I saw the Secretary movie a few dayz ago and uhm, OMG i so loved the part when she get the first spanking!!!!

Can anyone really doubt that Breaking the Waves is really a retelling of the Easter/Passion Story?. Cf. the scene where the female character (character names I don't recall, at the moment) is pushing her bicycle up the hill (Calvary) while being stoned and spat upon. Isn't this really the via Dolorossa?

At IMDb there is an active community of fans of this movie many of whom are Doms or subs. The consensus over there seems to be that while not being a film per se about BDSM it does depict the emotions that some people go through in coming to terms with who they are.
I love this move for the simple reason that I can relate to the Lee character big time. I have always had masochistic tendencies as well as submissive tendencies, and I stuggled with both until I came to understand what was going on with me. I think that the journey that she makes into discovering what it is she wants is very empowering for her, and quite frankly a woman who is able to stand up for what she wants even though what she wants is not what others think she should do is in no way, shape, or form to me a doormat.

Oddly enough my first dom "G" was very similar to the E Edward Gray character. While he was much more at peace with himself than Gray, he was somewhat of a loner and not very social.

The look at the end has been a matter of speculation over there as well. I have thought since the first time I saw that look as being defiant. Now that she's told her tale she telling the audience, "Fuck you. I'm going to do what I want, and I don't care what you think."
