"So, how old is old?"

Until about six months ago I knew more than anyone over __.
Then, like overnight, something shifted, and nobody under __ knows shit.

Dad's of older kids tell me we get smart again when they hit about 23.

Old used to be ten years older than my parents...but I've had to amend that...now they are old.

Getting old starts early. I remember checking out a good looking 16 year old girl at a fast food place when I was 18, and hearing her say that my order "belonged to that man" over there.

Teens are terribly clueless about age determination of others. Well, all kids are, really. If someone is not their age, they are verrrry old.

On the other hand, I've always been attracted to men older than me. Always.

So maybe that remark was a compliment, Ted, hmm?

D'you know, oldies over 40 still have, y'know, sort of, relations.

Shouldn't there be a federal law to stop the practice?

It might put their children off sex completely.

You mean that there isn't already some federal law that is prohibiting me from have sex? I was hoping that I could someway blame it all on the government.

Shhh! Don't give any ideas! ;)

I saw a bumpersticker that said, "Time may make a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician".

Anyone who knows South London would understand that 'difficult' is an understatement.

*nods vigorously*

~~ old hmmm, i refuse to consider someone as 'old' just coz it has connotations that are generally negative.

As for 'older' well that's a fact, some people are 'older' than some.

I'm one to talk about age and people older than me, i've always been attracted to older women, as much older than me as 35 years.

Last week, one of the now single ladies in my pensioners' group celebrated her 70th birthday.

Later in the week, she joined my wife and I on a group outing to a garden centre with a butterfly zoo where we had a cream tea. Unusually, she was unaccompanied. I asked why.

"Sometimes the men in my life get too demanding," she said, "I'm going to a candle-lit dinner tonight with one of them, out all day tomorrow with another and the next evening I'm preparing a dinner at home for a third. The fourth is doing some garden maintenance for me today and I'll owe him an evening out for that. I do need a break sometime..."

I have replaced the proper names in her remarks. The local gossip is that her husband died from over-exertion in bed and the four men currently in her life are finding her too much even if they only have to supply a quarter of her needs.

She enjoys her life, is completely open about why she needs her four men, and there is a queue of men to replace any of her current quartet if they can't stand the pace...

Apart from her many other activities, she sings in an all-women choir to raise money for charity. The members of that choir are not a church choir. They are more like burlesque. The music hall songs they sing are full of double-entendres and illustrated with appropriate action. She is about the average age and some of the other members are nearly (but not quite) as energetic in similar ways. She is the only one with four gentlemen friends.

And I think I'll be old when there is no one I know who is twenty years older than myself.

Oh shit! I'm old...!

I keep forgetting how old I am..........until I catch sight of myself in a mirror.....then the realisation hits me that I'll be 60 in 2 years, I have two grown up sons, I was married to the same guy for over half of my life.......but then I catch sight of my beautiful wife, and I forget all about the old thing.

With me, its the physical deterioration that I can't take. My mind still thinks I'm in my 30's.....so unfair.

My folks are 86 and 87....and still going strong.

Age is only a number, it's how you feel in your heart. My grandfather was over 80 when he died, but he still did everything for himself until he slipped into the coma, still harassed my grandmother before she died and still 'snuck' into the basement for a cig as if he was going to get in trouble if he got caught, lol. He was older than me but I honestly don't consider him old because he was a kid at heart and honestly that's all that matters.

I agree with MrsDeathlynx

Old is a mindset.

The oldest person I know is 34. His spirit went into retirement almost a decade ago. I know 90-year olds who are younger than him. Pretty sad, really.

My BF and I are both in our early 30's and go to college with kids 10-15 years younger than we are. And then we go out with couples our age, and I think that I have more in common with the kids at school than I do with anyone my own age, with kids and mortgages and "career" type jobs.

Our school has a bulletin board where all the teachers have posted their baby pictures and the kids are supposed to guess which baby picture matches up with which teacher.

One of the little boys said, "You know, you can tell which ones are from the old teachers because those pictures are in black and white."

"That might be true, Brent. So, how old would you think those teachers might be?"

"Oh, about 70 or so."

"70! Hmm...Which teacher do you think might be 70?"

"Well, there's Ms. Glynndah..."

*sigh* And I thought I looked pretty good.

LOL - you are old because to kids? You have more rules than their parents and that makes you old. I'd say more on the topic, but I realize that it'd make me look like a perv and I am not - I am simply observant about human nature at all stages.

Age is a state of mind.

I tell you, though. I could fuck rings around these younger folks.
