Dream job for an unpicky nympho


Ugh…jelly! I had just gotten fired from my previous job after being sick (like could barely stand, rushing off my station to throw up frequently, sometimes barely making it to the nearest wastebasket hurling in front of customers, coworkers telling me I look like death levels of sick) from November ‘19 - February ’20 (before we knew C19 was in the states, but it was) and using up all my PTO and sick days and having my sick leave retroactively denied; and had JUST started training for a new job when C19 hit. The new place shut down *most* operations except online ordering for pickup, instituted a hiring/training freeze that included me with 2 whole days of training under my belt, while taking care of the employees who had been there at least a few months. They assured us several times that we still had jobs there and said keep calling in to see when we’ll be able to be put on the schedule. After 2 months of calling to check the schedule every week, my employee # didn’t work on the automated menu, so I called back to ask my supervisor about the schedule thinking it was an error in the system. They said I was “deactivated” because I hadn’t been to work in 2 months. No fucking shit, they weren’t putting me on the schedule! Shitty way to find out I did not still have a job there after all.

My friend had just gotten an offer for her dream job when I got laid off … they rescinded their job offer the next day.

Don’t feel too happy for me… I did have to pay back $2k in govt money I received cuz I got more than I was owed. Cuz the system was so janky with so many people applying and it wasn’t super clear with the rules they just approved everyone. I’m sure there’s still people who haven’t paid back what they got in error.

Welp, that place with the hiring freeze definitely wasn’t my dream job. They paid significantly less than my previous job, but I needed something until I could find a better job. Ended up with the job after that paying more than either, so it worked out…but yeah, absolutely still fuck them in the not-good way!
