Shadow over Gerelden OOC

Thanks Jedi, I shall edit my post.

Sorry for that assumption, I'll admit now I sort of guess sometimes what has been made apparent and what has not. XD

It happens.

Hopefully we can get somewhere with this story. I was beginning to think we would never get past the life story-telling.

What better way to explain than with a nice quiet dangerous walk underground.

Post shall be up soon.

Funny.

How old IS Jager, anyway? You said that he was alive during the Dragon Raid, so am I to assume that he has been alive for at least five hundred years? As far as I knew, Elves didn't quite do much at that age. Had he been two hundred years old, I would understand completely. But five hundred years, possibly more? Interesting.

Do Mori Elves use anti-aging treatments?

Do they exist at this point in time?

So many questions...

The Mori work for a living, so until he starts to look 80, Jager will still be working. Oh, and FYI, he looks about 30-35 years old.

Elves in general have a very long life span, and thus age slowly. and the Mori are no exception. So to look 30-35, Jager has been around quite awhile. I'd venture a guess that Jager is about 600 years old.

Grimlock is the baby of the group as he is HUMAN (I always laugh at that seeing that my surname is Human) I'm not sure about the Mori Elves, but it said that Elves are immortal. So maybe we can work that into the story? Or would we rather go for elves who dies in their late 3000's?

Either way works for me, though elves are generally immortal unless killed. I realized fairly late that I was slightly in the wrong.

My apologies, Jedi.

Wow, my drow character in another thread is a baby then. 50 years old.

Do elves usually age to adulthood quicker, then slow down...or is it all just a really slow process.

Whose abilities would those be? You really do have an odd way of writing when it comes to questions.

Sorry about the way I have been writing. I think I may have read a little too much poetry and Shakespeare lately. So now my language is all weird.

I was asking Zel, although you guys could have overheard it.

She wants to know if he'll survive sex with her, lol. But didn't use those exact words, lol.

Perfectly alright. I was a little confused on that myself, but it's all cleared up.

At any rate, time for a vote.

Trouble now, or later, and what scale of trouble? I mentioned goblins earlier, but nothing says that there couldn't be something else down there.

I figure we should get the trouble in now, but on a smaller scale. Just a few small fights here and there to get a feel for each character's combat style.

And then afterwards we exit the tunnels and enter the next time to stay the night, where who knows what will happen.

Sure, throw a couple of goblins in as a small scouting party. They sure as hell won't be expecting anybody walking around down there so there might be only a couple of them and lightly armed. And definitely no magic slingers.

Of course, if they see the torches lighting up like Yurioni has them, they're gonna be very cautious, and just might decide to bug out when they see the group unless they feel that they would have an overwhelming advantage. However, of the group, Zelthuros and Grimlock are gonna be by far the most intimidating, with Zelthuros having his bow ready and Shadow next to him and Grimlock being...well, Grimlock. Those two are obviously the fighters of the group, where the two ladies are (pardon the sexism) women. Jager is just a mystery.

In these times, I can accept that from goblins. Can't say they are the most well travelled and knowledgeable creatures anyway.

XD

If a fight does occur, you should have Yurioni take the first arrow, or bolt, or whatever attack they make. So I can explain the healing, and why she can't heal until after the fight.

You know, I consider Zelthuros a bit of a mystery, as well. I never said he was a fighter. His fighting style is considered more of a finesse style, not force. Grouping him with Grimlock is like...grouping a wolf with a bear. You know what I'm saying?

Anyways, I'm waiting for everyone to post again before I bring us to the ambush spot. I'll have Yurioni shot in the shoulder with a crossbow bolt and Zelthuros tackled by a pair of goblins. Anyone have a particular way they want hit at the start? I'm thinking around ten goblins for the fight.

I was thinking from the perspective of the goblins. They see Zelthuros with a bow out and ready, they see him as a fighter. Grimlock is self-explanatory, especially with all that armor showing.

Jager has no weapons showing because of his cloak, thus he seems to be a mystery. And sadly, he left his bow back at one of his safe houses in Detrol, so all he has are the two short swords attached to his back under the cloak.

And yes, I know what you're saying.

And go ahead and don't wait for me. I want to incorporate the ambush point and the start of the attack into my next post. Quick question: how's the lighting in the tunnel? Bright and well lit or lots of shadows?

Assuming that the torches have been lit, they would have been well lit with little shadow. It was a dwarven mining tunnel originally.

Well, according to Dormant, Yurioni has been lighting the torches ahead of the group as they move along.

With that in mind, will the torches go out once Yurioni takes the hit, or at least a few of the torches? Jager would like to have some shadows to disappear into once the fight starts.

Actually, having the torches dim as the bolt hits due to her concentration getting reduced would be a good effect. Maybe they remain half lit, enough to see but enough to create flickers of shadow for you.

Sounds like a plan. The shadows will help Jager use his preferred method of fighting. And no, it's not to run and hide.
