*'Sanctuary' for Us *

Helen was in a difficult position. So much was going on around her and yet she was focused on Ashley and the baby being born. "It's going to kill her soon if we don't get it out..."

Tesla interrupted, "That's a person in there, Helen. MY daughter. Don't hurt her."

Helen flashed him an angry look, "MY grandchild AND MY daughter will be fine if you let me do what's needed."

He grimaced and took a step back slightly, making allowance for Will to assist Helen if needed. He hated the idea that someone might be more useful in this situation than himself but in this instance Will was better trained for medical emergencies than the elder scientist vampire hovering just behind him impatiently, "Then, you guys had better get a move on. Nikole won't wait forever to be born."

Will

His training started to kick in. They had maybe a minute before the baby would be out and so he ditched the gun and grabbed a medkit to sterilize himself and prep the area for the baby. She was dialated and the baby was starting to crown. After telling Ashley to push when he told her, he took charge of Helen and told her to help Ashley supportively and ignored the "I'm already doing that look."
"This baby is almost ready to come out. One more push ashley come on!" He encouraged.

Henry

He listened and watched through a camera at Isis and Lyda heading towards the medbay and then was trying to divert them by putting up the holding walls the halls.
That slowed them enough to get there after teh baby was born.

Kate

Henry What the hell we don't need Isis completely snapping here in the halls.

She was getting aggitated and worried she would have to trank Isis which would give Worth a chance to get away.

Lyda

Radioing in too. For now make her think she is in fact headed to the roof that might keep her balanced though I don't know how long both sides can be "alert" like this without causing trouble. TO get to the bottom of all of this everyone needs to be focused. Though the max security Med chamber... seal it against Radiation and teleportation just in case please Henry. I would say make it air tight once Worth was in there but I think mother Helen Nikola and John might want the pleasure of killing him themselves.

OOC: Thanks for moving things along in my long absence. My apologies. Real life can sometimes be a demanding little bitch...We'll wait for the rest of the birth to happen on Lisa's watch. She's currently spending her boyfriend's 10 day leave from the frontlines with him. I would wait until she's back from her holiday and give her a chance for a good Ashley moment of PUUUUUUUUSH! ;)

Ashley Magnus

Ashley felt the urge to push hard and yet needed the mental support of de Blythe which she was clearly being denied. She felt the air of panic that was sweeping both Will and her mother along and called out “I need Roger. Please I need my baby to be cared for. Please!”

Roger de Blythe

In the laboratory de Blythe could feel the mental pull coming from the birth room. He played with some dials, lowered the temperature of the fluids and maintained the sterile atmosphere essential to the health of the clones. Shutting everything down he sealed the area and willed himself to get to the help of the young woman who was about to give birth to the prototype of the new race. Taking a deep breath he assessed the security settings in the birthing area, found the correct opening and atomised into the ethers.

Ashley Magnus

Ashley knew that both her baby and herself would die if this all went wrong and she saw the concern on her mother’s face as the monitors showed the foetal heartbeat racing while her’s was slowing. Suddenly there was a disturbance in the ethers and she saw de Blythe materialise in the room.

Roger de Blythe

Noticing the immediate defensive gestures of the others in the room de Blythe immediately reacted “We’ll play games later” he said with sarcasm “right now I’ve got two lives to save.” Looking at Ashley he countermanded “DON’T PUSH!” He placed his hands on Ashley’s neck and pressed hard increasing her heart rate. At the same time he pushed on her stomach lowering the foetal heart rate. Pushing Will and Helen out of the way he shouted “MOVE!”
With a gentle almost singing voice de Blythe tried to calm the patient with soothing words “Take it slowly, gentle, calmly, slowly”. As he did there were gasps in the room as a grey throbbing fluid jelly like form escaped from Ashley’s womb onto the floor. Holding Helen back de Blythe allowed the emission to completely fall to the floor and then watched as it took the form of a naked woman about eighteen years old. Grabbing a blanket he hung it on the back of the youngster and turned to Helen. “Don’t worry. She might look like Melaven but I’m sure I’ve cleansed her from her evil tendencies.” Moving to Ashley he bit into his wrist and held the blood to her mouth. “Drink” he said as he soothed her forehead with the other hand “and rest.”

Looking round the room he addressed everyone “Now, will you allow me to work with you? I need you, and you need me.”

Looking at Helen he said “And in a day or so I’ll have a little gift for you.”

Helen looked on horrified at the scene before her. She leaped forward in defence of the ...baby?clone? thing? as deBlythe pressed his wound to it's mouth and two pairs of strong hands held her back. Tesla moved between Magnus and the other vampire, gently shoving her into the embrace of Will who continued to pull her back from the scene. Meanwhile Tesla bore his fangs and nails and stared down at the gooey pair before him. "I don't know why that's not a baby or even a child but I know she's genetically half mine. Move away from her now or suffer the consequences, deBlythe." he warned in his treble bass vampiric tones.

The Big Guy noticed the tension and moved between de Blythe and Tesla. "I don't think there's any need for that" he said seriously "He saved both your child's life and her mother. Give him the chance he is asking for." Seeing his words were having little effect he added "There was no need for him to put himself at risk if he meant harm was there?"

Before receiving a reply the big guy added "Besides, if he harms either of them I'll rip him limb from limb."

Lyda and Kate

The scent of blood touched her nose. Not good gotta guide Isis away from the medical area.

Henry.. temporary reroute please.

Glancing to Kate and the others. Has she ever pushed herself through one of the em fields to get to something she was being blocked from intentionally?

Kate shrugged First time I have ever been around her was this visit

Lyda nodded.

Adam Worth

Well now... smell that Isis... De Blythe is bringing that Melevan back and using your little cub to do it... I know you call young Ashley little cub... and Helen is letting him use Ashley to bring that psychopath back... We should go watch the festivities... Lose your handlers and lets go...

He was squirming enough to be able to talk without as much pain and suffering as he stared down smirking at her trying to agitate the darker more ruthless murderous half. The destruction she was capable of all he had to do was get the dark half under his manipulation

Isis

Snarling at the scent of blood seeming to creep through every fiber of the Sanctuary. Worth was talking again she simply hissed at him tightening her grip but deep down his words were filtering and driving that wedge further between her sanity and the darkness.

Helen wasn't sure what to think but pulled away from Will's grasp in time to join the triad of 'caregivers' to this new life. Will, meanwhile, began tending to Ashley's wounds as she lie barely conscious on the medical table.

The Melaven looking woman on the floor began to scream as if in pain and Helen grabbed her hand, looking at de Blythe with recrimination. "Are you hurting her?"

Nikola piped up now, "It shouldn't hurt. Our bites only hurt upon the first piercing of flesh, then the venom in the teeth works as a natural pain killer and sedative, remember, Helen?"

She blushed, not able to do more than nod as she recalled the early days after injecting the source blood when Tesla was out of control and having a hard time controlling his vampire urges. He'd bitten her once, or...tried, anyway, John and Nigel had to tear him off of her or he would have drained her in his blood-thirsty madness. He didn't add the effect the venom had upon the libido as well...Her body had been so much disappointed by the let-down of not being drained by a vampire that the very same evening she'd ended up nearly raping John.

She'd been avoiding a second time for months after her first, feeling the giving of her virginity before marriage, even to her fiance, was perhaps something she should have thought through more before acquiescing to and yet after the venom hat hit her system she was insatiable for several days afterward. Only, the effect had not been utilized to become a sex-addicted slave to a vampire master, his blood-drain never having commenced, the chemical effect had only driven her further into the arms of her current lover.

Tesla hadn't known any of this would have happened. No one knew much about vampires or the effects of their blood and venom back in those days but after this momentary lapse in Nikola's control the members of The Five had learned something. Tesla took it badly. He felt horrible about nearly either enslaving or killing the love of his life and best friend in Helen. He vowed from that point on to find other sources of nutrition, however bland, to keep his blood-thirst at bay and his fangs out of harm's reach of any of his friends.

He had known of Helen's lustful episodes after his incapacitation with some amount of jealousy and it was actually a turning point in their relationship that he could even mention it now to her with a near smirk.

Magnus simply shook her head, "Yes, that's right...Then, why is she in pain?"

Roger de Blythe

Hearing Tesla’s threat and reading Helen’s mind caused confusion in de Blythe’s psych and he had to act fast before they did something that could kill both Ashley and her child along with the Clone. “YOU’VE MISUNDERSTOOD!” He shouted claiming their attention. Then he calmly looked at Tesla “The clone isn’t your child, even I didn’t expect that. I’ll explain later but right now I need your help.” He looked at Magnus “Doctor, let me tend to Ashley.”

He moved forward to take control of the unconscious mother and gently put his forehead against her’s in a form of mind link. As he did he felt the body tense as another water sac broke. “Here’s your daughter Nikola” he said as he looked at Helen “And here’s your grandchild.”

All three worked together as Big Guy wrapped warm blankets round the Melaven clone. Gradually Ashley regained consciousness as de Blythe said “Now is the time to gently push.” As she did Helen worked at the end of the bed as first the head, then the body of a beautiful baby girl emerged and Helen did the necessary nursing. Looking at Tesla de Blythe said “This one is your daughter, Congratulations.”

After the birth and the placenta was safely discharged de Blythe gave Ashley some more of his blood before calling the nurse and instructed her on after care. Then turning to Big Guy he said “You have something in common with the young lady you just helped. You are both the only ones of your kind.” He escorted the clone out of the lab, gave her a thorough medical a, bath and a change of clothes before taking her to Helen who was in her lounge with Tesla and the baby. “I want you to welcome this clone, she may look like Melaven but that is the only similarity she has with her. She is the product of the Cabal, the source blood and the genetic adaptation I have dreamed of for centuries. She is truly immortal but also truly good. Every trace, every link with Melaven’s personality is gone. She is the first of the new race, a hybrid of everything that is good.” Turning to Tesla he said “And she will build a perfect world in which you can raise your daughter.”

It was obvious that Roger de Blythe genuinely believed he could make the world perfect. Place where children would grow without fear of disease, hunger, war or abuse. His ambition was noble and pure but his obsession with perfection had driven him mad.

The tiny, mewling infant was handed off to Nikola and he gasped when he looked down to see such sentient, enormous blue pools staring back up at him. Her crying stopped the moment he held her closer, sliding her into a cradled position on his right arm, against his chest. Her chubby fist moved in circles around her face, her mouth likely seeking a finger to suck on. He dried her off and watched the slimy, wet curls turn to platinum as they dried upon her head. She was like a living cherub, and he realized with a grin of amazed satisfaction, she was his.

He turned to leave the room, his prize safely held in his possession when a hand gripped his arm.

"Going somewhere, Nikola?"

He turned and tried to soften his disappointment at the intrusion by recalling Helen was indeed a blood relative of his baby and had a right to also want to hold her sometimes as well. "Helen, I was going to take Nikole out of this busy, cold room to someplace more cozy. Would you join us in your study?"

Helen Magnus could tell there was an urgency in Tesla to stake his claim to his only living relative and make his influence known as soon as possible but she also knew he wouldn't dare cross her. "Let me hold my grandchild." she said softly, her voice and body language brokered no argument as she reached and scooped the baby out of his arms, nuzzling her soft head and cooing something unintelligible to her as she set her upon the weighing scales and wrote the results down. ''I'll do a quick apgar scale test and we can then enjoy visiting with her in my study. This should be done now.'' She explained. ''Eight pounds, two ounces...Twenty-one inches in length...She's perfect.''

She checked on Ashley again and it was obvious Ashley's ordeal had left her too exhausted to remain awake to see the baby for right now. She left Will with the orders to try to get a breast pump on Ashley as soon as possible, "The baby will need her antibodies in these first hours." she explained. "I'll be visiting with the baby in my study if I'm needed."

She added over her shoulder to Tesla, "And, Nikola, insisting she be named Nikole won't make it so. Ashley has a say too, you know."

"Why would she argue with naming her after her genius father?" he teased.

They were enjoying sitting in the study taking turns with the near sleeping newborn, their newest family member, and Nikola couldn't help the lamentation he whispered, "Oh Helen, she should have been ours. "

Helen shook her head and murmured, "Is that something you envisioned if we'd ever gotten together? Babies?"

He nodded and grinned as the tiny hand closed around his finger, holding on tightly, "It was indeed a natural extension of my usual fantasies about you and me...But, I know this wasn't something either of us would've expected. I was never meant to have had a child with your daughter. It should have been with you. But, you've got that houseboy..."

''William is more to me than just a co-worker, Nikola. I wish you'd respect that.''

''I know. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry for how everything turned out...But, I'm so glad she's here nonetheless.''

Helen sighed, "Me too. She's so remarkable."

They were interrupted by de Blythe at that moment. Tesla was just thankful he'd been wise enough to bring baby's first bottle of Ashley's milk to them. He could care less about the clone at this moment. All he wanted was what would be best for his daughter. "Perfect world, I hope at least this world won't get any worse. Give me the bottle." He said, taking the still warm flask which Helen promptly took from him when it was obvious the newborn wouldn't open her mouth for the nipple as easily as he'd thought she would.

"Nikola, let me try. " Helen reached down and rubbed the baby's cheek gently with the tip of her finger and her little head turned instinctively, mouth opening like a hungry baby bird, the bottle nipple then shoved carefully into the opening created by the scientific-maternal action.

He shrugged, at least glad he could still hold his child in his lap as Helen took over the holding of the bottle without his permission. It seemed there would always be hands reaching for this little one. He hoped he'd still be a big enough influence to let his genius rub off on her some.

Helen watched her granddaughter drink for a moment before looking up and regarding the clone who still looked remarkably like Melaven, so much it was hard to feel neutral but she knew she should try. "Please, take a seat. Is there anything you need?"

The girl shook her head, "No, thank you. I'm just happy to be here." she said in a polite, melodic voice.

Helen and Nikola shared a look as if to ask each other, 'Is she for real?' but said nothing. Tesla's attention was focused on his baby and he soon ended up commandeering both baby and bottle from Helen.

She turned to the woman across from them and regarded her. "Do you have any questions? I'm not quite sure what I can do for you but I'd happily try. Please understand, of course, you resemble someone who caused this household a great deal of trouble not too long ago so it may take people time to get used to you and to trust you. It's nothing you should take too personally. Remind us if we get too rude."

Isis

Finally able to stop finding her path blocked she was on the roof her prey still firmly sealed in her grasp as she stared at Worth. Loosening her grip some to make his ability to talk a little more clear she snarled.

Spill it... ALl of it... you are how he gained access... How... Why... Complete honesty and maybe you don't fall from up here to granite below.

Her eyes narrowed as she watched him.

Lyda

Henry can you record everything he says please.

She watched her mother closely knowing that for now she was probably the only one up here that could stop her without shooting her. SHe knew the baby was born and that things in the med wing were somewhat happy for now so no point in involving them though Magnus might wish to know what was said later.

Adam Worth

of course Isis... Know better than to lie to you... you realize he wants them to keep you out of the way... All of them are under his control... Why do you think you can't get to Helen... and Ashley...

He watched as she snarled more hearing that.

Leave these weak fools to their demise at his and Melevan's hands... you get you and I out of here and young Lyda you come too and I will help you both avenge them or maybe... get you back together with your precious James... Think about it. Helen let herself be manipulated. She really had no choice he has been manipulating her life for centuries. You and John and the others have been his problem... well except that arrogant Tesla He is just a puppet who thinks he is a real boy... They ignore your distrust and get mad at you for not trusting him... wonder why... He holds their minds... I can help you protect weak one though from them and from him... just get us out of here Warrior.

Kate and Declan

Hate to ruin such a pleasant happy occasion but Worth is here so Will... John... Magnus We could use some backup with Isis and Worth

Kate radioed Sanctuary staff on private channel

Declan securely contacted Tesla.

Old man you and Helen need to hear what Worth has to say. You I highly doubt will dismiss it as insane or manipulative ranting. We have to keep Helen hearing it with an open mind too...

Henry dome shield so she can't throw him over the top nor jump to any other roofs.

Henry radioed that he already had it in place and was recording everything that Worth said.

"Bloody hell!" exclaimed Helen.

"Never a dull moment." said Tesla as he gently packed his tiny bundle of life into a front loading baby carrier with help from Helen and they followed Declan. He wasn't about to let his child out of his sight. She was securely sleeping against his chest.

"Don't let Worth anywhere near her, Nikola." Helen warned.

His expression told her everything she needed to know and she knew that at least for the moment her granddaughter was in the safest hands possible with her over-protective vampire father. As they made their way to where Delcan led, she helped Tesla ensure baby was wrapped well in her little receiving blanket and put a tiny knitted cap which had belonged to Ashley when she was born upon the baby's head to keep her from losing too much body heat. Nikola was whispering softly to the sleeping newborn in Serbian dialect and Helen couldn't help but feel warm feelings as she and he worked together for the baby's well-being.

She leveled the stunner unsure if she should shoot Worth or Isis. Opting to talk to Isis first.

Isis... I don't trust De Blythe or Worth... I have been right there siding with you the whole time. You need to not kill him so Magnus can hear what he has to say... You have to help me protect them from both of these people... please.

Hey Worth Keep telling us how De Blythe has control of the others and maybe we can both help ya.

Kate hoped he would fall for her bluff cause he sounded about as crazy yet sane as Isis.

Isis

She liked the little human Kate... She had guts to work within this world of abnormals and danger. Turning she moved towards the wall leading to the stairwell down and slammed Worth against that wall. Enough force to shake the stairwell some as she leaned her face closer to his.

Keep talking or will have all info ripped from brain... NOW

She was teetering on that edge both sides scrambling to push back to their side a battle clearly evident in her eyes as she stared through Worth.

No lies...

Adam Worth

Of course... Kate... they really don't respect you here either... just a human in a world of know it all monsters and ancient fools.

He briefly glanced to Kate before the stone wall rattled him to his core as he slammed against it. Feeling the narrow tank on his back to help with his radioactive escapes crunch he hissed a little in pain as a few arc rippled around him and Isis.

De Blythe has been after Source blood and Precious little Helen for a very long time... In fact it would not surprise me if he is the one that placed very specific people in her life like Tesla or perhaps even Johnny boy... I don't think he expected you to stick around or your kind to be so bloody violent against your being around outsiders leaving you in Helen's life. He has always done his manipulations when you were not around her or he did not think you were around her for the most part. THink about it... Centuries of manipulating all of them to get a hold of her now.

Helen and company were there in time to hear the last of Worth's words about de Blythe. She smirked and shook her head, "Isis, Sister, this is no news to me. I still am not sure how much that man can be trusted. He's more than a little mad, you know, perhaps even more mad than Adam at times but we all know we can't trust Adam Worth either." she countered, staring the small, meddling figure down. "Adam, you need to let go of the past and go away. I don't want to have to kill you...again."

Adam Worth

See Isis she admits that she is being manipulated and clearly doesn't care... neither does Nicky boy boy there who professes to love her.

He turned his head to look at Helen.

Ohh but he is giving me back my Imogean with that long lost little secret of yours. And he is bringing back someone for you too Helen... But then where will that leave you Nicky boy... or young Concubine Will... Ever wonder why what all he has done to your life has been when Isis here is not around... mybe he knows she would protect you from it all...

Looking back to Isis he smirked...

Leave them to their fate they don't care why should you become with my help what weak one never could around them...

Declan

He had remained in the stairwell having gotten a call he hoped was good news or at least some hope for helping Isis talking low to Helen and Tesla.

I have news on helping Isis... We have to get her mind solely down to that core protector deep down... And away from Worth the suit is damaged and leaking radiation... Your call Helen but we need to act soon.

Isis

Snarling he whipped her head around to watch Helen then back to Worth... None of them like this being the darkness was tempted to to end him or... A scent... not any of the others here... her head tilted as she turned eyes locking on the scent she stared at Nikola head tilted slightly... Isis was fighting hard to regain more control as she simply threw Worth to the side away from the new scent.

Her head tilted as she slowly moved closer to Helen and Nikola Cold eyes almost instantly soft her size slowly shifting back to more fully human muscles smoothing back down eyes never leaving where she could smell the baby as she only uttered two words...

Little cub...

Quickly and carefully moving past them then pushing Declan out of the way she was at a dead run to get to Ashley her mind trying to piece it all together and knowing little cub might need her.

Lyda

Quickly shooting the stunner at Worth. He may still prove useful for information and she was not willing to miss the chance to tell him she is the one that killed Abbyn.

Kate I think its best we get Radiation techs up here to deal with him can you do that while I follow mother?

Kate nodded and got on the inercom system to call for help.

Lyda then turned to Helen.

That vampire has to be stopped Aunt Helen... no matter how much good he thinks he is doing... Death has to exist. NIkola... I think that the baby can help Mother would you please get the baby back to her mother so Ashley and the little one can get Isis back to Isis for all of us.

With that she turned to follow her mother to make sure it was Isis and not what they had come to call the darkness. She then radioed Henry.

Henry Mother needs you as well... meet her there near Ashley.

Ashley Magnus

Ashley felt the weakness drift over her in waves and added to the confusion caused by giving birth to her baby and her body being a formation centre for a clone of Melaven she felt lost and alone. Focusing her eyes she saw the form of de Blythe drawing close to her and she began to cry “Where’s my baby? I haven’t seen her, they … they took her from me.”

Roger de Blythe

“It’s ok” de Blythe answered “your mother and the baby’s father are taking care of her but she will be brought to you when you are ready.” He took hold of Ashley’s arm and took her pulse while he placed a thermometer in her mouth. After checking the patient’s pulse and temperature he continued “You know your baby is in safe hands. I’m surprised at how well Nicky Boy has taken to fatherhood. He really loves her and I know he would die rather than let harm come to her.” He replaced the thermometer in the holder and took Ashley’s blood pressure. After finding all the observations normal he said “Well you are making excellent progress. I’ll go and find Tesla and your mother and ask them to bring the little princess to you.”

As he turned to go the door opened and Isis entered. Knowing their relationship had always been bad de Blythe tried to take the heat out of the situation. “I’m glad you’re here” he said genuinely “Could you please keep this young lady company while I ask Helen and Nikola to bring the baby to see her?”

Not waiting for a response de Blythe left the room and made his way to where Helen, Nikola and the others were. “Helen” he said gently “Your daughter is recovering well and would like to see her baby.” As he waited for a response he said to Tesla “I’m delighted for you. I know we haven’t always seen eye to eye but when it comes to children I go weak at the knees. I lost a child many centuries ago and I vowed that no matter what happened in my life I would not want another parent to go through what I suffered.” Looking round he said “On that subject, while you’re letting Ashley see her treasure I need to find Worth. It’s time he was reunited with his daughter.”

Melaven Clone

The Melaven clone smiled kindly at de Blythe’s words and said softly “I have no idea what I am or who I am or what purpose I have. But if I can do anything to help any of you in this I’ll be happy to do so.” She took a deep breath and said “After all, I can’t die so I’m going to be here a very long time.”

Isis

Snarling seeing De Blythe she was still focused on Ashley. moving past him she closed the distance to the hospital bed looking to Ashley. Memory taking over as she looked to the hand that had sliced into Ashley not so long ago trying to help her. Hurting Ashley or any of them was not what she would ever do but in the moment they happened it was for saving her... clearly something about it had worked as she was there before her.

Little cub...

Her voice low and pained as she tore her eyes from her hand and back to Ashley.

Lyda

Glancing to De Blythe a very calculating look to her eyes.

Whatever business you have with the psychopath will have to wait till a Radiation specialty team is through with him. Provided between the radiation and the injuries no doubt sustained at my mothers hands do not kill him first.

She was in this moment more James than Isis as she watched him.

Why do you seek to change the natural order of life and death De Blythe?

She had other questions but for now they could wait perhaps she should ask Helen as well the main one. Why did this being only manipulate her when Isis was not around when he did not think Isis was around or when Isis was unable to protect her... what was he afraid of concerning Isis. Was there more to her mother than any of them knew?

Kate and Declan

CLEAR THE WAY Radiation hazard coming through!

Declan's voice boomed breaking up the roadblock clearing their path to get Worth into containment and check him out. Worth was out cold on the special gurney as they rushed along behind Declan.

Kate moved to stand with Helen and Lyda innocently enough but ready for trouble if it were to crop up.

Helen took the baby carefully from the sling Nikola had been transporting her protectively in. He didn't look like he really wanted to part with his daughter just yet but one fierce warning glance from Helen and he put up his hands, allowing her to take her granddaughter to visit with the young woman lying in the hospital bed waiting to hold her.

"Here she is, Ashley. Isn't she a darling?" Helen said softly upon handing the squirming, pink bundle to her daughter.

Nikola moved to stand on the other side of the bed. He couldn't help but smile when his child's face turned toward him and her little tongue darted out of her mouth. "She's an angel! She looks a lot like her...grandmother. Gosh, Helen, it's hard to think of you as a granny... I named her Nikole, just so you know. Nikole Jasna Adrijana Tesla. And, she looks like she may be hungry again after her very first nap outside the womb."

Helen watched Ashley's face while he made his announcement of names for the baby and could tell his ''decision'' wasn't going to stick at all as far as Ashley was concerned. She held back a chuckle at this knowing there'd be an argument and until then she had no idea what to call her granddaughter. Tesla was about to go hunting for another bottle of Ashley's milk in the lab's refrigeration unit when Helen took hold of him by the arm and shook her head, "Ashley is fully capable of taking care of it now that she's awake, Nikola."

He wasn't too happy with this idea. He grimaced, "I think Ashley's too tired. Aren't you? I can do it. I'll feed her and you sleep.'' he offered. Really, he was a little worried that once Ashley and the baby bonded he'd be out of the circle and made redundant in his little girl's world. He wanted very much for that baby to need him for something. Very much.

Isis

Watching the baby as Helen showed her to Ashley her head tilted to the side. Even more calm seemed to come over her as Isis was stronger now to push back the darkness from her mind. Sniffing at the air a little catching the infants scent and smiling. She looked towards Helen then back to Ashley protective but calm.

Kate

For the first time since this latest internal battle of Isis and Worth being around she lowered and appeared to power down the stunner setting it on the desk just outside the chamber but still within access IF she needed it. Glancing around she moved back out of everyone's way and leaned back against the wall. Declan walked over by her also a silent observer in all of this though could not help but smirk hearing Nikola's idea for a name for the baby.

Lyda

Her eyes never left her mother her mind carefully moving over every possibility including all Worth had said that might sway the darker side of her mother into fleeing. For a moment her mind was sorting over so many different possibilities she wondered how her father survived mentally being like this more times than not.

Roger de Blythe

Back in the sealed unit where the other two clones were de Blythe made some adjustments to the dials. Unaware of what was happening above he attempted to send a telepathic link to Worth. ‘I need your memory, your link to your daughter and I need it now.’ Nothing came back and he began to worry.

Determined to make this work and win Worth over he pressed ahead without him. On the astral plane he linked into some of the Akashic records that held part of the memory, the soul of Imogen. Drawing it into himself he raised the temperature in the skull area and activated the brain stem and memory cells.

Night turned into day and an exhausted de Blythe finally turned the cobalt switch that generated a spark of life into the clone. The creature stirred, coughed, and opened her eyes. Focusing she said slowly “Dad?” Then with a little fear “Daddy?”

“Just rest” de Blythe said reassuringly “You will see your Dad soon enough.” Managing to calm the young girl down he re sent his telepathy ‘Get here as soon as you can. I have a surprise for you.’

Sitting opposite the young lady he said softly “It won’t be long. Meanwhile I’ll get you some clothes.” He opened a cupboard where there were some dresses once worn by Magnus but now kept in store for sudden arrivals. He picked one out, laid it on a table and said “While you get dressed I’ll go and get a drink.” He smiled and left the room after locking the door. Back in his surroundings he opened the fridge and took a blood bag to rebuild his levels.

Adam Worth

Something was touching his mind but he was contained and fairly out of it he could see the pale creatures that had tended to him and become "friends" if you could call them that. It seemed to hear De Blythe as well as he nodded it vanished from hiding within the Sanctuary and appeared where the message came from. It tilted its head looking to De Blythe as its mind seemed to enfold with his when it spoke.

Human's have Aadam. Evil shifter damage suit... poisonous. HUmans have Aadam.

Ashley smiled as her baby was given to her and she felt protected as she noticed the almost telepathic empathy that swarmed from Isis towards the young life. Sensing the tension she spoke in a hoarse voice “This is wonderful, beautiful. But I sense tension, deep tension.” Allowing the little life to find her place in the warmth of her breast she said slowly “You know if it wasn’t for Roger neither of us would be here. I know you don’t trust him, I know you think he is mad, and he may be. But I know he saved not only my life but the life of my baby too. And I would like you to at least cut him some slack.”

Sitting up she looked at Tesla “Nikola … I don’t want you to feel out of it. Please” She smiled and looked at her mother “He is my baby’s father” she turned to Tesla “And if you want to be part of her life … to share her with me then I’ll be so happy.” Hugging the little princess she said to the child “Your Mummy and Daddy both love you little one. We always will.”

Isis

Looking to Ashley then back to the baby she nudged a hand gently against the babys hand the same way she had when Helen first showed Ashley to her. Isis was herself for now the darkness buried in the presence of this little one. There was no fight now between the two sides. She watched the two parents with the baby and for now there was not even any desire to shred Tesla for getting little cub pregnant in the first place.

Tilting her head she watched the baby studying it in her own way making sure everything was alright with the new life. She backed away for a bit but still close enough that the infants presence still made the darkness stay far from her. Smiling though it made her think of what she had missed with Lyda.

Kate and Declan

Declan watched her carefully for a moment before looking to Helen almost a hopeful smile that this new life would help Isis become stronger than the darkness till they could find a permanent cure. A realist by all accounts he had learned not to dismiss the less than Medically or logically sound possibilities working for the sanctuary.

Kate took the call and went to check on Worth who while still heavily sedated seemed to be babbling something about having to get going and thanking Helen and everyone for their hospitality and even more ramblings about De Blythe and whoever this Imogean is.

Record everything he says and restrain him with your reports this psycho is lucky to be alive.

Lyda

She studied her mothers reaction to the baby and an almost primal protective feeling tensed in her as well. This must be part of what it is to be Proto HEP. That animalistic basic guardian... protector and destroyer all in one. She smiled and moved to stand closer to her mother hoping to be of some help to her seeing the sad look begin to touch Isis eyes. Smiling as well when Henry walked in and over to Isis who seemed to slightly curl towards him and reaching for her daughters hand which Lyda happily took hold of her mothers hand. It was strange but seemed fitting in this moment to accept affection from her mother.
