I just have to jump in on this one. I am insatiable right before, during and immediately after my period. I could care less about the mess and luckily, my first real lover didn't either so I never had any hangups about it.

Unfortunately, my last bf couldn't stand it, and wouldn't even touch me during that time. Sometimes I swear, he would have preferred to not even be in the same bed.

And I find that I have little to no cramps if I have sex then, but will bleed a little heavier.....seems like a fair trade to me though

The one time I had sex when I was in full flow as it were I bled quite heavily (with clots) for two days after. I am not with my man much (I'm in a LDR) so ever since I've been trying to time our visits together so that i am not bleeding, or so near the end that it doesn't matter. However I am 44 and I've just skipped a month so now I'm not sure exactly when it's due (this has happened a couple of times before so I am not too worried).

I suspected it was having sex which made me bleed like that but wasn't sure. Thanks for confirming I am not the only one!

Well I have developed the same reaction to my period over the last few years as well (I'm 47)...before and after my period my sex drive is high and during my period my sex drive goes into hyper mode...my last boy friend loved it since I wanted to have sex 2-3 times a day during my period...he didn't mind getting all worn out from sex And yep I definitely get super aggressive and will try and do all sorts of sexual stuff I wouldn't be as likely to do the rest of the month As a matter of fact my period started today and I started having sex with my new boyfriend...today!

I was like Peaches...the misery of having a period took over my life at times, until I was having 21 day periods with very heavy clotting. I became anemic and had to go on hormones to stop the bleeding so I could be examined. Life turned around and headed in the other direction at warp speed after I had a hystorectomy. Sex has never been better for me and I'm a little pissed that I waited so long to have the surgery.

I'm usually at my horniest around ovulation followed closely by the day immediately before my period, continuing until around the moment the blood shows. I'm not so horny during the period but stll continue to have sexual activities if the situation arises. Back in my teenage days I used to masturbate to relieve cramps.

I have to agree that I seem to be hornier about 2 days before my period.... Although I wouldn't even consider it a period( I have an IUD and it makes my periods much much lighter to say barely there.. I don't even need to use feminine product as i only get a little bit pinkish mucus)

My man was never squeamish about having sex during my period(even before the IUD) we would only avoid it at the first few days at it was quite messy.

as for oral sex I don't think he would mind But I just can't bring myself to let him do it.... It would just be too weird for me to see him look up at me with a bloody chin

I'm not particularly interested in sex during my period...I think it's a self conscious thing even though DH doesn't mind. When I was a teenager it never bothered me...maybe I've gotten prudish in my old age (25 ) Luckily it only sticks around for 3 days, so it's not like no sex for a week or anything.

With me I generally find it really varies. I have a history of having horrifically bad periods and pains when I first got it and all through my teens, now that I'm in my early 20s it's lessened noticeably (although some months are worse than the others)...

I have a very high sex-drive and am almost always up for it, so why should some blood stop me from having fun? I had a friend who dated a guy that would always make a big deal over doing anything during that time which we both found distasteful (okay fine if it's not for you, but don't be an ass about it), it's messier but it only happens once a month and if you think about the amount of other things you can come into contact with during sex (sweat, saliva, hair, skin, genital fluids, fecal bits) so what different is a period besides being messier? It'll wash off in the shower anyway I mentioned this to my bf when we started dating just as a passing comment and he told me a few months later that what I said actually changed his perspective on it more (gross, but bearable), we like sex better when I'm not bleeding, but it's still great during too. Anyway, point is, menstruation won't stop us from our pleasure (I mean shit, he still goes down on me during, as well! What a guy!)

And if you think about it, there are some benefits to it — like not really needing lube
