Review: The (Original) Male Rose
The Male Rose, which horked itās name from the intensely popular (for good reason) clit sucker, is an interesting toy that I wanted to love. It is a vibrating, spinning cock polisher (this is the original version ā the next generation also moves up and down).
This is what it looks like:
(It has no internal lights and does not act as a flashlight. Yes, I was very disappointed as well.)
It consists of two parts. First is a dark plastic ABS handle, which doesnāt look remarkably well-built but has a nice, reassuring heft to it. It has two buttons, one of which is the main power button which also controls the vibration mode, and one that controls the spin, with a power meter for the spin (in case you couldnāt tell). The second half is a clear, soft sleeve, made to look something like a flower, but with stylized lips at the top. (It looks disturbingly like Audrey II. Try not to think about that part too much.) Inside are about a hundred plastic nubs, maybe a Ā¼ inch long, ringing the sleeve sides and bottom. The sleeve is TPE, which means you can use either water or silicon-based lube. The sleeve is quite soft and flexible, and will stretch well for a person with a larger cock (not me ā I tested it over several objects because I want to give a well-researched review). It has an insertable depth of just over three inches, and an opening of about two inches. For the record, I am averagely endowed, with average length and maybe a touch girthy. The sleeve fits snugly, but not tight, and is very comfortable.
It has two modes that can be used alone or in conjunction. The first is vibrating, and it has a very nice vibrator pill, and has ten different intensities and patterns. The other mode is spinning, wherein the sleeve rotates 360 degrees around your cock. It has five settings, with three setting the speed, one reversing the direction of the spin, and the final switching directions back and forth. Also, if the sleeve is stopped while spinning it will automatically reverse direction, which gives you manual control over it as well.
For use, you put in a lot (a lot) of lube, put your cock into the mouth, and then either spin, vibrate or both. The vibration is very powerful, with a good range of patterns. It works well with the sleeve. Then there is the main event ā the spinner. And hereās where it loses me.
I am pretty sure they repurposed the motors from machines to remove the bolts from battleships. At the lowest level, it has a very powerful speed and torque and it goes up from there. And the nubs in the sleeve are a bit firm for that. The combinations of vibration and spin are enjoyable to start, but even with an insane amount of lube, I found it almost painful after a short while. I used a water-based lubricant, so perhaps the silicon-based would work better for me. It was just too intense, even at low spinning speed. And the motor casing isnāt waterproof, so bathtub play, which may have improved that somewhat, is not an option.
Positives:
The vibrator is powerful. I kept it for that part alone.
It charges quickly. It has the usual, stupid proprietary connector going to a USB plug, but it charges quickly for about an hour of playtime.
The cup removes from the base, making it very easy to clean and dry without shorting the motor.
Relatively quiet. Not silent, but far quieter than many others.
Negatives:
Starting speed is very powerful, and can be painful, even with a large amount of lube
The power/vibrator button combination gets a bit annoying while in use.

Final thoughts:
I would have liked to try a sleeve with smaller, or minimal nubs, even just ridged. But the firmness of the projections, with the speed of the motor, was too intense for me. However, the vibrator is why I keep it. And if you have a kink about getting head from a carnivorous plant, I may have exactly the toy for you.
