Scream it out! Roe v. Wade edition

Conservative movements in some areasyes, but the courts have ruled very liberally on social issues for a long time.
They ruled very liberally here for over a generation. Also notice how every subsequent Conservative leadership campaign becomes more and more dominated by Christian fascists, and there's some very scary Canadians in that group. Mind you, Pierre Poilievre's probably going to win this round. He's ex-Reform, so I automatically don't trust him.

Conservatives truly do not know what they have done. The average american conservative honestly believes that they can do whatever they like and the weak liberal snowflakes will just cower and talk. They pride themselves on how fast they can turn it into a violent threat and get capitulation. It is very much like the High School Bully grew up and never changed. The Liberals are the victims that never changed.

But nobody understands the rage of victims when they finally get pushed too far. Billy-Bob, you better get to buying ammunition and cleaning your guns. Make sure you go to the range and practice, You. Will. Need. Them.

what the ever-loving fuck are you talking about. i’m one of those people with a conservative point of view that you (and so many other respondents in this thread) so readily disparage and negatively characterize with your assumptions. i know my views are counter to those of many others. but i don’t run rampant over them nor force my views on them like the high school bully. instead, i choose civil discourse, work to find areas of agreement and compromise, and seek common sense solutions that best represent my views. i certainly don’t threaten violence or war when others disagree. but, i’m also no pushover and if you come at this “Billy-Bob” with a weapon, you will find out that i’ve been at the range for years learning how to protect my family and myself when attacked by real violence. dude, please. tap the brakes on the vitriol and threats.

One I am not threatening anyone. But conservatives have managed to do the worst thing they can ever do. You have pissed off liberal women.
Two maybe you ARE reasonable but I have myself experienced threats and violence for my stance. I've had grown men talk about hunting me like WILD GAME because they disliked me being a snowflake in their state.

I am TIRED of keeping my mouth shut. I am tired of being pushed around and so are the rest of my people. I dont like fighting, or hurting people. I KNOW what a civil war in this country would be and it will be like the United States becomes the new Middle East. Both sides will be absolutely convinced the angels are on their sides. It will never end. If this happens the way I fear it will, there may be no way to stop it.

Also? YOU chose to threaten ME. I did not threaten anybody, you took it that way and then started talking about me coming for you with a weapon! You really want it that way, its your choice man.

no, sir. i did not say i was or would come after you or anyone else with my weapon. i said i would defend myself if someone came after me with a weapon as you suggested was ultimately going to occur because of my conservative point of view. have a nice night.

If you still identify with the party whose leader said there are good people on both sides when Nazis marched in Charlottesville, then do you think it’s realistic for those who are victims of white supremacist violence to think you’re reasonable? The problem is the lack of ‘conservatives’ standing up and saying enough is enough, this isn’t who we are. And since almost no one is doing that, it’s perfectly normal for the assumption to be that is who you are.
Hell, JD Vance criticized and then got his knees for the man who said Nazis are fine so he could win. See why people take issue?

i believe you are sincere in your comment and i understand the rationale behind the conclusions supporting the assumptions. i don’t understand nor appreciate that someone who doesn’t know me would make any serious assumption about me at all. just because i hold certain conservative points of view doesn’t mean i’m either a Trumper or Republican.

in my opinion making sweeping assumptions about others without knowing them feeds the flames of division. i like to take people at face value. i know we’re not going to agree on lots of things, but that doesn’t mean civil, class, race or ideological warfare is the ultimate outcome. i don’t think any of us should have to sacrifice our beliefs, nor expect absolute agreement with our positions in either the process of governing or just living happy productive lives. maybe one day we will be collectively smart enough to figure that out. until then, i approach life and leadership as i explained in my original post on this thread. others can think the worst of me if they wish. i can’t control, nor do i want to, what others think. i just hope they consider the possibility that they might not be correct.

From the Bible:

(I’m sure this will be attacked as being taken out of context, yada yada. But…if all life is sacred and life begins at conception, these lines from the holiest of books clearly contradicts these assertions.)

Conservatives truly do not know what they have done.
They know exactly what they're doing. They've been fighting for this for 50 years. They've been talking about taking away contraception for 20 years, that I know of. This is a systemic campaign to force women back in the kitchen.

The average american conservative honestly believes that they can do whatever they like and the weak liberal snowflakes will just cower and talk.
That is literally all we have done for the last 20+ years. We are a completely neutered, weak, miserable excuse of a political movement.

They pride themselves on how fast they can turn it into a violent threat and get capitulation. It is very much like the High School Bully grew up and never changed. The Liberals are the victims that never changed.

We won't do anything. All we want to do is march and sing folk songs. What we need to be doing is shouting down these goddamn fossilized Catholics that are always protesting at any clinic at any given time! We need to shout down Republicans in state legislatures when they call us pedophiles. We need to disrupt their rhythm!

Even from much less violent passages, the scriptures are clear that for most people life begins at birth. The breath of life, ruach, is sacred. The only time the Bible explicitly talks about abortion is in Numbers 5 when it gives instructions on how to cause a miscarriage.

Those same fossilized Catholics are usually the same people who so reliably looked the other way when it came to dealing with actual pedophiles. I believe it's what psychologists call "projection."

Roe v Wade? Who should I be cheering for so I can keep blindly knocking up skanks. Morning after pill aint cheap muh fuckers.

This was guaranteed to happen eventually, but Christianity is near the end of its run. It is temporarily gaining former atheists and progressives, but the next generation may move on to new religions with completely different values.

Of course you don't have to be a republican or a trumper. You don't have to sacrifice your beliefs - I never said anyone needed to. I also won't sacrifice my beliefs - I no longer desire to associate with people who, event passively, endorse a political ideology that has been co-opted by folks pursuing the distruction/erasure of many people including my own. It's easy to say, "live happy, productive lives" when it's not your own being shot where they pray, or unable to get their loved ones medical treatment, or being shot by police with no regard for their humanity. Like I said, maybe one day, "conservatives" will see the hypocrisy of their current belief structure, and that the long road of white supremacy in the US is why "hands off" policies don't really work for all Americans, but serves as a way to keep white (mostly men) in power. It's not personal - for many of us, it's actually survival.

No, what we need is a nationwide strike.

Considering the conspiracies around Jews controlling everything, you'd think OUR portion of the bible would matter. Judaism supports abortion access, but unshockingly, evangelicals think they know better.

If this ruling goes through and it looks like it will. It is little more than an economic attack on citizens stuck in repressive states. It wouldn't surprise me if access to effective contraception is restricted or outlawed down the line. The message the establishment is sending is clear. Individual freedom isn't wanted. This is economic coercion. Want to regulate your own fertility so you have a better long term economic shot? Forget it! This is old school keep em broke and pregnant economic policy.

thank you for the thoughtful and personal response. i’m sorry if i implied that getting to a point where everyone would be living happy and productive lives was easy. i think it’s a real challenge that requires work on many levels. you and i certainly have different views of how to achieve this goal and maybe even disagree on some of the specifics of what that success looks like. nonetheless, i am hopeful for more satisfying times for everyone. best regards ~ parker

It doesn't take work for me or a trans kid or a black woman when it's society putting our lives at risk. The challenge is how do you get the people who espouse "all lives matter" to actually believe all lives matter?
