History (up to 1961 at least), science, fairy tales, classic stories, how to build things, stories from around the world, poetry, and music. A bit of everything, and I devoured this as a kid. It gave me a taste of what the world could be, outside of my tiny room, what words and music and science could open up. If anything created my desire to understand and learn about...every fucking thing in the world, it was this series.

I've never figured out a method to weed out the weirdos. Right now I've got my DMs turned off, but in the past I've just learned to never respond to anyone who obviously hasn't read my bio. Saves time.

I hate that empty feeling after a good show or book …. It’s the worst!!

What's worse for me is watching the later seasons, after it should have ended, and they are just limping along, and you can see it, but I still keep going. I think, "maybe it will end okay!" and it doesn't. Some shows can change direction and it is wonderful (The Good Place pulled that off in spades, as their core value, I think), but most...cannot.

I am looking at you right now, Castle. And the Anita Blake books. I stay in relationships longer than I should, and that includes media.
