Shadow over Gerelden OOC

Just had to go find this:

Indeed.

I can see both awesomeness and fault in that legitimate strategy.

So who was posting next?

So you think Grimlock just swings and kills? Is that it? Well yeah that is basically it, but that is beside the point :p

Will be replying soon

That's why you're here, DK.

And I like the torch idea. Allows Jager to go and...do whatever he does. (Run and Hide.) Backstab things...right.

Anyway...

I'll post the initial fight after DK posts.

Sorry for taking so long, I've been distracted recently. Just a couple of things I would like to know before I proceed with my post.

First, is it still raining where the group now is? Second, where is the sun/moon in the sky at this point? Third, a more detailed description of the watchtower ruins, please, such as its height and whether or not Jager can climb up to a higher level inside so as to get a good look around.

And also, how far would you estimate the group is from Detrol and Kurtwall?

No, it isn't raining. I would assume that the sun is low in the sky at the moment, as it was late day during the tavern incident.

I hadn't detailed the ruins the much because I hadn't planned on us staying there very long, but as you wish. Since they are ruins, they are broken down and not much of a watchtower anymore. The walls have been crumbled and destroyed from age and misuse.

Detrol: A few miles.
Kurtwall: Less than a mile. The fields the group is in currently would be on the outskirts of town.

I was just going over the posts from the first page of the IC, so as to get some info to help me write my next post, and apparently I had indicated that when Jager walked into the tavern, it was already an hour or two after sunset.

So, shall we say it is past midnight or around sunrise, for the sake of continuity?

Again, apologies for the delay, but RL is quite distracting. I'm about half done with my post at the moment, and given a prompt response and a little free time without distractions, I should have it up tomorrow night.

Hmm. Just reread your post and you would be correct. I guess I missed that when I read it the first time. I believe we could say it is around midnight, yes. I'd rather not make it any later than that because I had intended on the group staying at the tavern and then I can't quite tell you what happens the next day.

Hm...and I was just about to suggest in my IC post that we spend the night out in the woods because the gates of Kurtwall would have closed after sundown and would not open again until morning. Either that or we scale the wall.

My rationale is this: Kurtwall isn't quite as big or well guarded as Detrol, so they have to close the gates at night to keep the things that go bump in the night out.

I was also going to suggest that we split up and enter Kurtwall separately, that way we draw less attention than arriving together, and then meet up again somewhere inside.

I like the entering in two groups idea.

But Angel is not going to want to stay in the wilderness. Not on this night.

Yeah, my turn to post, I know. Sadly, I sit down to write out a post for this story with an idea or two bouncing around my head, and then I'm left staring at a blank page for an hour because the ideas had decided to make themselves scarce. Then there's real life that's become a bit distracting.

So, with this in mind, Angel and DK, do you think you two could adjust your posts so that Jager appears to have vanished on you? I would have had Jager do it myself, except for the fact that Jager is being interacted with at the moment.

Honestly, Jager is very much out of his comfort zone right now, traveling with a group of strangers for no apparent reason, and it just so happens that nearly every one of those strangers is a magic user as well, so Jager would take the first opportunity he could to simply vanish. And it just so happens that the group splitting up like this, and Angel and Grimlock too busy trying not to grope eachother to notice, presents a perfect opportunity for Jager to disappear.

And no, this is not me quitting. This is me trying to buy myself some space so that if I continue getting brain farts like I have, I won't hold up the group.

I figure that if there really is some external force at work that brought this very different people together, then Jager is going to be compelled to follow the group as a sort of shadow, which is something that Jager is very good at doing.

I don't think Angel's post needs edited. Could have disappeared when she looked back over to Grimlock.

Not sure if I like the idea of you just stalking the group the whole time, but if you think that's the best course of action for your character, who am I to say no?

I'm still game for this story if the rest of you are.

Just be quick with the bedroom antics, okay Dormant and Leo? ;)

You've been quiet for a while. Naturally I'm still game. I've put a lot of thought into this.

And, well, *cough* I'm sure we can work something out....you know how those fire elementals are.
