As a kid, I would toast a piece of bread and spread peanut butter on it then sprinkle it with sugar. Can’t do that with jelly…at least I really wouldn’t

The key for me is finding the right balance of peanut butter and jelly. Too much of either compromises the sandwich.

And of course everyone is different on that.

Grape is right out. Got sick on grape flavor as a kid and can’t do it at all.

I do love grape too. But any dark fruit will do.
However, the caveat is: it has to be jam, not jelly. Jelly just doesn’t have the full flavor that comes out of jam.

Love them both...but jam or "preserves" seem to be better to me.

Peanut butter and jam doesn't sound right though because jam is also verb.

And Peanut Butter and preserves sounds like something my Granny might say.

That would make sense, but no. It’s crunchy peanut butter, slice of bologna and either whole or sliced olives. I remember the bumps in the bread whenever I made him one and thinking “this is fucking gross”

That is bizarre. I would have to be pretty desperate or intoxicated or both to try that.

Preserves are definitely superior to jelly or jam! My favorite is seedless boysenberry, but strawberry is a close second

I would recommend trying a PB, Nutella and banana sammich…preferably put it the toaster oven for a couple mins, and flipped for a couple more so it’s all melty and gooey
