I honestly stopped reading after you said "female rigger" .... But I'd say it's like anything else, you practice til you get comfortable, then you practice on a partner until they're comfortable, and then you practice together....
And when y'all are comfortable you keep communicating and practicing....
And with lots of communication and practices it could take 12 to 18 months...

I practiced harnesses on myself for a year prolly before I even shared with my partner that I wanted to do it with them....
And then after that we still practiced together on me.... Before we did it on him/her
You may also find courses for such things. Whether you would find anyone there who fits your wants regarding gender is another question, but it might be worth investigating at least. Some years ago, I wanted to do a rope course but didn't have a partner to accompany me. A friend agreed to do so, because she liked being tied up, but her partner nixed it because he didn't trust me, or maybe her, I don't know which. Anyway, my point is that there are other avenues than being in a relationship of some kind with someone who is into it, @vagrantx You may find that there would be other course attendees who are also flying solo, for example. (There would obviously be trust issues, amongst other things, but I've found that most people in the community are decent human beings. Just got to
