybe carpool is not good idea

time was 7pm wasn't it?
but you know what we done with the last set of stone tablets
if 8 get's better turnout, then 8 it must be
first Sat in sept, yes Huntress? the 7th?
as for place, one of two, with best parking? are we really such whussies that parking becomes the raison d'etre?

otv, if you become more scrutable I shall fear for your health.
I've actually gotten to a place where I look forward to the brain twisting your entries put me thru
if you should take a hiatus, it would be sort of like missing yoga class
someday an apaplexy may be in your future when someone says to you, "I understand exactly what you mean!"
All I can say is watch out-I'm a pretty smart guy and I'm onto you, agent provacateur!

chromefreak, what kind of car is that in your av?

You know, through all of this planning, I failed to realize that I will be working that evening, bummer! I doubt I can get off (work that is), but I hope you all have a wonderful time. Maybe if you all are still there late? If not, send me a post card and tell me how it was like please.

Sufi, I come in many flavors, and I might communicate in such an unorthadox manner, but you would have to engage in a face to face conversation to actually get my angles. Actually, to the few with a cynical taste, and a penchant for the strange, but inviting things in life do know me. Hey, I am as easy as lemonade and blue jeans in the country…maybe!

Mad Max's Australian Ford Falcon XB GT. I love the automotive monstrosities used in the first 2 Mad Max flicks.

Production version of this car didn't have the additional "Hardware"

grrrr

how late do ya work?

a Falcon!?!?
I know nitrous, super charged.....

Can a voyeur attend and are looks important

Hey there people, I was wondering if you don't mind an onlooker who is not a looker himself?

I would love to attend your wonderful get together. I am quite the voyeur, or would love to be, and I would love to be there when it all goes down, persay. :)

What do you say? Am I in? ;)
