The pale elf nods "yes, your companion as well. i understand she has quite a debt to pay off. this will help." she hefts two little pouches filled with coin and tosses them over "gather what equipment you need and explore the offshoot. When will you go? I'm sending a mapper with you. well, behind you."

Kasia gestures at the checkpoint "we can't go to Ludmilla's. we cant leave the heights. There's a way down to the crypt from here. Something to do while the city is on lockdown. Ludmilla can't exactly ask you to come to work when the road is closed."

Marius puts his hands in the pockets of his great coat, looking Clancy over a moment "I will be at the Simic residence, as I cannot cross the basin to my own abode. I will carry any message you might have. If there are supplies such as rope or lanterns or anything, Simic should be able to lend them to me. This is my enterprise as much as hers."

Kasia looks over at Clancy "honestly I don't think I want to do this" she looks over at the elves and tosses the gold back. "I'm just..I appreciate the opportunity but I think i need a few days off"

The woman nods "well you can get in touch with me if you change your mind"

Kath and Petra find the Magistrate

Using "Sending", Kath communicates telepathically with Petra, as they stand silently in front of the door, eavesdropping

"It seems one of them is ACTUALLY intent on starting a war with the Volk! What do we do?"

(OOC Petra may speak back telepathically, in 25words or less)

Kasia looks at clancy "it was written all over your face you didn't want to do this. the road'sclosed Clancy, we have to go back to Simic's." She laughs "Look you didn't wanna work for them and Marius scares the hell out of me so.. I'm not complaining. I don't know why you keep trying to walk down the hill though. It's simic's or camping at this point. road camping. with no food and no fire."

Petra considers a moment and thinks back to Kath "can you sneak past the room or should i go it alone? I think we see if we can get into where the magistrate is and rescue him if at all possible, but quietly. We don't want this to be us against armored men. that's a sure loser. Unless you want to maybe go chase down some of Kazimir's dragoons?"

Kasia shrugs "I don' like that Marius at all but it was something to do till the road cleared. Seriously its fine. You didn't want to do it, so we didn't do it. We can play cards and mess around for a few days." she smiles and starts heading back up to the house "seriously its not a big deal"

Kath gets an idea

Petra was right. A fight against an entire host of armored soldiers would be a suicide mission. She thinks...
"Okay, stealth mode..."
She follows Petra into the room, and casts Meld into Stone to literally disappear into the wall, waiting while Petra does her thing. One last use of "Sending", saying "Petra, if you need me to spring out of the wall, let me know with a sound. I'm best hidden right here."

Kasia laughs at the story, imagining a young larcenous Clancy "i learned to pick pockets from an old guy that insisted I "get off my lazy arse and learn a trade" and i think i was... 7 maybe? you know. of prime job getting age." she rolls her eyes and curls in aagainst him "guess though you could have used those skills at a young age though. Might have been a thief and not a mage"

Kath blends into the wall and watches as Petra sneaks down the hall. The argument in the room next to the magistrate explodes into actual violence, with men throwing punches though not drawing blades. Petra sneaks into the other room, cutting the magistrate free. they start down the hall, creeping towards the main door and Kath. As the violence spills into the hall, petra slashes a man with a knife and pulls the magistrate out into the street "fucking run! run gods be damned run!"

"they're looking for a shrine to sartorius, the lost HOmine's god of fashion, so they can form a fashion cult. With their cool coats like they're the coolest kids on the wharf"

Kath and Petra escape with the Magistrate!

On Petra's signal, Kath stepped back out of the wall, and bolted with them down the hallway! She used her "Thaumaturgy" cantrip to slam doors shut behind them as they ran.
She also cast Bull's strength on the Magistrate, bolstering his strength.
"Come on, Lord Konrad! We're almost out of here!"

Kasia shrugs "everything with pockets is for City Elves. if you want pockets you should go with Marius." she makes a face "real men wear cloaks and carry purses." she shrugs "but i am fond of you anyway" she grins and nudges him with a hip "even if you are ahead of your time"

While portly, the magistrate was a former dragoon and found some of that reserve to sprint out to the street, where they flagged down passing dragoons. The ddragoons immediately formed a square around them, and one of them gave Konrad his horse. They escorted them swiftly back across the river to the west side, and up into the heights where they deposited them at the magistrate's house.

There, Felicia and her friend were entangled on a divan, and looked very much relieved at the return of the magistrate "oh you poor thing, let us take care of you" they ushered the man into the other room over his protests, and shut the heavy doors.

Petra sat, exhausted, on the divan "im sure the city is still under lockdown... so might as well find a place to sleep."

Kath completes her first quest!

Exhausted after a hard day of bartending, fucking and saving the Country from a war, as well as using a Lot of her divine powers, Kath slumps down on the couch next to Petra, sweaty and panting. She high fives the deadly beauty, watching Lord Konrad, safe and sound, being cajoled by Felicia and her friend.
"Well...that was an interesting evening! Wow, look at him...straight back into Felicia's cunt! Not even a thanks...is this what it's like to be you? Just kidding...but seriously, let's find a decent place to crash. My room is absolutely wrecked right now. Even I wouldn't sleep in it....wait, I might have just the place!"

OOC: Kath has the Entertainer Background, meaning that as long as she "performs", she will always have a free place to crash in most taverns, inns, brothels, hotels...

Petra laughs at the incredibly cheerful Kath "everything's locked down. I meant here. find a place to sleep here" she smiles and wraps an arm around Kath a moment "there's some servants quarters or we can camp out on the floor here. I'm too tired to walk anywhere anyway, and i shouldnt leave the house. You also look exhausted, darling"

Kath gently rests her head on Petra's shoulder, and snuggles up next to her. She smells of leather, sweat, fresh blood, justice and freedom.
"I'll sleep anywhere tonight, as long as its next to you...we make a good team, you and I..."
She grabs Petra's arm back, affectionately

Petra laughs "charmer. I smell like sweat and blood and i feel like death. " she shifts away for a moment, spreading out her cloak over some pillows stolen from nearby furniture. she strips off her leathers, and in the process reveals all manner of hidden weapons, and an athletic, well muscled frame. She rolls onto her side and pats the makeshift bed "i think you've probably earned more than a cuddle, but i died today almost and well. that's what you're getting for now"

Kasia pops back in after a bit, dressed "the road is clear, if you want to check on your cat and Ludmilla" she hands him a bowl of Popara (day old bread mashed with milk and some oil, like oatmeal-ish porridge) laced with some raisins to spruce it up "I made them put in the raisins. stingy bastards" she takes her own bowl and sits on the bed, eating and looking over at Clancy "after that i thought we could pawn what we got from the crypt."

Kasia hmmms "i think most 'magic shops' are hedge wizard con artists who sell basic glamors. Real expensive shit like that... seems like you'd have to be invite only. now... that being said" she grins "i might know a guy who knows a guy. He's at least a good lead. Wanna spend the day chasing that down?"

Kasia snorts "for an ugly ass coat like that, you're gonna need to go to elftown. Also, you might need it special if its gonna be enchanted. might need to look into that. the tailors probably know. All those ponces seem to be dripping with magic."

The barricades were still up, but the guards were merely asking questions and largely ascertaining if anyone was a Volk or Ludowy. the basin was quieter than usual, with armed men at every corner, but life was returning to the city in drips and drabs. salvage crews were fishing blasted pieces of boat out of the harbor, and pyres had been lit to burn the dead found floating in the waters, but otherwise the day was fine and the sun was shining.

As Kasia made her way up the Eastern Slope, to elftown, she paused at a large flat point in the rise. "The city elves all build their houses to look down on the embassy from the Tyr" she pointed at 10 acres of ground in the basin, where the land was allowed to grow wild and intricate crystal buildings could be seen glimmering through gaps in the foliage.

Kath smiles, and slowly falls asleep, cuddling with Petra. She sleeps with the satisfaction of knowing she helped rescue the Magistrate, and possibly prevent a War…for now.
Her eyes close, and she takes a trip to dream land, where a sea of naked people frolicking awaits her. She definitely sleeps like a baby that night (and regains her spells and powers)

The next day is largely less glamorous for Kath. interrogations, though friendly, are interrogations and this seems to be a matter of serious state concern. Dragoon Lieutenants replaced by Captains replaced by Colonels, replaced by some count from the hinterlands. descriptions of anyone she saw, leads to queries about why she was at the magistrates. Disbelief from some, knowing nods from others.
The day after, however, when all is said and done and the checkpoints are reopening, is a lovely day. there's barely any smoke from the harbor, and the sun is shining down. Ludmilla's is open, and a few customers of the local ethnicity are moving freely about again, stopping in to get in a few days of pent up sexual frustration out of the way.

Felicia waltzes in, mid day, as Kath is stuck at the bar. she presents a small silver chain "tokens of the magistrate's appreciation, darling" and a pouch full of coin, about 20 gold. " so where's that woman you were curled up with eh? still at the magistrates?"

Kasia shrugs "something to look into once we're done with this wine job. Lets shop today, then we can look into this wine thing for simic, then maybe pick up a week's pay going 60 feet into some tight little fissure and deciding it doesnt go anywhere fun"

She looks over the elven embassy again, then leads Clancy into the shops. City Elves lounge about in long coats, breeches and shirts, despite the heat of the late august sun "honestly i dont know how you wear a coat at all babe"
